you should change your bottom pulley bolt for a new one as they can shear in time. Just thought i better say incase you use same bolt. Ideal time to change while its out anyway.

ok so you drive to work which and use most of the battery power. You have to charge for 8hours or so before you can go home. Then phone rings and its emergency you got to go home for or somewhere and then you cant as battery wont have enough charge. The more you think and hear about battery power the more you realise just how useless it would be. I cant see how the government would let hydrogen cells power cars either as they cant tax on water as we all need water daily at home, but i dont really know anything about hydrogen cells so im not sure if it just uses water or anything else? Anyone know any thing about hydrogen cell and how it works?

they may well take off eventually but where does electric come from! About 20 Percent coal 38 percent oil and 37 percent gas all polluting into our air. Remaining percent from renewable and nucleur! Also our whole electric system in the country would not cope with everyone charging cars! Most are overloaded already! I am a firm believer in renewable energy but if we go all electric its going to mean more nucleur power stations needed than we are already going to end up with.

Thanks for the suggestion, have heard of things like these to draw the moisture out of the air Looked like I tempted fate, as low and behold this morning the car was frozen solid. Had to fight just to get into the thing only to be greeted to frost on the inside of the screen :( brings back memorys, last winter when it didnt get above freezing on those few days my floor mats were iced and stuck to my carpet. I dont know how good those things are that remove the moisture but i would say you need to take out carpet and underlay as i had puddle under the sound proofing. Needs taking out and hanging up.

mine was leaking last winter and was membrane behind door cards, i would check scuttl tray first as that is quicker. But if not that then def membrane. Still easy fix just door cards off and re seal.

yea you just have to attach the cables and it should work. Get the heater control unit with all the 3cables all together.

slightly disapointed...Got whooped by a Locust RS
pummer67 replied to Neokitz's topic in General Car Chat
i would be careful trying to lose the rs. As you take it further and further and its still behind you once your well over the speed limit you will suddenly see these blue lights flashing in the grill and realise its an undercover police car. I have seen 2dif colour ones in my area. So leave them for stink to just over the speed limit then ease off and let them go by. If they then still going like the clappers you go for it again. -
just got my dad to look at manual. He said it says that it connects to a single plug behind relay panel. Which seems to ring a bell with me. There should be a green plug with nothing plugged in which you can plug into. Which should be connected to fuse 14! If no spare plug find a green one test that it goes dead with fuse 14removed solder it to that. The earth goes onto the round earth confection point next to fusebox in front of door. Are the cables colours earth brown and the live black or maybe black yellow.

sorry mate. Been away for couple of days. Will be going to my parents 2mo and will look in bentley manual. I do remember that it was a pig. You just have to be gentle and forceful with fuseboard. Sorry for delay in lookin. Mark

not sure wat time i will get home 2day as its other half birthday. I cant remember if it plugs in fusebox or i have a funny feelin there might be a spare plug loose that it plugs into. I will get my manual out when i get home though.

i can have a look later on this evening. From memory is it on a green plug?

just a quick question. Do the brake lights work all the time even when keys are out on rados! I didnt know any cars did that but someone told me that it could be normal. Mark

the dials still work on cables but just have an o shaped end rather than a r shaped end at the control unit end. so you need to change those. the actual heater is about twice the width of the slider panel. i agree that they look alot better as well. i think you would struggle cutting your existing one to size as then your ash tray wouldnt fit or radio hole would need to go. i think you should change the centre console for a late spec one which makes the hole thing look alot better as you can then put in late style switches. have you ever thought of changing your dash for a late one and making the whole dash look better. even the heater vents look better. and then you could change your heater cables easier. to change dash you just need a nice sunny day and you can take old out and put new in all in same day. the only thing im not sure of is if the late centre console fits in an early dash as i changed my dash as well but im sure someone on here could tell you if it is staright swap. there isnt really any problems it is just fiddly to change the cables as you have to lay under both drivers side and passenger side to attach the cables as they route around the drivers side and then attach on both sides of matrix. and when your doing the drivers side you will need a something to put on clutch pedal like a cushion as you need to hold it down to get your head in to see what your doing.
-
you would need a late centre console as the holes are different sizes. Then obviously the heater control unit along with the three cables that they operate with which are a bit of a pain to change but can be done. I would stick with the early slider ones as well unless your thinkin of doing a full late conversion. If you have any other question just ark as i only changed mine in last 6months. Mark

i changed the whole interior from my g60to a late style interior. So it is possible. If your changing dash you need late style centre bracket as well! Like others said mirror switch and window switches are different. If you need to know anythin in particular just ask cos its all still fresh in my mind.

are you using a spark plug socket? A spark plug socket is deeper. If you are they normally come with some sort of rubber on when they are brand new and are a little stiff.

normally cam belt kit is a belt and the tensioner

dont forget to change your bottom pulley bolt for a new one when you have the belt off as they are prone to shearing.

every time i sold a car i always was given the original plate back. to get your number plates made i use a site called 4 plates. they have made all my plates i have ever needed and they are cheap as well.
