No offence taken . I know you only asked for advice on pricing ,but nothing was said about what you know about cars . I was just trying to give you a bit of info about looking around a car . If you know your stuff , thats fair enough . good luck in your search , i think prices are starting to rise , so now is the time to buy a VW classic Coupe . Rob

Are you up on your mechanics and generally good at looking around a car ?.If not i would recommend paying for an AA mechanic to come with you to have a look at the car you are interested in . I know people who are confident in buying and still take an expert with them for a second opinion . People on this forum are a friendly bunch , if theres someone close to you it does not hurt to ask if they would mind coming with you to have a look .

My previous experience with breakdown cover ,linked to insurance is not good . Im not saying their all bad . I had one come out to me when the car failed to start , he had a clip board in one hand and stuck a pen round the engine with the other . His answer was ''i think its electrical where do you want the car to go ?''.Not a great diognosis !!. I am now with the AA . I broke down a while back and the bloke tried as much as he could to sort it out , he was with the car for around 2 hours . Cant say fairer than that . Rob

Ok , I have put the multimeter on and I'm getting a reading of 20 mili Amps , 00.2 .Can someone confirm if this is correct or wrong please Many thanks Rob
