the starter on my 1.8 16v kr has been playing up,ive got a new un on order and am wondering how hard it is to change.cheers

i had the same prob with my 1.8 16v,i changed the hoses,waterpump,thermostat,expansion tank,cap.turned out the rad was part blocked

i changed my wipers to lupo uns last week,2 drivers arms and a passanger and driver blade.not had to bend mine.got a loom upgrade off ebay for about £40 and it works fine

my car started fine when i jumping in it last nite,went up to the girlfriends.came out of her house about an hour later and it started fine.tried to start it about 40 mins later and it was just click .i thought it mite of been a stuck starter so rocked it in gear,still click.then it started after a few more clicks.it done the same this time last year.i am wondering if its getting damp in side and rusting up the solinod when the engine gets warm.its a 1.8 16v and i didnt change the starter last year.

can i get standard blue plug leads,ive read the upgrade uns dont make any differance

pads discs and bearings and it will be fine .i painted the top hat bit an rim of my discs with smoothrite.looks beter than rust in a few weeks

my 1.8 16v dont get over 25mpg used to show 30mpg sometimes when 1st got it :clap:

same here,i thought get rid and buy a mk4 golf gti but i wont get anywhere near what i spent on it back

my next job is an oil leak on my 1.8 16v.it seems to be comeing from near the cambelt area.do the rocker covers go often
