  1. Nasty bit of damage there . Hope you get it sorted soon .
  2. Thanks for the part no , much appreciated .
  3. Ooof , you've got some power on tap there !
  4. Thanks mate , that's very helpful indeed . Rob
  5. Thanks chaps . It's so easy to do as well .
  6. Thanks Jim , I thought it would be ok to fit . That's strange , that you have four studs . RE the metal brackets , they must have fitted to early cars and swopped in 93 . I didn't know they did a plastic bracket .
  7. No worries , sorry I couldn't do the link .
  8. Thanks mate , I really need to get more on top of using a Mac . I'm not sure how to do a link . If you type in leather steering wheel kit on Amazon , it will come up , it's the only full kit that's on there . Edit , it's the £14.95 kit , I've just looked and it says , that I purchased this product .
  9. I'm currently collecting parts for my underside refurb . The fuel filter housing (bracket) , on the 92VR is metal , mine is a rusty mess . I went to see a mate today who is breaking a 94 Vr and got some parts off him , I wanted the filter bracket so u could clean it up and paint it , to save taking mine off , until it comes to fitting . It was only when I got under the car I saw it was a plastic holder , much better than a metal one and just a clean up and it will be ready to fit . But the holes for the studs are offset , the metal one is inline . Would it matter if the bracket was at an angle ? As long as the pipes are not kinked and I can manage to get it to fit I don't think it would be a problem . Or , if only one nut was tight and the other end not attached , would this be a problem ? There's no weight to a filter , so it's not like it would be a strain on the bracket . Has anyone tried to fit a plastic bracket to an early car ? . Any thoughts are appreciated . Rob
  10. Small update as usual . Ive got the last of my underside parts on order now . So im waiting for the wheel bearings , the hubs for the front wheels and the rear disc covers . I picked up some more parts off off a mate who is breaking a VR. I already have the powder coated arm for the wipers , but i got the motor off of the other VR as it was in better nick than mine , gave it a good clean and its come up well .I grabbed the the radiator support frame from him too as mine is in a shocking state . I also fitted a different sunroof motor and it now slides back and fourth , so im happy with that . I purchased a steering wheel leather refurb kit online a couple of days ago , so i now have a nice new looking wheel . A couple of pics of the wheel , i thought it came up great . Im looking forward to fitting the new parts in a few months or so . While its on the ramp i can do the fuel tank straps , clean the fuel and brake lines ect .
  11. Looking great David . Well done for tackling the body work , as above , it's one area I would stay well clear of ! .
  12. Good luck in your search , another returns to the fold . I take it it's a VR your after ? .
  13. The car is looking fantastic Phil . Yes the fuel pipes are the right way round , or it does look right . I think one is slightly shorter , so it would be a bit of a struggle the wrong way round . You can check by following it back . Obviously one is the fuel non return .
  14. Wow , it's looking very clean and shiny Phil .

    Vr6 wiring

Christ , I forgot all about this . When I went to Robs house he'd sold the engine from the car he is breaking , so the pics were no good to you . Just wires hanging around . Sorry Phil .
  16. What a Coincidence , I was thinking this last night , I have spare fogs and indicators that could do with a polish too . I was thinking of using the glass scratch remover polish , with a small palm sander . Going through the grades with wet n dry .
  17. Ooof that looks painful , poor old girl .
  18. I dare say mine could do with a clean too .
  19. It won't do any harm to clean it . I would say a clean throttle body would make better running .
  20. I only mention it , as my dad used to work for them back in the 70s . I haven't heard the name GKN in a long time . He used to make me stuff in his break times . I had the best catapult in the street . I also got to visit the racing cars they had there . Sorry for clogging the thread .
  21. I would remove the ISV . Stand it in a bottle of carb cleaner over night . Give it a good clean using an ear bud or something like that . Check the small appature is opening freely . It's a common fault , basically it's a crap design . You could buy another second hand part but still have the same problem . I'm not sure if you can buy them new anymore , probably deleted .
  22. Sorry bud , bad day lol , i got you confused with lilfuzzer for some reason !
  23. Thanks Chris . I've still not managed to sort my PayPal out . If you send me a pm with your bank details I could pay you that way ? . Rob
