Sorry, i kinda need to hijack this thread as i too need some new window rubbers, mine no longer clear the windows (if they are wet/ covered in condensation)
-
Brilliant, thanks for that, will try that first. What about the liner? Does anyone know what i can use to replace it as mine no longer exists....:(
-
Nice to see my engine is being loved again :) looks good in the black
-
Ok so now where do i get the rubbers  also the skins dont appear to exist anymore....what would anyone advicethat i use to replace these with? Lifter bushes eh i wouldn't know what they were nor where to get replacements :( But thanks for the replies, if i can locate the parts will have a go at this tomorrow

Did this at the weekend and it is a serious PITA! I though 'ah the wing, i know where the bolts are, must be easy...' man i was wrong. The wing i was removing was knackered anyway so i wasn't worried about distorting it too much as i can repair it once its off but i ended up cutting the sealant and then used a chisel to remove the sealant
-
Not sure if this should be interior or exterior but mods please move if necessary! As the title states even if i open my window an inch there is serious rattle coming from it and besides it being REALLY annoying im worried this might do damage to the window or the mech... Any ideas as to solve this, the window rubbers are also really s**t and don't clear condensation/water/snow off if i open it so i dont know if that has anything to do with it... Cheers! Jay

try selecting the double pulse option, for some reason my central locking requires a double pulse to unlock, even from the doors, my alarm unfortunately didnt include this option and so i had to faction something to replicate this however the one you have purchased claims to have a double pulse unlock

Out of curiousity has anyone thought about something like this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WAECO-HEATED-SEAT-KIT-RETRO-FIT-KIT-FOR-2-SEATS_W0QQitemZ370268385846QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item5635b73236 Its still a heated seat kit however its 100% DIY but a lot cheaper, ok so it doesnt have the nice original switch but im sure that something can be modded to accept the switch or something similar. There are plenty of people on here who would be capable of this and i might even give it a go myself... Edit: Found this and although it isnt a corrado he did use a kit made by WAECO http://forums.5series.net/topic/65745-diy-heated-seat-pad-fitting/ What are anyones thoughts?

Hmm it doesn't seen like it will rub at the front of the arch, just that i couldn't get my fingers in between the tyre and the arch at the back and seemed as if there was only a few mm gap...i wont buy anything yet as you all seem to think it wont be an issue, but im only going on the state of the previous front wheels (same size wheels 7" ET35) and the fact that the inner arch plastic has rubbing marks, maybe if i come to a meet someone else can give me their opinion.... I'll see if i can slide anything between the tyre and the arch.....although the spacers might give the car a better stance, looks wise... :confused4: Thanks for your replies though!
-
When i got home today after work i tested the gaps by putting the wheels on full lock and feeling around the tyre, i found that there is hardly any gap at the back of the arch and it feels as if the tyres will rub....can this be solved with a spacer? Thanks

Most boot solenoids that you can fit go onto cable boot releases, not sure how it could be fitted to a push button (from the outside) unless you hack the fitting so that it pulls it (to mimic the push from the outside) if you get me. Im pretty sure it can be done but would need experimenting and one that produces enough 'pull'....at least thats how i might approach it

Yeah sorry totally forgot that, they are 7's, tyres are 205/40/17 and yeah on my car, in the snow stupid weather :cuckoo: , i've only just put them on so i dont know if it rubs and im not sure if they did before as it has only been on the road a couple of months and made sure i didnt need to go full lock on the steering. Haha yeah, definately a bargain especially as i forgot to mention he gave me some rado parts for free!!! He has a MK2 golf and a MK2 Golf Van?! never seen one of those before, looked awesome, but yeah, he previously had an early corrado he was breaking and had recently got rid of the shell and most of the parts and had a few bits left over so gave me an early grill (with VW badge in very good condition plus a red 16V in good nick too) and a slam panel complete with 2 headlights with no cracks! Oh i also found the centre caps on the German Ebay for £26ish in delivery But if you both think they should be fine then im happy :D
-
Ok so this is something im a little but unsure of. As some of you may have read that i needed to replace my wheels, anyway i found some fairly decent one on the 'bay and collected them today. BBS RZ's 17" which only cost me £110 :D, brand new tyres (pretty much) one of the alloys is brand new as his mate badly curbed and had to replace it so less than 300 miles on that alloy, and only one has curb marks. I'm also missing 2 centre caps so if anyone knows where i could get any it would be muchly appreciated! Anyway after taking my original ones off (the ones the previous owner fitted) i checked the ET and they were 35 and 36 on the front :? and 35 on the back. The BBS' are 37 all round. The car has been lowered but not by me so i couldnt tell you the height adjustments. I have included photos which might help but basically i want to know the correct ET setting as the tyres that were on the front are worn on the inner and outer of the wheel where they have rubbed against the wheel arch. Suggestions? Thanks, Jay ETKA Corrado.pdf100223_170856.jpg[/attachment:2gvk52ie] stromlaufplan_gamma4.pdf100223_170920.jpg[/attachment:2gvk52ie] Rear gap Corrado92.pdf100223_171024.jpg[/attachment:2gvk52ie] Rear gap passat climatronic wiring diags.pdf100223_171014.jpg[/attachment:2gvk52ie] Rear Drop climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdf100223_170952.jpg[/attachment:2gvk52ie] Front gap 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdf100223_171034.jpg[/attachment:2gvk52ie] Front gap 100223_171005.jpg[/attachment:2gvk52ie] Front Drop

Hey thanks but i found some and managed to get it fitted! Thanks anyway :D

plastics are easy but if you want to replace the carpet the seats and handbrake/gearstick plastics have to come out. If you're just replacing the drivers plastic you need to take the fusebox out first, there are 2 plastic twist tabs keeping the fusebox in, be careful when taking these out as they have a tendancy to snap! There are then 6 screws IIRC holding the storage compartment in (possibly 8), once you've removed these the panel slides out. Hope that helps!

Not good wippy :( Finished converting my switches to blue leds :D now gotta do that damn sunroof switch.....dont like SMDs much... -
Hmm ive got access to a spray gun just not really got the space to do it in this weather, the garage is currently full of other rado parts...as well as two cars! Need to get some wheels first too i guess...
-
What colour do you need? I've got a grey one available if you need one
-
You do know that the passenger door also opens with the key? Yes it does except at the time his key didn't work in his door, we've since sorted the barrel and he can now get into the car. We also repaired his drivers door so that works too (note the date of the O/P)
-
Hmm might have to invest in one of those....the wheels ive got already arent the right design/shape to add a different colour and would probably benefit from being polished properly, although they are a matt(ish) silver colour so could repaint and lacquer them i guess as they need sanding down and using some filler primer... Noticed that you used 'red metal flake' this looks interesting, where did you get this from and how did you add it? So out of curiousity how easy do you think it would be to DIY refurb something like this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/4x-17-Wolfrace-4x100-4x108-ford-vw-clio-corsa-alloys_W0QQitemZ110461404287QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Rims_Car_Wheels_ET?hash=item19b803447f I would probably paint the inner section black (or colour code pearl green) and probably silver around the edge or http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/4x-17-Team-dianamics-4x100-4x108-ford-vw-vauxhall-mx5_W0QQitemZ110493308740QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Rims_Car_Wheels_ET?hash=item19b9ea1744 again probably paint the inner section black (or colour code pearl green) and probably silver around the edge
-
What were you using to polish the wheels with out of curiousity?
-
yeah ive already got the paint and some 1k or 2k lacquer cant remember which the wheels im looking at are black already so would need to sand them back anyway
