  1. It looks like your bang on it Dox . They are different . This is not the first time ive been sent the wrong parts . Not happy . this has caused me a lot of grief .
  2. That’s what we did Dox . It’s way out on one side compared to the other . Sorry I read that wrong , will check them Dox Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. That would be great Martin thank you [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I changed the drop links , ball joints , wishbones . The other parts ie subframe etc were removed and painted . All parts from heritage. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I recently changed most of the underside parts on my VR. It wasnt until a week or so ago that i noticed a knocking on full right lock . The wheels have all be aligned by the way . I took it to kwikfit today as a mate works there and we got it on the ramp . The drivers wheel is hitting the anti roll bar , the distance between the roll bar and the wishbone is a mile out,if you measure the gap on both sides, but it connected to the drop links withoutany pushing and shoving , surely if its a mile out it would struggle to reach the drop links. I also noticed the drivers wheel is roughly in line with the arch but the passenger is sticking out further . At the risk of sounding stupid what have i done wrong ?, its like the seering rack and subframe have moved over but you cant get that part wrong can you ?, it has to bolt up in line with the holes for the bolts . Why is it all out of line ??. I know its hard for you chaps without looking at the car but if anyone has any pointers it would be appreciated . Kind regards Rob
  6. exactly . I think they do get marked down .
  7. Thanks Matt. I will keep an eye on it . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. A little up date and more questions. I took the car for a spin on Saturday morning and the response was a lot better as it was cooler . I also noticed how quick the temp dropped when you are at speed from when it was stationary in traffic and the fans were coming on obviously the cooler air is rushing in . So do I really need to run a pipe from the filter to the grill ?. 1 it won’t look very nice . 2 it won’t do anything unless you are at speed anyway and as I said it’s cooling nicely without it . I also noticed it seems to get hotter quicker in traffic than when the KnN was fitted ?. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Apart from the ignition lead fiasco which I agree with , I would say this is not a far fetched price . These cars are worth every penny as far as I’m concerned. The amount of ads you see for a nice car with plenty of work done to it ,ie new underside parts , always serviced , bills to prove and back up etc . £3,500 !. So under priced .

  11. That’s what I was thinking. The temp is supposed to drop tomorrow, I will give it a run then . I even thought about taking someone with me to compare the two , it takes minutes to swap them over . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Will keep an eye on it [emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. No idea bud , the KnN was fine in the heat and there are supposed to be prone to heat soak . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I thought these were supposed to be better in warm temps ?. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Yep all fitted nice n tight . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Evening chaps . I have recently fitted a BMC , I had a KnN fitted before. To me it seems like I’ve lost excelerating power. It’s like the opposite of a placebo effect. I’m sure it’s lacking in power . I can’t think of any reason at all why ?. Any help or info would be appreciated. Kind regards Rob
  17. Any time Matt . Sorry I haven’t replied to watsapp been busy and I keep forgetting, old age [emoji38]. Not sure if it sounds much different to the KnN ?, people obviously notice it more when going from a standard box to a BMC . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. [emoji4][emoji4]. Looking forward to a good blast mate Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I had a quick run this evening. I got home and the connecting pipe had been delivered, I was straight outside and got it fitted. Not sure if it’s louder than the KnN ?, it does sound different. I probably need a longer run with a bit more time .
  20. Please excuse the state of the car . It’s been a while since I’ve had a chance to wash it and wipe over the bay .
  21. A little update. Many thanks to Ian (Culshaw) who sent me the CDA filter . I also fitted the windscreen wiper motor cover from the Passat. And I also managed to get hold of a set of Corrado gauges to fit in the consul, very happy about that [emoji4] As you can see from the last pic , I’ve used the bracket from when the last owner fitted a KnN filter, which supports the CDA very well . 22. Great stuff Leon thank you very much [emoji4][emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Thanks Jim , much appreciated [emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I got two jubilee clips and a fixing type bar . Yes it’s the hose I need . Which is no big deal really . I wanted to see pics of what everyone else has done as I have a bracket attached to the body for the KnN filter, so I thought this may take the weight instead of using the metal bar ?. 25. I think a lot of people on here would want a set . As usual it’s the mould to make them that costs initially. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
