3 rotations sounds fine to me. VR's are notorious for warm start issues so 3 wouldnt concern me in the slightest. Mine sometimes takes longer. It was a lovely car and he did care for it. It seems to have had an alloy swap. The only question would be how the track day owner treated it.

You won? Well done. Was the car underweight in the end? -

Yes. Owned by harryc on this forum but sold about a year ago. It was obd2 hence the slightly uprated bhp. Lovely car which I saw once. It rolled into a tree while parked I seem to recall, and he had the bodywork done, hence so few marks now. Also had a warm start issue which I think he fixed in the end. It used to have black cloth recaros in it which I swapped for my standard black cloth interior. So the recaros are in mine now :) Sold it to a guy who was going to use it as a track day car and was going to take it to the ring. Have you checked the wiring behind the switch for any shorting/burning?
-
If you don't already have it then the Bentley manual for the Corrado is very good. It includes some aspects of the engine but is a general repair guide for most parts of the Corrado.

Does anyone else feel like rebooting their life?

Thanks everyone, much appreciated. I will reply to this thread tomorrow but I'm a touch drunk tonight :) -
Seems to be working again now. I really don't mind getting them either.

Ah, as long as I'm not alone :) At least the Corradio makes me smile every time I go into the garage. -
I'm in a lucky position of having a lovely wife and kids, a very good job paying well, a truely lovely house in a peaceful and good area and two cars. But every year I'm working harder and harder to stand still. My mortgage is huge and the type of job I need to sustain all my costs is a very stressful one. I get home each night absolutley exhausted, frequently work 12 to 15 hours per day with a lot of responsibility and am always constantly irritable with everyone as a result. Last year I was quite ill which may or may not be related to years of stress and the after effects will have a lifelong effect on the rest of my life. It seems I'm working very hard just to sustain a lifestyle for my family (I really couldn't care less if we were in something much smaller as long as the area was good - but it would mean far too many changes for everyone else). Right now I'm feeling like I just want to sell everything. I mean everything - house, cars, etc, and just start again in a different area and with much lower monthly costs so I can swap a hectic lifestyle for something with less stress and less responsibility. I won't of course, because it would affect my family too much. But does anyone else feel the same in the last few years? Sorry, just having a bit of a rant.

Bloody hell. I'm gonna bring my copy in from the garage and put it in the house. It's to valuable to risk.

Would love to hear how much.of a difference that makes.

Try spraying some wd40 on the aux belt. If the noise goes away for a few mins them that's your culprit. If it is then it's very simple to replace. It was one of the first things i gaff to do on mine and it certainly whined.

I'm on a phone so hard to search and link but I'm sure there is a guide on here for getting the bonnet open when the bonnet cable had snapped. That might help. Or, does the key work on the boot lock?

Nice. Where did you get the mirror glass?

:) You should see how fussy my brother is. He viewed my golf at a main dealer before I went to see it (it was close to him) and spent a couple of hours going over everything. When I turned up a few days later to view it the saleswoman said she'd never seen anyone take a car viewing so seriously as he had. To be fair though any 19 year old car for £1k should be expected to have multiple faults which need fixing. As you've owned two before you obviously know them well enough. But with such a long distance to travel it is worth being fussy.

Sorry to throw something else into the mix but take a look at the line of the sunroof. It's slightly raised on the passenger side but can't have been left slightly open because it sits flush on the drivers side. Not necessarily a major issue but will need adjusting.
