Angry does not come close Jim . I was fummimg , it really felt like he was taking the mick ,the way he spoke to me was disgusting . And theres me trying to keep calm calm and not shout or swear at him . He was adamant , that i had had the meals and drinks . When i spoke to the area manager i told him , that i was self employed and if i spoke to a customer like that , i would expect to be asked to leave the property . He would not even listen to what i was telling him . Im waiting to get my money back before sending him a told you so email . -
Me and some mates , inc three forum members , went on Matts stag do [headlight switch Matt]. We went go karting at Thruxton and a night out in Bournemouth was enjoyed by all . In the morning we went to a pub and had breakfast , where it was decided to go for a walk after breakfast and spend a few hours on the beach and go to another pub for soft drinks , the idea being that although Matts best man offered to drive the mini bus , he had been drinking and it was a sensible idea to wait till it was safe to drive home . We ended up in a Harvester pub at the end of the beach , where we bought our own drinks , mine was a pint of orange juice and lemonade served by a bloke . Please bear in mind we got in at 5.30 am from the night out , so with only a few hours sleep and a bit george list from the night before, i put my pin in the machine as i had no cash and told the barman dont worry about the reciept mate . I was checking my online banking a day later and noticed i had been charged £39.01 for my drink !. I phoned the manager to say what had happened and he said he would look into it . I phoned a few hours later to see if the matter was resolved . Only to be told that i had purchased four kids meals , one pint of larger and an orange juice and lemonade and it was a woman who served you . I tried to explain that i had no children with me and was on a stag do , only to be told , the tills dont lie sir and my staff dont make mistakes , you are not listening to me sir , you had the meals and drinks and thats the end of the matter. The more i tried to explain the worse it got and the more rude the manager became . I then asked him to check the CCTV . He said this prooves nothing as it only covers the bar and not the resturant area . I had to ring the area manager in the end who after hearing my story , said he believed what i was saying and a mistake was made at the bar and will refund the money to my account . Moral of the story , always check the amount on the machine , even if you are a little hungover . I will be from now on !.

Welcome along to the forum . Great work being done with your car . Both Diarmaid and Sean have made good comments about what to do with the engine . I would stick to the standard engine , these cars are getting more and more rare . Sure, there will always be a market for modified cars ,but i do feel the standard car will be more sort after in the future .But as stated above its your car and your personal choice . After all if we all did the same thing the car world would be a boring place to be .

Early VR6 distributor, rotor arm and cap part numbers
robrado974 replied to fendervg's topic in Suppliers Forum
Thanks for posting Vendervg . -
Being a later car , it will show more faults than , say a 92 , like mine . Worth scanning it and seeing what comes up . I would have thought it would have been the leads or the coil pack myself . I can't understand why the ECU would only tell it to fire on four cylinders ? . My bet is there has to be a fault in the coil pack or the leads . If it's firing on four , there must be a fault from the king lead down the line ,at the coil pack or the leads. It's worth changing them both over just to eliminate them both .

There was a similar one one FB , last week . A bloke walks out of a house , with his mrs , poors the last if his drink over a GTR , then picks up a stone and keys it all the way round .

Looks like it . The smaller one is the Corrado badge . The larger ones are VR6 Golf badges .

Thanks for the info chaps , as always it's much appreciated . I remember breaking one a while back on another car . Sounds like it's the rubber seal then . Thanks lads.

Evening all . Ive traced a water leak , to the left hand side spoiler rod . Not sure what its called but its the rod that pushes the spoiler up . Where the plastic casing attatches to the body is where the water is dribbling in . You can see two nuts which look as though they are sunk into the plastic .Before i get the chance to inspect it , i thought i would ask about fixing the problem , iirc these are very easy to break . Any info would be great , thank you . Rob

I use poor boys on the interior . I'm using Autoglym high definition wax , which I'm happy with . What I would like is some non powdery polish . Oh and a garage so it doesn't look crap two days after I've cleaned it lol . Edit . I use Maguires detail spray too .

Severe Misfire Only When Engine Really Hot early Vr6 plus hot brakes
robrado974 replied to oxfordpaul's topic in Engine Bay
I've just sorted my front brakes . I thought they were binding . Removed them from the disc and the piston is working fine as are the sliders . My mate works for quik fit , he popped over and put some Grease on the metal edges of the pads . This area heats up and can touch the disc which causes the squealing . Mine were fine for a couple of miles and then they would start to squeak . -
Ah I see , I read the post to quick ! .
-
Of all the places to break down , you couldn't make it up .glad you got it sorted .
-
Really , really looking forward to this too .
-
Fair play to you Jim . Great work there .
-
Aha , thanks easy pops , I will take another look during the week .
-
Thanks Sean . Looks like mine has too . I've been meaning to clean it out on there for ages . Doesn't look like any rust is present , so thats one thing . Only a tiny bit on the rim .

I cleaned this area out today , whenever I fill up with fuel , there is water present , sat in the rubber sleeve . I removed the rubber sleeve and unblocked the tube . It Was only when I was hoovering the crap that was lodged in this area , I noticed an earth strap just hanging there . I couldn't find anywhere to attatch it though . Is this an earth or something else . Regards Rob

Great news . -
Welcome along . The VR looks lovely . Check out ebay and put a post in the wanted section for the badge . Not teaching you to suck eggs , but don't go for the golf badge , if you see one on ebay they are bigger and won't fit .
