Statistically people who have had one claim are likely to have another, regardless of whether they were at fault. The insurance companies quotes are driven by statitics. So having someone crash into you means your premium will likely rise. I guess it's because some people drive and park more defensively than others, althogh innevitibly some claims simply can't be avoided.

I Recall having lunch with a colleague about 10 years ago. He was massively into tennis and predicted that a young new player, Murray, would be even better than Henman and would likely be our best hope for Wimbledon in the near future. It seems he was right. Well done Murray.

Lancia Monte Carlo , as rare as they say ?

Very nice indeed. A few weeks ago I saw a DeLorean at the garage my car was serviced it. Again similar numbers left in the UK. -
Yes you should remap after the cams. But personally I wouldn't bother with the decat. It's an MOT failure now so you'll have to keep swapping it out unless you have a friendly garage.

My mum used to use diluted vinegar on her windows. Personally I'd use glass cleaner.

Very nice indeed.

I made this point last year that expensive "rare" items will start to fall in value at some point as the demand for them will fall.

I can't see the pics as I'm at work. I absolutely love my cloth recaros and wouldn't give them up as long as I have the car. They were probably the best thing I bought for it. But I certainly wouldn't pay £1200 for them.

I'm thinking of giving the track day a go as I've never done it before and its my birthday that weekend. Any idea how I register for that part and what would I need in the way of crash helmet, clothing, Insurance, etc? I doubt I'd be driving it hard on the track at all but just fancy giving it a go.

I would absolutely love it if vw did another car with the vr6 moniker on the back.

SE Autoworks is where I take mine for stuff too.

considering trading the corrado in for a golf vr6

It will feel slightly nose heavy but the handling is still extremely good. The weight difference is not massive. -
It's all done on statistics. So drivers in Birmingham are either involved in more claims or more expecnsive claims. Have you investigated the specialist/classic insurance route?

I just took it for a midnight run on the way back from the cinema. It's such a simple pleasure but driving a car with such feeling at night with the roof and windows open and some favourite music on just brings a big smile to my face. I love this car in a way that more modern cars can't get close to. Oh, and don't bother going to see World War Z as its nothing like the book and is a bit rubbish really. Edit: They look beautiful at night lit up by street lamps and rain beading off the waxed bonnet :)

http://www.clubgti.com/showthread.php?214640-Slick-50-Golfs The only motorsport that I seem to recall with a large vw membership was the Slick 50 series. But that was Golfs.

I'm going for bad earth too. I had a problem with my negative battery clamp touching the bodywork and it gave exactly the same symptoms.

What's the reason for wanting something more modern? Is it to save cost, get something faster, or just because you want a modern feel and quality in the cabin?
