ouch! with 3yrs its £1300...but is that fully comp? I'm willing to pay £130 per month max...thats near £1600. at the minute i havent got banned...i have 3yrs no claims, i'm 21 and going to turn 22 in november, and have 3points for a traffic light jumper. I just popped down to edition38...nice corrado stand!! some very tasty dubs down there, but its soo damn hot to walk about and my mums scirocco is black so its too hot to sit inside. thought i'd nip home for a quick post. -

thanks guys...i really dont tollerate drink driving now...and yeah bollocks to my mates, but they've kinda realised its a stupid risk to take. I didn't realise it was 35mg...hmm...i better be sure then that it WAS between what i said...might of been 40. He was reeling a load of numbers to me and i wasn't listening very well at the time, I'd love to get a driver improvement course/points and a fine...but i sincerely doubt they'll take any mercy on me. I wonder what 6points, no no-claims and at 23yrs old will be? on a G60 no less. -
what do the numbers mean?? and how come mine aint etched with the reg plate...i've noticed that on most other vw's. New and old. Was that an option? :|
-
so..should i be hanging onto my 16v gearbox off my passed away 1991 1.8 16v? I am gonna buy a G60 with the insurance payout you see...so just wondering if its worth keeping. Also heard that it may suffer in higher gears (slower) but pulls like a train in first 2 i think it is. :|

ok then..i'll try taking the roof lining down and see how it unbolts from underneath. It can't open as i have taken the battery out now as it burst and the roof is kinked in the corner of the sunroof, which means it will scratch the top of it if it tilted. benji16v- theres a manual way of opening it?? i'll check that out too. Thanks guys.
-
hi again... yet another dilemna...the roof is of course bent on my written off corrado...and i need to get the sunroof out in one swoop. but the roof is closed... how do i do this?

Skimask- yes mate i am stick thin! can't help it really, i have a high metabolism and just burn it off as energy  The blood test was carried out as i couldn't do the breathaliser when i hit the steering wheel and bent it with my chest. They said i was between 80-120mg...but they werent sure exactly how much. I was driving normally up until that stretch of road came and thought i'd give it a good pelt just to hear the induction roar...but the taxi decided to go for it at the same time... both are an average really..but i'm not sure how accurate the speed calculation is, from an ex-copper i have found out that they have a special testing facility that has a 'ghost vehicle' they call it, which has sensors/cameras all over it..and it weighs roughly the same amount as the car involved. As for the drinking...i was at a barbeque which started at 6pm..i started at 6.30 and drank shots of vodka and sambuca in a drinking game and on the side had a bottle of WKD blue too. stopped drinking at around 11pm and just got my mind together.. drove my passengers home first at about 12.30pm and also at 12.45 (time of crash)... The blood test of taken at 5.30am and was back calculated to the incident. :?: :?: :?: :| :?: :?: :?: -

thanks jim...no sympathy needed..i made a huge mistake i know. I just don't want a big ban thats all. I'm hoping for 12months really and points for the speeding. But it could go another way, points and a fine? perhaps 9points and a £2k fine? -

i wonder what will happen with me...i was doing around 55mph (according to the police traffic dept) in a 30mph zone, but they have no speed camera shots, no mobile police, just a calculation of skid mark lengths and braking distance. Both vehicles including mine and a taxi that turned in front of me to park on my side of the road were a write off. the took blood tests 5hrs after the incident...but i admitted i had a bit to drink 1hr before i drove, and using my estimated height and weight (8stone and 5" 8'), it came back negative at the time it was taken but the back calculation came back positive. Its been 3months so far and i haven't heard a peep from them still...my solicitor needs the police report to sort out who was more liable for the crash, but can't until the police decide what both drivers outcomes are! What do you think i'll get? -
both of you have been a great help! thanks... If anyone else has anything to add regarding the wiring please let me know..

theres a makkinen evo in red going about here...as well as a white one with a few graphics. both rip up the town at weekends. But my neighbours Corvette Z06 would be sufficient on a straight of course. The G60...is it really possible to get a very highly tuned G with everything else still int he car and still be able to beat it. Of course the suspension would have to be swapped for something like FK's or Konis, then you have to R1 the charger and port/polish the throttle body, inlet manifold and head too. perhaps some adjustment to the butterflies in the tb...a smaller belt, chip and pulley...grey injectors...might even need to bore it out to 1.9ltrs and have forged pistons. larger pump and fuel regulator? I'm no mechanic...but most mods are there for a good G. Right?

