just been reading this thread,i wish i could sort the steering on my car,its had both wishbones,top mounts,track rod ends and tie rods,drop links, ball jonts.its drives crap realy ,dont feel safe at speed or going quick ish around roundabouts.parts were all aftermarket which after reading the thread am sorry that i didnt get genuine.its just past mot and didnt have any play.anyone got any ideas.

no didnt think you had to,that does smell a bit of solder,but the engine smells hot aswell

new matrix that packed in couple of days after i sorted the head.

hi just been on my hols in my 1.8 16v,it may be just me but it smells like the engine is very hot when i stop driving.it doesnt get hot on temp gauge and is not useing coolant .its not long had a head,waterpump,hoses,oil cooler,rad,heater matrix,themostat.anyone else get same prob

mine had never ending probs worst was a cracked head then the heater matrix went 2 days after i fixed the head,i could of smashed it to bits but its an old car end of day.

i bought a cheap un off ebay lot of people say not to but mine seems fine

have you got cheap tyres,mine makes a noise ive changed bearings but put it down to my triangle cheap tyres now

has anyone had any fuel pipes made up for them,someone must do um or do you just break the car when they rot lol

hi my axle bushes on my 1990 1.8 16v are worn.whats it cost for gen vw uns.ive been told there beter than poly bush

hi mate i had same probs with mine,1st thing i tried was thermostat then waterpump then expansion tank and cap then rad.i used to get a lot of steam and pressure build up aswell.turned out my head was cracked near the spark plug threads.fitted a recon head and the heater matrix leaked a few days later.fixed that and its been fine since

hi just got back from mot station,ive had a few advisorys but the 2 main ones i want to sort asap are the fuel pipes near the filter and the rear axle bushes.ive seen the bushes on ebay just wonder if anyone can tell me where i can get the fuel pipes from.do vw still sell um and whats the cost.cheers
