I've tried taking a pic , but it's on a phone so it basically crap .you can't see the stains . Not much help I know . Will the above cleaner be ok on paint ?

Morning everyone . I have a set of Compomotives on my car ( group buy years ago ). I've noticed that the fronts are now stained and I can't remove the stains . It looks like dried brake dust . I've used car shampoo and either Maguires or Simmons alloy cleaner , but it won't touch it . Any ideas , I hope I don't have to have them repainted ! Regards Rob

Basically , the clay bar , or the more modern stuff which someone else mentioned , removes the tar and the like off the bodywork . I learnt this when I bought mine . I spent hours polishing it , but when I looked closely you could see the grimy lumps trapped under the polish and wax . So I had to do the bottom again starting with a bar . Micro fibres do work , I always use one when I'm drying the car . Edit , it took me too long to reply , already stated above .

Sounds like a rough day you had there ! . Hopefully it will all sorted for you soon .

Sling the leather as well . A MIT for washing and a micro fibre towel for drying .

Spanking set of rims .

I need to refurb my steering wheel it's shocking . I've used furniture clinic on seats before . But would it be strong enough to paint a steering wheel ? . I know your in and out of a seat and they take some wear , but a steering wheel is handled all the time . Or should I send it off to be re trimmed? What are your thought chaps ? Rob

I think we are getting old ! . I've a big music range . From rock to dance . There are some great new bands around . But most of it is cheesy crap , however if I was 14 , I would proberbly like it . My daughter plays me some new dance stuff and I'm thinking , if a DJ had dropped that in a London club a few years back , he would have emptied the place in minutes . It sounds so bad now . As for the likes of Kane or what ever his name is I would agree it's garbage . But at 45 years old it's bound to sound bad .

The R32 is 240 standard . A remap will take then to 270 . I agree with Jim , you just don't know what's been done to these Corsas and Saxos . Most are just standard with a Halfords big boy exhaust bolted on the back box though . I've had plenty of them giving it large at the lights . I just pull away normally , it's them that looks a right plank then . However if there's a dual carriageway ahead and it's clear I will give it some , just to let them know whose boss lol . These people obviously have no idea which car is what , it's doesn't take a genius to work out what VR6 stands for . It's a bit like me trying to race an Aston Martin or something like it ,you just end up red faced !

This reminds me I must complete my agreed value form . As James has said , that's how it works . Basically an added ins for people that have spent a lot on their car and would be able to recooperate some of the money to allow them to start again if it was written off . Obviously you can't insure it for everything you have spent , there are chaps on here that are into 15k plus , I can't see any insurance company agreeing to that .

Yes it's 2 years old , so it's the new one . There's a bloke just round the corner from me whose bought the limited edition Koenigsegg , what are the chances of driving that ? Round about zero I reckon ! .

Erm , you've got me there Harrier, it's a V8 so I presume it's the E60 ? . Rog I know what you mean lol . I drove his ( my brother in law) RS5 before he traded it in for the M5 and that was awesome too . I got in the Corrado to take the kids to Dawlish Warren and it was like , where's the power ? Lol . But I do love my car . We went the long way home and once we were past the road works at telegraph hill , Jo said c'mon Rado do ya stuff , I dropped it to second and she flew , that lovely V6 roar is awesome .

I had the opportunity to drive one of these today . Christ on a bike , what a car . Everything about it is awesome . 560BHP and by god it shifts effortlessly . Really like the way the instruments can be projected on to the screen . Absolutely loved it . Maybe one day I will win the lotto !
