  1. Not sure what you mean by upside down ? .
  2. Sorry to jump in on the thread , but I have the same problem . I bought two new ones . New window rollers . The windows still rattle . Mine are as tight as I can get them , but they are not tight to the windows above the handle area . Like you say Carrots , you can't just pull them off and try to refit them .
  3. I have a crank sensor , that I believe to be in working order . Your welcome to borrow it .I can send it to you , to see if it makes a difference . I can't remember the cost of the new one I bought ,I do have the receipt for it in my folder . At least it should rule out weather your one is shot or not . Let me know if you need it . Rob
  4. Was just going to post this up , vedubmachine , same price .
  5. This was replaced Fla . I will have to wait to get the pressure tested again , now until my friendly mechanic gets back from holiday .
  6. I believe it is Phil . Something is just not seated right there . Hope you get it sorted. Rads and the BMC look great .
  7. So did I Mic . I haven't had a chance to check it yet . I'm going to check for fuel in the return hose before starting it on Saturday . Will also get the pressure checked . This has to be fuel related .
  8. Bummer ! . I've been using the car after work recently as the good weather is here ( well sometimes ) and it's nice to get out and drive it . I turned the car over tonight and my starting problem has returned . I fitted a second hand pump a while back as the old one was whining .I also had the fuel pressure checked , which was fine . The temp sender that supplies the ECU with info has been changed as well . My Mac is in for repair at the moment , so I can't put the vid up , that's on my phone , of the starting problem . A description would be a spluttery start , which sometimes fails to keep the revs up and dies , or it will splutter and a few seconds later idle at the correct cold speed . If you turn off the ignition and crank the car again , it starts as it should . Surely this has to be a fuel pressure fault ? It seems like the return valve is not holding the fuel .
  9. Change those sensors bud . If that does not work , get the fuel pressure checked .
  10. This pump assists the main pump . I doubt if this would cause your problem . I feel your pain , intermitant problems are hard to find , I know ! .
  11. Personally , I think the crank sensor gets a lot of blame when a Corrado fails to start or whatever the circumstances . They rarely fail in my opinion. Yes they are in a vulnerable position , where they are situated and are prone to getting a lot of crap on the plug . But a good clean of the plug and they should be fine .
  12. That's good news . A group buy of say .... 400 lol . Good find Jamie . Good luck Chris , could be on to a winner .
  13. Yep , while your at it , stick a new stat in . Also the rad sender that sits in the rad . When I said housing I meant underneath the plastic cover , where the senders are found .
  14. Yep still available from TPS . Make sure the old rubber 'o' rings come out with the senders . I left one in by mistake , when the car was up to tempreture it blew it out of the block . New rings and plastic circlips should come with it .
  15. Easy fix mate . There are three in the thermostat housing , on the block , right hand side when you are looking at the bay . Best to replace all three while your at it .
  16. Mine did this . I replaced the blue temp sender , the one that tells the ECU , what to do . Mine was registering 37d all the time .
  17. Bear in mind if you do vagcom the car , the crank sensor will show as a fault if the car is not running .
  18. ENVY . Lol . Looking great Jim . You must be well pleased .
  19. Welcome along to the forum . The valver looks nice and tidy .
  20. Looks a very nice car Goldie . I love the colour and the seats are very nice . Low mileage too . RE the ignition switch , Im ashamed to say I gave up . And had to hammer the screw out and cable tie the new one in . A friend did his on a T4 with no problems , could we do mine ? Er no , I did the same on my T4 as well .
  21. As Fla said. Regarding the fuel , remove the fuel line from the rail . As for the colour of a spark I'm not sure , as long as it's healthy and nice and bright it should be ok .
  22. As above , as easy pops said . This happened to me , I kangarooed all the way home . And two of the leads were not seated correctly .
  23. I would start with the fuel . Change the filter and make sure you have no problems there . Leave it running or drive locally . Take a tool kit with you . When it cuts out , remove the fuel lines to check fuel is present . Be careful ,if there is fuel it will be under pressure , so protect your eyes . If all is ok , you may need to check the spray pattern in the injectors . This is obviously a bit more complicated . Next . Everything electrical from the ECU , down the the fueling and ignition system needs to be checked . I would unplug one at a time , spray them with electrical contact cleaner and plug back in , checking for corrosion and any faulty wires . I would also have a look at your ignition switch , alarm / immobiliser . Also when it cuts out , remove a lead and connect a spark plug and lay it on the block , you will then see if you have a spark on cut out . All you need for a car to run is a spark and fuel . So if both are present, it may point to a faulty immobiliser . All the best , hope this helps . Rob
