ive just found my expansion tank is leaking.its only been on a few months.ive heard a mk4 golf tank is beter for some reason .do they fit straight on and does the sensor plug fit ok

ive been having probs with my 1.8 16v running hot and chucking the water out off the expansion tank.ive been told on here it could be a faulty tank.ive only had it on the car a few months.it was an aftermarket 1 off ebay could it be the cause of my probs.ive changed the waterpump and thermostat and its got a blue expansion cap off ebay also

fitted the water pump and a new themostat,still dont think its right tho.mite try another expansion bottle even tho mines only been on a few months.anyone got any ideas what else

i am trying to change my water pump,cant work out how to slacken power steering belt :help: its a 1.8 16v

i am going to try and fit water pump tommorow ive seen a post of what to do,just wondering if i need to jack car up to get under it or can i do it all from the top.hope i can with this :censored: weather

ive changed the expansion tank and the cap to a blue un a while ago.since doing it tho the light flashes on dash .could a crap cheap expansion bottle be the cause :shrug:

the bearings should be fine i only fitted them about 7 month ago,most prob just beded in and need adjustment.been told to put them poly bushes in the axle,ive seen um on ebay

just hope the oil leak is not the head,garage seem to think its the can seal tho or around that area

it boiled again last sat when i took it for an mot,the garage owners are mates of mine and said to get a thermostat and they would fit it straight away.been in it tonight and it chucked all the water out again :( must be the pump or the head gasket.no water in the oil tho and it runs fine

hi just got my corrado mot,advisory list tho is both inner wing brake pipes slightly corroded,strut top has slight movement.both rear trailing arm bushes deteriorated but no play,both rear bearings have slight play,front centre exhaust slightly deteriorated,engine oil leak and last of all suspension joint dust cover split :( :( :( .its not good but i suppose it is 20 years old

hi all.ive got a 1.8 16v g plate.ive changed all 3 engine mounts about 7 month ago.the engine seems to rock about a bit to much tho again.i 1st thought cheap mounts was the cause but put it on a ramp to check them and they are all fine .could it be something else :shrug: :help:

i made 1 for mine it made a massive differance to the gears :D

ive taken it for a 20 mile spin tonight and it didnt get to hot :shrug:

ok cheers,2 types of water pump.the type with the housing and type without.been told the bolts for the themo housing brake sometimes so its best to get the complete thing.just hope its not head gasket

hi all my 1.8 16v has just started to boil.i have been away for a week so the car has stood,i jumped in it last night done about 5 mile stopped and could smell the engine was very hot.i opened the bonnet to hear the water boiling.drove it back from girlfriends this morn about 3 mile,checked top hose that was hot and bottom cold.bottom hose felt like it didnt have water in it.could it be the thermostat,if so is it hard to change and where is it.also ive checked the oil for water and its fine and no white steam from exhaust. :help: :help: :help: :help: :help:

cheers i feel a bit stupid driving around on dip when its not realy dark

ive had an uprated loom fitted for a while now,since its been fitted tho i have not got side lights on the 1st click of the switch.they are on dip beam,i am sure i was told to cut the wire that goes to a long thing near the battery.i just want to check before i cut it.i dont want any fires

i am going to try and make a stealth shelf,ive got the mdf the cloth and speakers.whats the best glue to use also whats the best thing to do with the hinges at the front of the shelf.i dont want to wreak the original shelf
