  1. I know i can get the bleed nipples cheap enough, i'm talking about the thread in the caliper that might also be damaged! This has really left me in the cart as i'm surposed to be dropping my car to someone tommorrow to have new brake lines etc fitted next week. I'm away working next week so i need to get this sorted asap, as i need the car back and MOTed for the following Monday so i can get to work!
  2. I bought some mk4 rear calipers to replace my fooked rears, i've cleaned them right up and painted them. Then ealier i thought i'd clean the odd bit of excess paint off, so i go to remove the bleed nipple but it was seized solid and stripped the thread from the bleed nipple as it was removed. I'm guessing that being the bleed nipples are steel and the mk4 rear calipers are alloy the chances are the caliper thread is likely to be shagged. So could the caliper be drilled and tapped to fit a bigger bleed nipple?
  3. Did you pay the full £120 as the listing also has best offer on it?
  4. Did these ever turn up and if so were you happy with them?

    VAG.COM Lead

Does anyone know how does this compares to vag.com : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWAX:IT I just want to be able to read faults and be able to clears them. Also would this be the right model for a corrado?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 3D1&_rdc=1 Hopefully this link will work for you, i'd like to know the answer too. Surely software is also needed, where can this be obtained?
  9. Bugger i'm just waiting to recieve mine that from Gareth/OSV on here : viewtopic.php?f=13&t=84026&p=972231#p972231 Are you sure it would'nt fit as the spacer looks just the same as yours!
  10. How much could you do just 2 x Stainless steel brake shields, as i've already bought all the other items? Andrew
  11. This thread is'nt a 280mm conversion thread, it's just the mk4 rear caliper swop/upgrade which uses the standard disc's!
  12. Change both and watch the temps fall. And don't use a GSF metal bladed pump, they disintegrate and the particles clog up the aux pump. Is this one of the 'bladed' pumps? No idea how much one from VW is, but they're £30ish new from eBay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWAX:IT The same as above, but cheaper from avs : http://www.vwspares.co.uk/product_info. ... cts_id=586

    Using Coolant

Mine was burning water, and was the start of the head gasket going!
  14. Cheers for all your replies, i'll have to get it back up on my friends ramp and have a good poke around the areas you've suggested!
  15. No i had new koni ta shocks, h&r springs, top mounts, bump stops, arbs and drop links.
  16. When i had the suspension fitted i also had eibach arbs fitted and the front had new drop links fitted. And the wheels are deffinetly done up! So i'm looking at vibration damper rings, which i don't think it will be as i had a good look under the car a few days ago when it was up on a ramp. So the most likely is the bottom ball joints or wishbone rubbers, how easy are they to change and are they expensive?
  17. As above, i've got a strange knocking noise coming from my drivers side front wheel area. I've recently had all new suspension fitted, with top mounts etc. I'm quite sure it's not the cv joint, as the problem is'nt when the cars on full lock. Also i don't think it's a bearing as it's only heard at low speeds of up to about 20 mph! So has anyone got any ideas what it could be? Thanks Andrew
  18. Can anyone confirm for me the plug gap need as all the info i've found says 0.7mm for ngk, but the pre set gap on the ngk platinums i've got is around 1.6mm!!!! And it also says that the gap is'nt to be adjusted! Hoping someone can put me right. Thanks Andrew
  19. I'd put my money on a cracked coil pack or old leads!
  20. So the disc's that are included in the sale will be of no use to me? Also it take it that no rear carriers are required for fitting the mk4 rears?
  21. When using the mk4 rear calipers are the mk4 disc's of any use, as the ones i've seen on ebay don't look like they have bearings in the disc's like on a rado?
  22. I have'nt bought 1 yet, but the 3 box i'm guessing would be slightly quiter and slightly more restrictive!
  23. I've just edited my first post with what i think is the answer to your question and i'll have a pm to you in a bit
  24. They do a 2 or 3 boxed system, thats where the price difference come from, but i was offered one at a very very competitive price from a different site! I'll pm you the details if your interested.
