  1. I'm going to take a guess at the spoiler being a faulty relay or sticky mechanism and the other issues being a dodgy ignition barrel. That's a pure guess though.
  2. I totally fell back in love with mine again today. I hadn't driven it for quite a few weeks due to the new Golf being far nicer in cold weather. But at the insistence of the kids I decided to take it in preference to the GTI. It cranked over for a few seconds and then fired up. I pushed the sunroof back, turned on some tunes and rolled it out of the garage for the kids to climb into. Unlike the GTI the engine had character and the car sat there with purpose. I drove into town with a huge grin on my face and coming back took a slight detour down a short national speed limit stretch with some twisties. The kids were screaming with delight. I love this car :D
  3. Just added the Corrado. Shame I've recently sold my 4Mo otherwise I'd have put that on there too.
  4. As above drive both. But I chose a vr6 partly for the wonderful noise they make. Welcome to the forum.
  5. Bought an HT removal tool from wesleyvr6. Many thanks for sorting a minor delivery issue to.
  6. I've offered to try mine in someone elses car to help diagnose a problem on theirs. Is it really just a matter of unplugging it and then unscrewing the 4 allen bolts? Thanks.
  7. I just popped down the post office and it's £15 to post it back or £24 with enough insurance to cover it. Might try an independent courier but at that price I think I will just use it. Can't believe how expensive the post orifice is now.
  8. Nice. It doesn't seen to work quite right from my phone but I will add my details when I'm next at my pc.
  9. Let's face it, you have to be high to Gabe to want to buy a Corrado nowadays :)
  10. Thanks. Opie are fine to swap it and I'm in no rush so I will check the cost of return postage and if its high then I wont bother.
  11. I will be changing the oil next month. I already have some Fuchs 10w50 but mistakenly ordered some additional Fuchs 15w50. Would this be ok to use and mix or should I return the 15w50 and swap it for the same 10w50?
  12. I have a bad feeling about this Chewey...
  13. Hello there. Welcome from Britainland :)
  14. My wife's on the Corrado for emergency purposes. But I haven't told her she's on it so she won't try to move it :smug:
  15. I've ordered some oil today as the annual service is due in a couple of months. I opted for some Fuchs/Silkolene Titan Race Pro 10W50 - the same as I used last year. I'm very happy with the oil and I can't say I've noticed any drop in level at all so the engine must be in reasonable condition (now on 142k). But I'm wondering whether I'm wasting my money a little. It's certainly not the cheapest oil around and in the last 10 months I've only driven about 2k miles (driving it on average maybe 3 or 4 times a month). So I doubt it's getting much chance to degrade at all. Next year would I be better off with a cheaper 10W40 oil? Does the slightly better grade oil actually make much difference with such a low annual mileage?
  16. I saw this a week ago with my two kids and all three of us loved it. "I'm Count Dracular, blah, blah, blah!"
  17. I get the same every year. The price goes up. I tell them I'm leaving. Price comes down again. It's like a little dance that we both do every 12 months.
  18. I also think that the trend now is to keep and maintain a corrado in original condition rather than bling it up or add performance parts. So there is only a limited amount of information people can put in their members threads really. Having said that, I must get around to updating mine.
  19. Thats because the time out value is something high like 12 hours. They arent actually all active at the time.
  20. Its naturally going to get quieter here as the number of owners falls, particularly during the winter months as cars get stored until spring. Also most information can be found by searching so there arent so many discussions that are needed.

You could try S E Autoworks in Guildford. I've only used them once but I seen to recall that it's run by a couple of ex vw mechanics. It's fairly close to you. I've got a spare maf if you wanted to try it... I'm near Esher.
  22. Between the lack of spare parts for older cars (in comparison to BMW for example) and their chasing people for minor copyright issues I'm genuinely getting ****ed off with VAG as a brand. And I've been a mostly loyal owner singe 1988.
