  1. It doesn't say on the ad if it's 'opaque' or 'translucent'! You need translucent to let the light through. If you want some I'll have a look at work for the vinyl I used & send it to you.
  2. Thanks man, I did the lights about 7yrs ago. We used the vinyl on a job and there was some left over so I tried it out & it's still on there :D . It's called Ruby Red vinyl, think we got it from a company called Metamark. I'm nearly sure they are trade only but I cound get some if there is enough interest. When I first did them I covered the whole lights making them all red but the indicators flashed red & the reverse lights lit up pink so that was no good. Then after much deliberation I noticed that most of the newer cars at the time had red and orange strips on their OEM lights. So I decided to cut out the actual light part because the sides of the corrado lights don't light. Then I cut 4mm strips and applied them across the cut outs. I made the strips 4mm because if you look closer at the OEM lights you can see they have horizontal reflector strips that are about 4mm. I used these strips as a guide to line up my strips of ruby red vinyl. I have been working with vinyls for over 20years being in the sign industry and it still took me a good few hours to do the lights properly. To get the perfect look you have to form the vinyl over the edges of the lights. This is done using a heat gun, cotton cloth/glove, some skill & a bit of patience. I don't know why Inpro didn't make aftermarket 'All red' rear lights for the C
  3. Thanks Aide, I've introduced bits of red here and there to break up the silver a bit. I'm definitely up for a meet, do you think you'll have your car ready for august?
  4. Some amazing cars there guy's... keep them coming
  5. Looks great man, stealth. About the money, It could be worse... you could be down the pub every night drinking it :) Moon roof looks good too nice fit, what car is it taken from?
  6. Cracking car there mate, glad to hear you've got it running again. I had the same problem with my split rims, thought I had everything sorted & 3 wheels went flat :mad2: I just cleaned them up again & used black silicone to re-seal them. thankfully there still up. Are your arches rolled?
  7. I think the Corrado looks like a Delorian anyway... don't know if that's a good thing or not  i've been telling some of my mates about the Corrado when it was in storage, trying to explain what they looked like cos they didn't know what they were. The first day I brought it out again one of them started joking about 'Back to the Future'. :( Mines Silver btw :)
  8. Didn't they have tyre dressing in 1993? I saw the first pic before but never noticed the front splitter also just noticing that in the second pic the door handles are colour coded & side bumps removed 8)
  9. Glad to hear that mate, Maybe with all the work going on a in the bay, cables may have been put under stress & causing a bad connection.
  10. Ok so I got the camera out again today & took a few snaps
  11. This looks nice but I can't open the attachment to get a closer look :)
  12. Fitted the front near side Tow Eye cover I was after, Thanks strimmer :D
  13. I think his intension is to restore it again to it's former glory someday. When that'll be, who knows. I was going to write to Top Gear about it when they were looking for an old classic car to restore a few seasons ago. Never got round to it though, it is a waste but it's not mine :)
  14. My brother has a UR Quattro sitting at the side of the house for the last 10years. His insurance at the time went up drasticially so he had to park it. It's sitting there now that long now that I hardly ever notice it anymore. From time to time strangers call in to see if he'll sell it but he won't even consider it  It's a Tornado Red one so as you can imagine it's mostly Pink now... what a waste. I was actually the last one to drive it when I brought it back from getting a full polish & valet. It has something like 77k on it & I have to say they do live up to all the hype.
  15. Took the C out for a drive tonight and approached a junction which I just had to slow for. I was in second gear and the car was almost pinking. I planted my right foot to the floor and held it there until the red line. That's the first time I've done this in the VR since I've had it. OMG... what a sound :luvlove: It was the first time had heard the engine really working. The power, induction and the surge all together was something else. when I drove the car fast I've always kept the revs up around 4.5k to get the best performance. But the sound when its pulling low down in the revs is amazing... To think, if I hadn't of read this thread... I'd of never known :D
  16. Class, best post I've ever read :) ... I never stopped smiling reading through it. You explained perfectly just how I imagined, what it would be like. That's made up my mind that I will go down the route of supercharging mine someday. The way I look at it is, I have the VR now nearly 10years & I intend having it for a long time yet. I used to panic about getting things done and made quite a few mistakes along the way. Now I've learned to be patient and do them right. I'm not gonna rush and get to try and get a supercharger this year but I will plan it for next year. Thanks for the blog, keep posting :salute:
  17. very nice indeed, some of the cars on here now are 'top Notch'. You've just joined that list :) I see you even still have the two little foam bits that sit on top of the inner wings, just shows how much TLC the car has been given. mine came off while cleaning one day & I threw them in the boot (where they still are). I think what Abdul was after is just a short paragraph highlighting your first impressions with the new SC fitted. i'd love to know as well cos I often thought about fitting a SC myself. Although with the rain all day here, I couldn't get the power down at all coming off a roundabout & mines basically standard. p.s. you can update your tag line now
  18. psiburr... VR6 owners can only dream about having a dish like that on the fronts 8)
  19. that kerb looks like it's about to take a bite out of your wheels :) White raddo's look perfect in white but the paintwork has to be perfect for it to work. And that white corrado looks just about perfect :notworthy:
  20. Yellow seems to show off the corrado's lines perfectly, then when you drop it with Schimits (spelling) its looks stunning. Even the standard yellow plate looks good. Did you forget about colour coding the number plate surround or did you choose not to do it. looks great either way with the all red lights 8)
  21. yeah, I have coilovers and think that they were one of the best things I've done to the car but this thread is about the little things that don't cost very much (if anything). it's just about the things that everyone can do without money coming into the equation. Most things are taken for granted by people who visit this forum fairly regularly but for new comers they might be a revelation. Things like trimming the roof lining or deleting the rear wiper, these are things that we take for granted should be done to your (at least) 15yr old car. another thing to add,is using rubber & vinyl care (with a sponge) to the black trimmings takes years of the Corrado
  22. Looks stunning mate... well done! :salute: so are you happy with everything?
  23. Excellent finish on the paintwork... lovely car & nice clean rear end, how do you open the boot?
