ive got an oil leak on my 1.8 16v,been told its most prob a cam seal.ive found out there is a front and rear one.do i need to order 2 front ones for behind the cam belt pulleys or the rear aswell.i will get a new belt kit fitted same time i think incase there has been oil on the old belt

1 off the jobs that needs doing on my car are the rear axel bushes.ive been told poly bushes are easyer to fit and last longer.ive seen some on ebay for £30 + postage.has anyone fitted these are they any good

hi does anyone know the bore size and length of the hose from the rad to expansion tank on a 1.8 16v

fitted the rad and it all seems ok now,took it for a good drive and its not getting hot,fan comes on when it should aswell

ive got my new rad,should fit it tonight depending on the weather.took my old rad to wrexham rads who done a flow test on it.turns out its about 25% blocked .spoke to a vw trained mechanic thats worked on a lot of older vw mk2 golf ,corrados etc.he says its not that often a head gasket went on a 1.8 16v.so fingers crossed it is the rad

i hope its not the head,if it is that will cost me.i am not to good when it comes to fitting cambelts so it would be a garage job and new cam belt kit .should get rad today.it dont seem to be losing water tho except out the overflow but that could be because the bottom hose is cold and the top is very hot.

hi ive just taken my rad off my 1.8 16v due to cooling probs :mad2: :censored: .the 2 10mm bolts in the slam panel have broken off and the rubber bushes have worn .can i still get them off vw or can i make something.also is it worth fitting a new rad switch when i am at it.cars costing me a fortune

ive not sorted it :censored: .put a new gen expansion bottle on and its just the same.so thats a water pump,thermostat new bottle and its got a blue cap.the bottom hose dont seem to get hot.could it be a blocked rad.its starting to :censored: me off now.i need a beer :help: :help: :help:

just found my expansion tank is leaking,ordered a genuine tank.cant see how this could fix it tho.i was thinking of putting a rad on it aswell

i get 200 mile to £40 ,ive got a company van so that helps
