ok so my rebuilding company stated to me that I can not get my charger rebuilt.... =-( because its internally damaged.... so I need a cheap charger or I am going to use these engineering skilz to whip out some mounting plates for a mercedes C230 supercharger or a SLK32 AMG supercharger. I dunno which one I want to put on it yet. cause I dont know what the outcome of each will be. I can use estimation on the AMG charger being that its lysolm so that I can get an approximate boost level but once again I dont know what it will be. anyone got a website that did a conversion similar to this, I have seen it once and its a site in the UK cant remember the name tho. many regards to those of you that have design experience in this field if you can help and even if you cant. Jonathan PS, how many problems can I have with 1 car I mean REALLY!
-
is the vertical adjuster electronic? thank you
-
no what are you talking about? problems and questions? IS THIS REALLY SO HARD? ALL I WANT TO SEE IS WHAT I NEED FOR THE STUPID CONVERSION, IF I EVEN DO THE CONVERSION AT ALL!!!!!!!!!! all I have got is the vertical height adjust on the european corrado's and the square plugs for the lights, WTF? IM AM IN THE US! I HAVE NO IDEA WTF VERTICAL HEIGHT ADJUSTERS ARE BECAUSE THEY DONT COME ON MY CAR! AND SQUARE PLUGS FOR THE LIGHTS FROM EITHER A B3 or B4 PASSAT? I HAVE A CORRADO I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT! 9007 bulb holders or something? at least give me a year! so that I cant look it up on ETKA! B3 and B4 really means nothing to me, I know mk I-V, and A1,A2,A3 because thats all I ever hear on these forums, quoting passat parts does nothing for half the members on this forum. sorry if this is rude or whatnot but I DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT! and LanceeVox: http://www.estrictlyforeign.com/asp/pro ... 4&ID=11235 get them on ebay, they are 30 dollars cheaper.
-
hahaha part numbers?
-
-.- k but I need a picture of what I am looking for or I dont know what it is....
-
but wtf is it? I dont even know what I am looking for...!
-
where do you get the square plug things you are talking about.... I just want HID's in my corrado...the projection just looks cool.
-
ok so lancee the only place where we can buy them is from Estrictlyforeign.com.... yeah they are 420 dollars there, they are also selling them on ebay for about 400. Only problem with that is that they might not be DOT approved... =-/ anyone from the UK with these lights see a little "DOT" with an ellipse around it on their Inpro headlights? and how hard would it be to remove these lenses so that I could etch a little D2S in there so I can have HID's :-)
-
yeah I dont know why they need the washers.. made no sense to me either... the only thing I keep hearing is getting DS2 lamps or DR2 lamps, DR2 are non glare and DS2 require projection lens.... anyone got anything on it?
-
uh I will find a place for us california people to buy them.. =-/
-
S2's can do this because they have an external washer. and their lenses are projection to begin with, IE their lenses are already cloudy, Im looking into doing it in america.... I do believe that you need a new lens, OR you can be smart and get someone to etch D2S with a sand blaster, then cover it with some good clear coat so that it bubbles up like normal D2S's, auto leveling system is key though, dont know how they get around that.

tigger, if you need a rubber bit to put into that hole, if you havent gotten one already.. pop the trunk of the car and look on either side of the hatch, there should be 2 round holes with rubber bits in them, take one of those rubber bits and fill the hole. or thats what I did and it worked.. VW part number is 411 963 259 its a 20mm plug cheers -
does anyone have a sound of either the magnex or the supersprint on a G60, I bet they sound great on a VR but I dont want to hear it because it makes me sad to own a g60. its ok when the RIVO comes out in the US I will own an either R32 or R36 (if they ever make it) with AWD, then I wont be sad and I will have 2 generations =-)
-
well at that point the supersprint would be cheaper, this one costs 653 US with shipping where as supersprint is about 600 US with shipping, the definitive question is now "which is better for a G60, Magnex or supersprint?" the better question is which is quieter and has a nicer tone and doesnt break as much?
-
Ok so as far as I have seen I believe that either a magnex or a supersprint exhaust system is the best for my G60 does anyone know where I can get one that will ship to the United states? I know partsforVWs.com will ship stateside but I want to see a magnex system.... oh and it HAS to be 2.5" anyone Know the size of the supersprint with 2 silencers? and the magnex? and I need reccomendations for a good cat-bypass cause I have to Cat...
-
I need something straight through, IE no spot welds as it changes directions, I need full welds or straight through. I dont remember if the TT is straight through or not... Im thinking Euro exhaust, anyone got a reccomendation for an exhaust system found in the UK or europe? I need something good and dont want the american spot weld BS that I see everywhere. I have been through 4 systems, spot welds go bye bye really quick with a 65mm pulley on the charger, air is twice as hot as stock I believe.
-
anyone know if the supersprint exhaust for a G60 corrado is a good exhaust system or not, Im looking into getting a G60 system and want 2.5" with a nice low tone, relatively quiet. supersprint looks promising but I want something that will last. anyone got anything?
-
I am going to bet on the fact that they will end up putting a VR6 of some sort into it, there was word of an R36 version being a later addition being that they are working on that engine for the new R32. The first 2 engines that will be released to the states will be the FSI and the TSI twincharged engine. you blokes over there will get different engines including ours probably with a little more literage. The R32 will make its way in there is no way that VW would be stupid enough not to use that engine it EVERYTHING possible. Anyway Im buying one no matter what, I dont care if it weighs as much as an S4. its still clean and looks fun to drive. AND learning from my own mistake I am going to buy the R32 when it comes out AND I am getting the AWD system... once it comes out. no more FWD for me! the R32 with AWD and DSG will the the ride of choice for most of us. I will put it on order for 2 years if it means I will get one.

can I do the valve guides without pulling off the head again? and is it the valve guides or the valve stem seal? talked to the guys at the machine shop and they said that i could do it with the cylinder in the top position for each cylinder. I just have to press on something and pull the retaining clips out and do other stuff.... anyone know how to do this in detail and does the bentley have the instructions in it? cause Im shooting in the dark here.
-
could be, it will also do it at work if I leave the car there for about 5 hours and then start it up.
-
so my car burns oil when it starts up it gives me a nice cloud of the bluish stuff when I crank it over and its cold. could my need for a supercharger rebuild cause this? could I be blowing that much oil into my intake system, only getting 10PSI out of specs listed below, I am taking it out next weekend. I did notice a bit of oil in my boost gauge vacuum line (nylon see thru). anyone? I just had the headgasket replaced, bad seal on the oil feed? ONLY at startup rev a few times and it goes away. no burning after that.
-
metal separated from the rubber over the years? yeah I dunno you'd think that it would be still good.
-
agreed on the gearbox mounts mine does this too, BUY OEM replacements, poly mounts are TERRIBLE and I can vouch for that, the only mounts I believe that dont kill you are vibratechnik and they are UBER expensive.
