I've been through a few wheels including a momo that came with the car. It was immensely comfortable but for overall look and still a lot of comfort I went back to a refurbished oem wheel and far prefer it.

Wow, very lucky exscape indeed. Nasty.

That's lovely.

Opinions of e36 m3 and would you have one instead of a Corrado
Portent replied to Portent's topic in General Car Chat
Thanks for the opnions guys. I'd sell the Corrado in a heartbeat for an E30 M3 but they are wildly different price points so that's not likely. This E36 is very cheap though. But I think I'll pass on it. -
Love this colour. I just don't know why it wasn't popular back in the day.

Renshaw project (probably going to sell / swap)
Portent replied to 24V Renshaw's topic in Members Gallery
Blooming heck that's looking good. Well done to the two of you. -
Good luck getting it sorted. Once you do, you will forget all the pain again and it woo be worth it.

Of course you're not mad. Load of people want a mk2 Golf GTI and they are the same engine. The VR6 is the one for me due to the noise and pull of the engine. But the valvers are nimble and were probably less abused in the past. There have been some cracking valvers on here. They are not the poor cousins at all but cracking little cars.

There is a real affection for old Fords but I'm not yet sure if Corrado's will be held in the same regard (I sincerely hope they are but they may forever be in the shadow of the more desirable mk1, mk2 Golfs). So while parts may become rare, the number of people needing parts will also decline. Having said that, some parts are already out of control expensive; e.g. Recaro's and Schrick manifolds (which admittedly aren't Corrado specific). I'm lucky that mine is in the garage but I may worry about the interior when I one day move to a house without one.

Jim's Corrado - ciao to the Fiat! Hello to.. (P64)

Picked a hell of a cold day for the swap! Looking forward to setting the results though. EDIT: Just realised you're not putting it in today. Oh well, the wait will be worth it though. -
Rarely see them. Mine is in frequent use but over winter it's probably every couple of weeks only.

13 people including you and me. The meet-up is separate and not related to this donation thread. The meetup is being organised by the CCGB (Corrado Club GB). That is also £10 on the door I think. The event thread is here: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?59944-National-Day-2012-Sunday-20-May-Brooklands So if you misunderstood that my thread was simply to donate £10 to Brooklands by sponsiring a square yard of track (www.bankingonbrooklands) then let me know and I'll happily refund the £10 EDIT: I've just changed the square to show the owner as www.the-corrado.net and a message indicating it was bought with donations from members. EDIT 2: Yay, it has been updated now

Is there a way to adjust tension if the belt itself is ok?
-
If I didn't have mine I would probably be buying yours. It looks lovely.

Thanks. I've dropped you a pm. The Square Has Been Bought I have now bought the square. I bought a £150 square as it's for a good cause and also so that we don't get trumped by another forum :D. I covered the shortfall myself so won't be asking for extra donations. But if anyone else still wants to donate then feel free to contact me. I've bought the following square: "Section 9 Straight C". This means it's obviously in section 9, square C and "Straight" refers to Whitney Straight who raced at Brooklands and recorded the 4th fastest lap there. Why That Square? I had to pick a random square. So I at least tried to pick one that had some tentative connection to the Corrado name. This square stood out for a very tentative reason... "9" symbolises the 1990's when most Corrado's were sold (I appreciate they launched in 1988 but most were sold in the 90's). "C" is obviously the first letter for Corrado. "Straight" is a tentative reference to the VR6 - Taken from Wikepedia: VR6 is the German word "Reihenmotor" (meaning "row engine" or straight engine). I don't mean to favour the VR6 over G60 or valvers of course :) What Name Is On The Square? The square can be seen by going to www.bankingonbrooklands.co.uk The square is currently showing simply as "unavailable". I need to set it up when I have a free moment (I'm still at work). I'll do this in the next few days and confirm when I have. Next Steps I will setup the square to have the Corrado forum name in the next few days, and confirm when I have. Once again, many, many thanks to everyone who took part.

Welcome to the forum! Looking forward to your thread now.

Wow that's a lovely freebie. As mentioned above it's a high spec for a valver. The seats are certainly valuable in today's market. Are you just missing the panel or the switches too? Unfortunately the panels are as rare as hens teeth.
-
I vote for keeping it standard but spending the money you would have put aside on an engine swap to do performance mods on the current engine. If you are after extreme power then supercharge or turbo on the current engine.
-
Thanks, good to know. I'll let you know when I find some. But that may not be for quite a few years by the looks of it :D The previous owner of my car modded the existing pods to get larger speakers. It sounds good and the look is 'ok' so I'm not desperate. But it's something I'll always keep an eye out for. Not going to bankrupt myself though :bonk:

Black with cream recaros and Audioscape door pods. It doesn't get much better than that. The recaro's look like they were fitted afterwards as the carpets and trim are black (nice contrast with the colours). The VR6 badges are from a mk3 Golf VR6 Highline by the way. Also the head unit is a nice touch as it's in keeping with the look of the car. It looks lovely and very well cared for in the pics. Have fun :)
-
Actually I would consider early pods too. I'm sure I could modify the fitment of the late switches.

Do you have any anti virus or firewall software that might be blocking access if it thinks it's a dodgy site for some reason

Good point. For a late car please :)
