Hi Do you have any problems with your steering at all? Can you get proper full lock in both clockwise and anticlockwise turns ?
-
Dont know about anyone else I find the factory Magnified wing mirrors when used with the normal rear view mirrors on the corrado gives you a false sense of distance...takes some getting used to :D
-
Thanks for the replies...as I prefer the chrome look. I 'll probably go for the mk2 golf VW badge and just file the 2 plastig lug down like Bullfinch mentioned to make it fit the corrado and just resue the original rubber bits of the corrado like others mentioned to stop it angling.

Rear VW badge has lost it chromeness..... I take it its an obsolete part now...Just wondered what everyone else has done to theirs when this happens. I ve tried to spray it all black but didnt like the look of it against the other chrome text bits. Anyone tried to revive it successfully back to chrome or have it painted to match their bodywork colour. Pictures appreciated to show what you have done also cheers

Cool...another corrado VR in North Wales....Have we got enough for a local meet yet :D

The above happens exactly as you descibed it. So the alarm is ok I will check the pump and the fuse tomorrow :salute:. I take it the fuse panel cover will say central locking pump fuse. thanks again

Cheers for the reply....I think you are right in saying its a Toad a101. I ve just done a google image search and it looks like the one I ve got. Yes the beep sounds when I try and lock the car but the pins are not going down but the alarm is definately activated. I can hear the central locking pump is working and the pins tries to go down but doesnt. Maybe ive messed up the sequence when I ve been pressing the buttons too much have accidentally programmed it so that the pins stays up ? I think I need to find myself a manual for this somehow :)

Hi All Anyone got the instruction manual for a toad alarm system or know how it works. I am not sure which one I have exactly. On the back of my remote key fob it says Type EL. Its a black remote key fob with 2 buttons. 1 black and 1 green. I dont know the working sequece of it. I used to press the green button to lock and unlock the car....but since then I may have messed up the sequence somehow as the door pins dont go down. It will work if I leave it for a while (w hich is not very convenient :)). I ve noticed that when my alarm was working properly when I lock the car from the remote key fob both the driver and passenger side indicator used to flash. Now only the Driver side indicator flashes when I lock the car...before you ask both the driver and passenger indicator do work when I turn my hazzards on :) also what does the other black button do ? any ideas? Thanks in advance

Thanks for the positive feedbacks...Iam going to maintain her the best I can and hopefully take her to a few shows and meets in the coming warmer months. The only mod I am itching for is a BMC CDA induction kit. Hi vornwend Iam based in Anglesey mr.otis I will pm you the cost list breakdown of exactly what the package price from D and G Autotech was. Its involves mk 4 tensioners etc and other bits and bobs.

Hi Everyone. Just thought I will start a members gallery thread of my Corrado VR6 Storm that I purchased back in Feb 09 this Year. To date it has already been treated to a D and G Autotech visit to have the Chains, tensioner, crack pipe, clutch and flywheel done just to be on the safe side (Thanks to Graham and Dave for a job well done). So HOPEFULLY its going to be trouble free motoring for NOW…We all know about the slippery slopes of corrado ownership :D Anyway managed to do a bit of wax on and wax off recently on the car and whilst it was looking minty clean. I took the car out for a few photo shoots. Hope you like them.

This is a really good storm makeover thread. Stripping the front end is something I want to do to my VR6 once we get into the warmer months...Wish I had a warm garage to do it in :( What will you be using to treat any rust out of interest....

Hi Anyone in here has their ISV Damper box removed on their VR6. I ve recently noticed that my VR6 doesnt have one to begin with so not sure if the noticeable sound coming from the centre of the dash area is the sound it makes. Its a very faint hissing/buzzing only appear on throttle. Just need some reassurance :) cheers

All working again :)...just tightened the door pins

Help ! Iam having problems with my door pins not going down when I try and lock my car from the remote key fob. Any pointers as to what to check? If I sit in the car and push the door pin down manually it goes down ok. How does the door pin work. Is it controlled by a vacum pump like a mk2 golf. If yes where is it located on a VR6 corrado ? thanks in adavnce

I ve read that genuine storms will have the chassis number of SK002 or SK003 within the chasiss number itself. You can check this 1. On the V5 document 2. On the Vin plate in the engine bay 3. On the sticker at the back of the boot 4. Or check with VW themselves just to be sure

Talking about timing chains.. I ve got mine booked in for monday at D G. I just want to get it over and done with and not having to worry about it. I know the chains should last its the tensioners and guides that are the weakest link in the chain.

Great Job a very interesting read

In fact the information was from an old sprinter magazine dated November 2000 issue number 17, Page 13 entitled "The perfect Storm" written by Steve Auty. I have a stack of sprinter mags from the original owner and now it has been passed down to me also. Have you accidentally added an extra nought on the chassis on your typo Yeah...Sorry Judith was not intentional :) Hadnt thought of it when I was signing up to make things consistent. Its confusing me at times too !!!

 cheers bullfinch...even before the PM price its sounds expensive :) Yikees
-
Hi Bullfinch. I will post a picture up as soon as the whether is good and I've give it a proper wax on wax off :) Its exactly like yours in fact :) I know the storm are not that rare. They are just run out editions of VR6 corrado with added badges. You can get a corrado VR6 up to "storm spec."if not "better spec." I think The VR6 Campaign model are the rarest corrado (not too keen on the red interior though). When I bought mine I was in the market for just a VR6 then a storm came up that was too good to pass with addded mods that took my fancy. You probably seen the one that was advertised here with the fancy VR6 reg. RW1 - did you used to own the registration VRS1X I noticed the pic on your avatar. Butterfly - I think weve already "met" from the CCGB forum. Remeber the accounts issue. Glad youve resolved the mystery :)

Hi Ive noticed that youve gone for the 288mm brake upgrade. Iam thinking of going the same route as the brakes on mine are not very effective. What does the upgarde involve ? Apart from bigger disks :) Does any other components need changing like the calipers etc. If you dont mind me asking how much would such an upgrade cost roughly ?
-
It would be nice to know how many of the 500 storms thats out in the UK still exist. You could have a separate list for storms that are non UK. I ve read that genuine storms will have the chassis number of SK002 or SK003 within the chasiss number itself

Hi All After many years of wanting a corrado I ve finally taken the plunge and got myself one!!! These car are an amazing drive and the sound is awesome on full throttle. Just wondered how many corrado storm owners are in this forum. I'll start the thread with mine.
