ANDREW 30 replied to zerocool's topic in Suppliers Forum
Are these still £15 including posting to save me reading the whole thread? I'd like one please so please forward me details for payment etc! Cheers Andrew -
Bugger is there a simpler rear upgrade then?
-
This is the kit i've just bought for my conversion: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0333439044 As i've posted above will i be able to use the rears eaisily? Andrew

Thanks for your replies if i went for the 312mm setup is anything else needed for the rear 286mm as in spacers etc?
-
What kind of money does a 312mm front and 286mm rear brake setup generally come in at? Also for fitting to a VR6 what other part are needed other than calipers, carriers, disc's and pads

You'll need to do a search to check for sure, but i'm sure i read that there is a manual winding mechanism under neath the sun roof trim!

Heres the only one i could find today on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-Corrado-Red-Re ... 7C294%3A50

I saw some for sale on ebay yesterday, i think they were about £60 !
-
So it's as i thought, but i did'nt think it would be so pronounced as it is  ! In that case is a VR6 like this on it's standard suspension, as if it's due to the engine weight/position it must be i guess? Mine was on cheap crappy coilovers when i bought it, so i've got no bench mark to compare with on my own car!

I've finally got my corrado back on the road it's had new suspension fitted allround, all new topmounts, bump stops etc etc plus top adjustable Koni's with H&R springs and new Eibach arbs. But for some reason the front passenger side is about 3/4" higher than the other corners and it's annoying the hell out of me. Is there anything i can do to get it all level? I'm guessing it's partly due to the engine being more to the drivers side but it does'nt seem right being that much higher! Andrew

My local garage fitted a front and rear eibach anti roll bar kit today, but the chap there said to me said he did'nt know how the rear could do anything being that it fitted against a huge rear axle thingy! Could anyone shed some light on this for me! Cheers Andrew

I'm waiting on my new H&R spings for my new suspension setup and i was told by someone that H&R springs only match either the early or late top mounts but i can't remember which, can anyone put me straight on this please! Also i've got a 94 VR which top mounts will my car be fitted with? My Chassis number is WVWZZZ50ZRK004557 if that helps!ANDREW 30

Sorry to hijack this thread but can someone post a link to a decent vag.com please! Is all you need a disc and a lead like the ones on ebay?
-
I know that bump stops basically stop the suspension from bottoming out and bugging the damper! I could let the garage order all the parts for me from VW, but the suspension was'nt something i was expecting to be replacing within weeks of buying the car so funds are getting low!
-
What kind of money are they from the dealers?
-
Please look at my last post on this thread! I'm having my suspension replaced on my 94 VR next week, but i'm going to be working away from home all week so i need to get everything ordered today. I've got the koni TA shocks and H&R springs covered, i think i'll need new rear bump stops and front top mounts but is there anything else? Does the front have bump stops? I don't want to go to mad, but want to make sure i've got all the essentials covered! Any suggestions of the best place to buy them online would also be handy, as i'm new to all this and i'm not sure i've discovered the best online sites yet! Thanks in advance Andrew

Has anyone tried the Kw suspension kits which are a shock and spring kit rather than coilovers? Also how do they compare to say spax shocks and h&r springs? Cheers Andrew
-
Sorry to hijack this thread, but i think i'm in a similar boat but my car has what i think are cheap coilovers already fitted. They are plastered in road grim at the moment and the car is'nt at the same height on all corners, but when i come to adjust them i recon i'm going to have problems with the threads etc being seized up! I've had a look at the show us you drops thread and i like the look that about 600mm from top of arch to floor gives which i have on one side at the moment. My main question is what is the standard height from top of arch to floor on a late VR, as if my coilovers prove to be seized i might well go down the shock and spring route myself but i'd still like to end up with a similar drop/stance ie 600ish mm from floor to top of arch! Oh and wheres the best place price wise to buy to buy what been suggested above?

I've been looking through the deffinative exhaust thread and noticed that Magnex were surposed to have gone out of business! Are they back up and running or is there a better exhaust anyway, also i notice that some makers offer both a two or three boxed system which is regarded as better?

Out of interest mate, where did you take it and how have you found them/their work? My neighbour has a body shop they are called morris and emperson they are in Ludgvan on the way to Penzance, they sprayed a bike of mine a few years ago and did a great job. I did'nt get to see the car today as it was being baked when i was there, but i'll report back in a day or two!
