yeah I know, at that time I was running a little lean explains the melting., 2 sources, 1 laser temp probe and 1 pyrometer on the exhaust. Ive sorted what I am going to do, I am getting a custom stainless system made, I got the piping in 2.5" I just need the resonator and muffler, got to talk my friend into welding the pipe now haha.
-
Im still up haha =-) woot for west coast yeah give it a shot.
-
1000-1200 degrees F, depending on the heat of the day, the new one should put out 1200-1400, melted the welds before, just one of them though.

I do have an answer and its that supersprint's have had problems, and they are heavy, looked for a scorpion and found nothing, I popped the techtonics muffler, multiple times, the piping welds also broke because they couldnt hadle the heat. although it was their 2.25" system it still should not have popped, especially as many times as it did, I dont have a cat... so the flames that I shoot dont get stopped they keep going.... yes I am running rich.

turbo VR6 engines have ..... very low torque, if they are bi turbo then they are ok.... but I mean really... who in their right mind like pushing on the gas and waiting? do what I do, put an AMG supercharger on ure car 1.35L per revolution, it makes the VF engineering supercharger look like a wind toy. just think, all you have to do is make a bracket, as long as the rib spacing on the VR6 belt is the same as the G60's then you can do it no problem, there are only 2 kinds of spacings that I know of so its a good chance that they are the same.

Im just not going to reply to that, you mentioned companies that dont even make full systems for corrados. BTW when YOU decide to run 18 psi constantly, let me know which exhaust system doesnt break for you, not to mention the 27 psi that I am about to run with the new supercharger. I need a straight through 2.5" at least stainless steel, the exhaust box has to go stright through, so does the resonator. Ive been through too many systems to know that 18 psi and aluminized systems dont work, they pop
-
just remember boost, cast iron, and forged are all your friends =-)
-
whats the compression ratio gonna be? if 9 to 1 im thinking about 350 max... roughly, how much psi? that figure was with about 13 lbs of boost, if the compression ratio is low enough yo u could do 17 with a big supercharger and you would get about 400 hp =-)
-
replace the thermoswitch, your 1st temp switch isnt working, the second switch is though.
-
gah I wish they sold magnex or some GOOD exhaust for corrado's over here, all we have is borla or flowmaster or something crappy -.- stupid americans.

got them taken off at a machine shop as they were part of the casing, the new charger looks like the schematic picture. =-) I would take a picture but the digital camera is downstairs. hahah Potatonet = Lazy right now. -
G60 random burning smell! only occasional
potatonet replied to iow_corrado_g60's topic in Engine Bay
the engine gasses go out what it called a breather, there is a normal breather output that goes into the boost return system on boost return equipped corrados, this way the funny smell stays in the intake tract. removing the boost return allows this smell to be vented to the air in the engine bay, seepage causes you to smell it because there is a box vent system below the window glass for your car to get air from the outside, cover it fully and you should be good. -

yeah I got the message through to to bilal, had to register my account again under a different name and email. yeah I know the whole fuel economy and 1.3L per rev dont go together, I think I will still get about 14-16 mpg as I always have in this car somehow. btw that equates to 19 mpg in the UK on the high end and 16 mpg on the low end. Supercharged, where do you get the rarest pictures in the history of VW? a 16VG60 being worked on by VW techs at the factory before it goes into a car... wtf? cheers darren, I'm not positive but I might be getting my project done sooner than you are, have you mounted yet? oh and just tell him to make me the exact same chip because magically mercedes literage is 1.35 liters per revolution. -

ok so the injectors I have recieved in the mail are GREEN the part number on them is 0 280 150 558, they are 40 lbs of fuel per hour @ 43 psi, high impedance, ford racing part same part used on VW's =-) I will be running them @ 51 psi so I will in theory be running 47 lbs per hour. G-man have you done anything to look @ gas mileage on the setup that it seems we are both doing? right now I get 14-16 mpg which is REALLY BAD!, ISV is on the way, so is knock sensor, and O2 sensor, I am overfueling right now but I always was because I was only getting 13 psi when I should have gotten 18...... CAN ANYONE GET AHOLD OF SNS!?!?!?!?!??! I have been trying for WEEKS to get ahold of these people but I can not get ahold of anyone! Dubforce.net wont send me a validation code so I cant do anything. -
there are 2 flaps in newer VW's make sure its both.

IMHO get an oil pressure gauge, and check the bolts on the SIDE of the engine that hold on this stupid metal cover, should be right near the camshaft, its a stupid cover that sometimes will come loose if you tune your engine up a lot, or if you just forget to tighten it like me =-/. and check your brackets and the usual, wiring is almost never the case in this situation. I say its the side thing. cheers
-
500 miles dont rev past 5, first 100 dont rev past 4. grease em up good. =-) this is for rod bearings =-), crank bearings are 100 miles dont pass 5 and you are set. if you use enuff grease you can thrash them straight off.

G60 random burning smell! only occasional
potatonet replied to iow_corrado_g60's topic in Engine Bay
the smell you are smelling is either being caused by bad valve seals (which I doubt is the case because you would see blue smoke on start up), OR its the oil in, if the car is equipped with no boost return then the oil goes out to the K&N filter which then gets fumey and seeps its way into the heater system, get a carbon fiber scuttle cover or take a piece of acrylic plastic and cut it to fit the full scuttle, the gasses will not get in and you wont have the icky smell anymore, its oil & engine gasses that are making the smell no matter where it is coming from. -
bracket for alternator holds on just the alternator, its easy to get off, get a bolt from the stealer.
-
yeah a tenner in america is a high octave singer.... =-) cheers 10 GPB = 20 dollars roughly

wow is dubforce broken because I cant get a validation email even tho I sent it 5 times! -
nice avartar hahahaha. I just found out that G60 radiators have 6% more coverage than a VR, PWR makes a radiator thats 415 and is thicker than normal for more fluid flow, I might use it just because I am going to be running 24-25 psi... eek
