Photobucket is easy to use for uploading pics . I struggle with my Mac at the best of times , this is a simple way of posting pics .

Edit ,i should have said remove the dizzy cap and look inside of it for arcing , not the dizzy itself .
-
Thanks for the replies chaps . Rog I will be in touch soon .
-
Pop the dizzy off and have a look inside . Is there arc marks on it ? . These are prone to getting moisture inside them .

Unfortunately Jamie , as always it comes down to money . So I think standard is the way to go .

Thanks Sean I will look into it . After market start around £50.00 and rise to around £100.00 odd .

Morning all . I'm still on my original set of calipers . I noticed a lot of squeaking a few days ago . When first driving the car it's fine , after a few miles they sound awful . When I got home the rears were hot which you would expect , but the fronts were too hot in my opinion , not that I'm a brake specialist . They were dangerously hot . Maybe the pistons are sticking ? . The pads are 6 years old. I painted them red years ago , the rears have the Mk 4 conversion and are standard silver , so it looks a bit odd anyway . Seen as I'm doing the underside conversion I thought I would get a new set . As usual they are no longer made by VW . Which after market ones should I go for ? Kind regards Rob

I saw one of these about 20 years back . We were working on a council block in Dorking . It was not the kind of car I expected to see when the bloke opened his garage and drove it out . -
It's the only part I haven't replaced on the ignition system . No they ain't cheap .

Lovely car . -
Yeah would be good to do another meet . We have another edition now too .

Good news on the corrado Stella . There are quite a few down here . We had a mini meet a while back . About 12 turned up . That's a lot for a small area . Actually make that 11 , one was Sean's .

Not sure on the lining up , but it's part of the timing so I would look for marks on the dizzy itself .put it back as it came out . I've got a second hand one , if no body has the answer I will check it for timing marks when I get home from work .

Help - how to remove centre console cassette storage
robrado974 replied to g0ldf1ng3r's topic in Interior
Interesting . I have just pulled mine out . Yes there are two slide clips . I've never noticed before but I have two screws in the consol behind it . These don't appear to match up with the back of the cassette holder . No idea at all what these were for . -

Help - how to remove centre console cassette storage
robrado974 replied to g0ldf1ng3r's topic in Interior
I don't think there is a spring in these holders . The Mk2 cassette holders are different . Edit I've just looked at an old ebay sale for one of these . There looks to be two spring clips on either side . Also two screw holes in the back . Mine is not screwed in . I think the spring clips just grip the sides . -

I have one fitted in my VR. They just slide in . Maybe remove one of the cassette holders or at least open one . Wrap a clean cloth round a pair of pliers and get hold of the outer case and pull back gently . Rob. -
Got to grab these parts when you can Phil . I have a tiny shed , rammed with parts I keep collecting . Started to store more bits under my daughters bed now lol . Need a lockup .
-
A whole new set ? Where did you find them ? .
-
Will this be both , red and chrome ? .
-
Totally agree with you on that one Liam . With those sort of miles , I would be driving a mk 5 golf to work or something like that , keep the miles down on the Corrado .

Arse biscuits ! Lol , never heard that before . Hope you can sort it now Phil .
