  1. Watching the FA Cup final earlier and the moment after Wigan scored there were close ups of some of the crowd celebrating. Almost dropped my beer when I am dead certain I saw James. off this forum (owns the Campaign) jumping around with joy. I'm virtually dead certain it's him and I'm pleased to find someone has uploaded the exact clip I needed on YouTube already! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MRENLro-p0s Skip to 1m03s, and the chap jumping around with the glasses and the blue jumper down the bottom left. CERTAIN it's him!! :)
  2. daves16v posted me some injectors pretty much as a freebie, and shipped very quickly. Not like he needs any more positive feedback as he already has a solid gold reputation on here, but have another thumbs up from me :)
  3. Great result... here's to many more MOT's and many more reliable miles! :)
  4. I'd be very surprised if a Clifford dealer didn't have some kind of box of tricks to reprogram the alarm so might be worth trying to find one? Their website has a facility to search for installers / dealers..
  5. Well I'm still willing to bet my money on it being the relay that's at fault...... :)
  6. Think it's the relay if it'll only work on top speed. You need to get a new relay or one from a breaker. Had the same myself but just reseating it was enough to make it behave again! :)
  7. No worries - I know what it's like :)
  8. As Kev says the in-gear performance is huge - I think the car punches above it's weight because it weighs so little (CrazyDave had his VR on a local weighbridge some years back and I think he said it was 1260kg - minus driver obviously). That means that assuming the car is putting out 400BHP you're putting out approximately 317BHP/tonne - which puts you up with cars like the R8 V10, Lotus Exige S, TVR T350C, etc. And standard VR6 gearing is, I think, good for around 177MPH so.. no reason why you wouldn't be able to keep up with some of those way past when they expect you would. Provided you were feeling brave enough.
  9. A VR6 Turbo is a seriously quick car - be under no illusion. I took the Stealth 'demo car' out for a few hours a couple of years back and it was absolutely devastating. You're obviously hamstrung with the car being front wheel drive (unless you go for the RaceLogic traction control to help out a bit) but once you're into third, in gear performance is monstrous and there won't be many cars out on the road that will outpace you unless you start talking about serious performance cars. I suppose the downside is that you have to consider that you will be throwing away some of your money to an extent that, perhaps, you wouldn't do if you sank the money into an older performance car that might instead stand a chance of accumulating in value - like a 996 Porsche or similar.

    Yes Please

Certainly sounds interesting - look forward to seeing it!
  11. I believe a good Chris Gaskell tip was hairspray to achieve a similar result! The hair spray obviously just comes straight off as soon as you use them... :)
  12. Another 928 owner who also owns a Scirocco and a Corrado... the exact same setup as Tempest on here! You guys need to chat to each other :)
  13. Yep - very deliberately in the corner as my VR looks like it's done every single one of its 187,000 miles... I like to park it out of the way as I think there's an expectation that as a moderator here, or as someone involved in the committee of the CCGB, I should have a superb example of a Corrado... and I really don't.. hence hiding away :) Anyway - sorry for derailing the thread!
  14. I was there mate but was feeling quite under the weather so didn't go out of my way to chat to the folks I should have done - yourself, clumpy, etc.. sorry for being so antisocial. I was wearing a grey hoodie and had the black SF Giants baseball cap on so you may have spotted me. Did have a quick look at your motor - utter perfection on those CH's! :)
  15. Or turbo the VR6... you won't be troubled by modern TDI's ever again :)
  16. Weird one this. I need to reinsure my Corrado very soon now that I've switched from using it as a weekend car (insured with Classic Line) to my daily. I've tried the comparison sites and was just building myself up to calling the specialists very soon and thought I'd try my previous insurer who were Aviva. I'd done one year with my Octavia with them but the renewal was a significant price hike - then I sold it soon after anyway so just cancelled with them. However just stuck my Corrado details in, including modifications and 12,000 miles annual and was slightly stunned to come back with a premium of £360... So worth a punt. Don't discount some of the more well established companies - Aviva seem to offer great prices for new customers but as I say, renewal prices seem a bit out of whack. And bear in mind as they only recognise 5 years No Claims, if you come to them with any more than that, you'll lose it at the end of the year when they send out their 'proof of no claims' letter should you change insurer.... :|
  17. No problem - don't need it for any jobs or anything any time soon.. just one to put on the shelf :)
  18. This is excellent news! I look forward to seeing what products you guys produce to help keep our cars on the road over the coming years!
  19. Ah - that's crazy. I'll chuck in some extra. PM me your PayPal address and I'll sort something out. Cheers :)
  20. What would you be looking for price wise mate? :)
  21. It's pretty comprehensive and indeed the best workshop manual for the Corrado. Only problem is it's designed for US Corrado's so covers LHD VR6 and G60's only... enough to do 95% of jobs though.
  22. Welcome to the forum. Reason for lack of a mention of the SLC is because we are a UK based forum with predominantly UK based membership with very few American members. And the SLC only existed in the States... Was just called the VR6 here :-)
  23. Yep I did expect to have to pay a bit more to post it.. Thats no problem. Just let me know how much once you got a price and then let me know you bank account or PayPal details..
  24. If you're happy to ship it, I'll take it please mate! :)
  25. Jim

    Why?

Scum. Subhuman scum :( I think the subject sums it up - why!! Why bother doing this to someones pride and joy?!
