  1. Just had a very encouraging response back from a company in Surrey. I'm picking up my roof rails on Saturday and the sales person there has asked me to send in pictures and measurements as they believe they may be able to help. If not, they've indicated that they should be able to steer me in the right direction if they can't.
  2. The company I initially found in W sussex have replied already, but sadly can't help. Still going to keep trying though.
  3. Well, I've found what looks to be two companies already who do rubber moulding and one is only down the M23 in W Sussex. I think I will persue this and see what i can come up with. I've got a couple of long w/ends coming up so i'm sure i can spare half a day to go see these people. Got nothing to lose!
  4. I don't think it would be too involved to be honest. At the end of the day it's a couple of rubber strips with a connecting thingummybob at each end. Before i fit mine, i think i'm going to have a scout around to see if i can find someone or some company somewhere who could make these for a decent price. It's gotta be worth a try. :)
  5. Well, it certainly loooks like there's going to be quite a few takers if someone does get this together. :)
  6. Any chance of a VR6 grille badge with the prongs/lugs or whatever you call them!!?
  7. Not as far as i'm aware. Somthing else to get checked out!! Thanks for the heads up! :thumbleft:
  8. yes, it's quite high pitched. The whirring didn't happen when i started up yesterday for the drive home from work and i've not had any starting problems up to now. Think i'll go and get one sourced, ready and waiting!
  9. I've just managed to score a pair from a guy in Derby who had two sets of these to sell. The other set went to a guy in the USA. Not sure if they are still available from the Stealers, but i do recall them being quite expensive for what they are. Probably best to make do with what you have and keep your eyes peeled on eBay for a decent set. :)
  10. Wasn't too sure where to put this, but i saw another Fuel Pump related thread here, so i guess it's a good a place as any. Got some 'whirring' noises coming from the back, driver-side which I suspect may very well be the petrol tank fuel pump on the way out. It's done it a couple of times over the weekend and again this morning. Just wondering if anyone concurs with my suspicions before i take the plunge and go get a new pump. Cheers! :thumbleft:
  11. They're all up-side-down!! Are you sure the previous keeper was an Owl and not a Bat? :bonk:
  12. Really sorry to read about this. Hope you get up and running again soon. One thing puzzles me though is why your alarm didn't go off when the sods were hoisting it up on bricks - or doesn't your car have an alarm.
  13. What do we want............. PICS! When do we want them......NOW!! :) :)
  14. My apologies.... hurry up and get it and post up a couple of pics. Mystic Blue Storms rock!!
  15. Most definitely this.................... ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^
  16. Are we allowed to see pics??? Por Favor............ :)
  17. Just clocked Matty in his VR6 on his way to work - Kingston Rd New Malden. Love the way that car sounds!! :)
  18. As I do for you, but we've not bumped into each other as yet....... so to speak!! :) ---------- Post added at 8:19 AM ---------- Previous post was at 8:16 AM ---------- I'm sure you didn't. I'm equally sure that the online publisher as you say got a nice piece of wedge for the review, as did Edd China for his glowing endorsement!! Truth to tell, and i'm not sure if i'm imagining this, but the performance seems to be getting better and better as the days go by. It's absolutely pulling like a train now and i've noticed slight changes to the engine note as well. :)
  19. No vested interest here..... just happy with the results!! :)
  20. Well, my MOT is due at the beginning of October, so i'll let you know the readings when i get it done.
  21. I was offered this service by my local garage when the Rado went in for some routime maintenance on Wednesday. I had originally asked for the plugs to be changed, but for a few quid more (total cost GBP122.00 inc VAT) my man asked if i'd like this done instead. Had a quick 'Google' and decided to go for it. Basically, they hook up this machine which looks a bit like an Air-Con re-gasser to the fuel feeds and flush it through with this super-refined fuel which gets rid of your carbon deposits inside the engine, cleans the injectors and the cat-converter and gives you a lot (though probably not all) of your lost BHP back. You also benefit from improved MPG and lower CO2 emissions. Have to say I think I was expecting a little too much with regard to the amount of power I got back, but there’s definitely a noticeable difference. When idling – it sounds a lot quieter. The pick-up and pull when going up through the gears is a lot smoother, and there does seem to be a little more effortless ‘grunt’ when you step on the loud pedal!! Money well spent? Quite probably. I;ve not noticed any adverse effects as yet but it is early days and time will tell. Seemed to me that it was running better this morning (Friday) than when i picked it up from the garage on Wednesday evening.
  22. Got a :thumbleft: and a 'nice car mate' from a Fire Engine driver on Copsem Lane, Esher on the way home from work last night. :)
  23. That's gonna look gawjus!! Nice going there Squire.
