National Day London/Surrey/M4 convoy anyone?
Portent replied to n3p's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Can't guarantee it but if I'm in the Chieveley Services area at the time then I'll join you. Not sure what time I'll get up you see. It's been a mad week at work. EDIT: Wow, 73 Corrado's registered for the event :D -
I didn't know that about the mk1.5 TT's so thanks. I did have both a pre-facelift and a post-facelift mk1 TT and didn't personally notice much difference, although I never drive to those sorts of extremes. The TT was simply unique when it first came out and I got so much attention from people when driving them at the time. It felt special and "personal" inside the cabin in much the same way I feel inside the Corrado. Also a very good point about the mk1 and mk2 Scirocco's. The mk1's are rising in value only due to their rarity but I'd agree they are a good pointer for Corrado values in the future... ie not going anywhere fast.

Totally agree Kevin. I've been tempted to swap into a Mk4 R32 or maybe a mk1 TT as I see them having a far better chance of rising in value long term. But I genuinely like having a car that people don't recognise.
-
Haha ok if I sell I'll ping you. And I'd love a schrick. I've been tempted a few times :)

This pretty much echoes my situation. I've probably spent just as much on the car as the original purchase price, on new alarm, recaros, bits of trim, etc. But in my mind the money is written off because it's a love thing. I honestly didn't think I would love the car as much as I do. If and when I ever sell the car then finding the right buyer is just as important as the price I sell for. I've never been a diy mechanic but do try to do things on this car and it has taught me so much. Even if I get a garage to do work on this or other cars I now at least know the basics so can be sure of what they are doing. ---------- Post added at 7:51 AM ---------- Previous post was at 7:50 AM ---------- This pretty much echoes my situation. Let's hope so :D [video=youtube_share;UtKADQnjQmc]http://youtu.be/UtKADQnjQmc

This subject comes up occasionally but I don't think they are on the rise yet. I would love it if they were. The prices are advertised prices and it would be interesting to see how quickly they sell and what they sell for eventually. It's summer at the moment and prices for weekend and enthusiast cars are typically higher during these months.

VR6OC V-Festival @ Brooklands Museum 26th October 2013
Portent replied to VR6Pete's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
I don't have a huge amount of time but I'm happy to do what I can to help organise or promote it. I live about 15 mins drive away from Brooklands if that helps. I'll pm my details. -
would you consider a corrado a classic turned away at car show
Portent replied to ross k's topic in Off-topic Chat
Innevitibly putting yourself at the front of anything - in this case being involved with a public exhibition - will attract both positive and negative critisism. Nevertheless, we as car enthusiasts, are gratful that others give their time for such events. Whether that's right or wrong, if you feel sufficiently unhappy about reading others opinions on forums then perhaps it would be wise not to read others opinions on forums? Out of interest were there similar age Mini's, MG's and a Subaru? -
Crash! Bang! Wallop! Corrado @ The Nürburgring ...

Portent replied to ross k's topic in Off-topic Chat
I would consider the corrado a modern classic but not yet a true classic. That said, if there were kit cars and a modern subaru then I certainly would have expected the corrado to be let in. -
Not keen on anthracite on a blackberry. Silver looks better imho.

Oh blast. I was off today shovelling hardcore for a new patio. If I had seen this earlier I would have jumped at the chance. Very kind of you to offer them to the forum. -

That looks lovely. -
I think I read somewhere that the electric window switches would fit there too. Not sure if that's true but might be worth a try as an alternative.

I adore that grey mk2 -
I had a fuel pump fail on a mk2 scirocco and it was whining before it failed.

To be lower, this needs /yoda

Welcome. Standard is best :) I'd suggest posting an advert in the wanted section as it's more likely to be noticed than here.