Hello...just wondering how the hell the dash comes out. I've removed the nuts either side of the dash, i've removed all air ducts and relevant grills, switchs etc. It looks like its being held at the top now by something. As well as this...does anyone know what the best way to get the wiring out in one go? I mean...can i undo the engine wiring from within the car and feed it through...or do i need to undo the engine wiring and feed that through the firewall? I'll be labelling up all the wires too...just for the next person needing it. Thanks for the help. Sanj.

i remember i pulled up to a set of lights with a group of fools in a renault clio on a night out...the guys int he back shouted...G60 yeah??? G60...FASTT!!...i said no...but thanks. 8)

new project for the wife now painted(now finnished)
dubbprince replied to 20v turbo's topic in General Car Chat
is that base coat the primer? have you sanded the origional paint back to metal or just till the shine went? I'm thinking of respraying my next car...but i've only ever watched my dad do it and i think i'm fine stripping it completely, then sanding it down everywhere and then priming it...but laquer is just too thick for the Devilbliss gun i use. i had a National Match 9000 cheapo type gun...but it kept blocking and dripped..so i threw that. For the roof...did you use a gravity fed gun? cheers. Sanj...nice job on all of your cars mate..look forward to the finished article. -
i need to have ABS in my next corrado...is it hard to install it? (maybe a new thread is in order? or is there already one that helps?) I have had 3 knocks due to not having ABS! the last one wrote the car off! I was leaving a set of traffic lights and onto a straight main road, i hit atleast 45-55mph and in the distance could see a car (taxi) positioning to turn accross my front... I slammed on the brakes and tried to steer away as this idiot tried to cut accross without judging my speed...failed to control the corrado (weighed way to much on the front) and the tyres didn't grip much, it took 6 seconds to loose control, and completely wreck his car..and my car! keep the ABS! you donno when you may need it most.

thanks kindly steve...which of the two blacks is most common? i.e. available on all specs, and many of the years in production? :)
-
what is the paint code for the black, as in the normal glossy black that corrados came with? Or is there another black i should know about? G-Lader- the car is a stunner mate....i love the wheels, the colour, the wheels...the colour...have i already said that? oh well...just one more time...the wheels!! the colour...and the rear lights. Sanjay.

-
guys i need the cheapest way to get rid of my right off corrado..thats the shell, front bumper and bonnet in a crumpled state right now. I haven't finished removing everything from it but the time will soon come that i need to shift the remains of poor petey. Is it easy to cut it into pieces? hire a skip? pay how much? for a scrapper to take it. Any help is appreciated. Sanjay.

mate the one that normally gives up the ghost is the one in front of the tank. GSF (german french swedish parts) charge £85 according to the site they have. If you turn your ignition on and you hear a noise...its the pump 'priming'..if this stops then its that pump, not sure how you can tell if its the one in the tank.. As i said in my reply...i can sort you out anyway, but i dont know how to remove them and i also have fuel still in my tank, soon as i do it..i'll clean em up and get you a delivery charge. Sanj.

i wrote mine off june 6th this year...it looks JUST like that red one (6th picture from the bottom). Its still in my garage, but i've taken all interior trim out and boxed it, and taken bonnet off and front bumper and left them lying in my back garden.. Still not taken care of though...because insurance/solicitors haven't given me the green light to strip and dispose of it yet.
-
sigh, looks like I might be getting rid of the rado
dubbprince replied to Trilidon's topic in General Car Chat
keep ya head up mate...theres still time to decide. Maybe and hopefully you may not have to break it...there must be a vw fan wanting it..but first off...get your work/school sorted, try catching buses or something if you can... I've lost my corrado in a crash about 1month ago...its completely totalled and sitting in my garage right now, i dont wanna break it..I wanna rebuild it and soon i wont have a job as i ave to go back to uni this year...but i know it'll work out. the golf would be a good idea as a temporary measure... 8) Sanjay.
