  1. Cheers mate. I'll take you up on that if thats ok!
  2. Cheers for all the info there chaps. I ended up not getting the one i was set on, i ended up sleeping on it and i'm glad i did now. I've seen a few cleaner examples with lower mileage and better history. Just waiting for the right one to come along. Havent really got a preference with colour, engine spec or anything else but it has to feel right you know?! I'll keep you all posted!
  3. Spot on mate - some really good info there. Thanks!!! Yeah, you wouldnt believe the amount of insurers that have turned me down as this is the first TVR i've owned - they all said to come back after a year. I will have a look at a few more, i was all set to put my deposit down until i spoke to you. To be fair the mileage has put me off, even though it sounded nice and pulled well with no knocks etc. Thanks for the help though - really appreciate that. I'll keep you posted on how i get on pal. Tom
  4. Hi mate, Cheers for the link to that info!! It went really well, the car i orgininally went to look at was a bit rough so i ruled that out. He then showed me an R plate, imperial blue mint condiotion for 10k. The only down side was the mileage at 90k. I wasnt bothered so much by that though because it had a fully history and the dealership had serviced it from new so they were well familiar with the car. It drove really well too. I'm just trying to find a decent insurance quote. The best yet is £650 from Priviledge. Who are you insured with? Tom
  5. Cheers for the info there mate. The sound of that engine is mad, i cant wait to get one now. Is there much difference between the 4.0, 4.5 and 5.0 litre engines and also the engines with HC? looking at the performance figures there doesnt seem to be a huge deal but surely the torque difference must be huge? I'm going to a TVR dealer tonight to look at 2 of them, one on an M plate and the other on an S - both 4 ltrs. the garage says that they cars are all checked for the usual TVR problems and will come with 3 months warranty.
  6. To be honest mate i'm not sure. The people i have spoken to about them have mainly put them down but without really supporting the negative comments. What are they like for reliabilty, performance, fun etc etc? I'm really up for getting one but need confirmation from people that actually owned one or know about them rather than people quoting car magazines.
  7. Chaps, Its been a while since i had a car i enjoyed. I've been to see a few TVR's and would like the Chimaera. I've seen a few but i'm not 100% sure. Has anybody on the forum got one or driven one? Thoughts please?? Cheers Tom
  8. I hear you there pal. There are some really good and original US drama series at the moment. I also have got into Scrubs recently, i know its a comedy but still pretty good!

    Sat Nav

Mange tout people! I am looking at buying Sat Nav but know absolutely nothing about it. Do i have to subscribe to anything when i buy one? I am looking at a Tom Tom but only want a one off payment, no monthly charges. Does anybody have any recommendations at all? Cheers Tom
  12. I live in Wokingham mate. I've got an Audi A4 in silver than needs a fair bit of work. Would you be interested in that?
  13. Cheers folks, I'm going to have a look at one this morning. Looks like a straight car, FSH etc etc. I'll keep you posted! Tom
  14. Ok, after writing off my corrado in the summer i want to replaced it asap. i would like the next corrado i buy to be used as a second car (something for the weekends etc). I've got a BMW 3 series that i'm driving at the moment and its a bit crap so i was looking for something a bit better with a bit more poke to it. I've been looking at Audi A4 2.8 Quattros. Has anybody got any experience with these? The performance figures seem similar to those of Golf VR6 so i'm happy with that. Any thoughts.......? Cheers Tom
  15. Aposegil, stick with it mate. I've seen your car for sale a few times over the last week now and if i had the money i would take it right now. You are right now to budge on you price. People out there havent got a clue. I'm suprised though that nobody from here has bought it - its a very nice looking car mate. Hang in there....
  16. Unless you are planning to do the repairs yourself i'd definately buy a decent one to start with. Repairs (especially engine repairs) on a VR6 can be well costly. Buy a good one and sort the styling to taste!
  17. That corrado in the first picture was mine!!! (before i crashed it in july) Nice BTW
  18. Thats a bummer mate but seems to be well familiar these days. I had a car stolen a few years back and the guy who took it was the guy i bought the car from. I caught him on camera and went to the police and basically told me they had better things to do - nice one!!! Cheers for the link BTW mate!
  19. Cheers for all the help chaps. I had to give a statement yesterday and it was then that i was presented with the report suggesting my speed. There were a few things i didnt agree with in this report. They tried to suggest that i was racing the car behind me (which i was most definately not) even suggesting that just before the crash he was 2 feet behing me!!! Surely not if he was going 20 mph more than me??? As somebody said earlier at those speeds we'd all be dead. The damage to my corrado was bad enough to right the car off but certainly not enough to suggest i was over the speed limit. From what they said they intend to prosecute all involved in the accident. He even suggested that if i get done for dangerous driving i could lose my licence!!! If i get charged with careless driving then i will get points and a fine. WTF.....i havent done anything wrong, been driving 10 years and have had a clean licence up until now, been pulled over just once for a dodgy brake light, i am so shocked by all of this.
  20. Some of you may remember that i had an accident not so long back. The accident wasnt my fault as a young girl pulled across my lane and i drove into the side of her. The young lad behing my ploughed staright throught the 2 of us afterwards. Anyway the accident investigation unit turned up and measured tyre marks etc. Happy that i hadnt been speeding or breaking the law in anyway i went to the police station today to make a statement where i was told that i was infact travelling at 62 mph in a 40 zone!!! No way!!! I know these results are supposed to be accurate but how accurate? I'm not stupid or a boy racer and i know for a fact i want going that fast at all. The lad that hit us both was going 84 mph! Has anybody had any experience with this and i really am not happy with the results of the predicted speeds???
  21. I saw a tastey black corrado pass me in Wokingham, berkshire at about 4.30 yesterday afternoon. Sounded very nice indeed!!!
  22. I saw that on ebay, i wondered why it was taken off! Looks sweet mate....

    Jokers

To be fair, despite the poor settlement figure they have been quite good. I had a replacement car on my drive within 2 hours of phoning the claim through and they have been efficient with the claim process. I havent had an agreed evaluation policy with them so cant comment on that

Funny that, i'm with Adrian Flux as well!!!! I'm going to bombard them with letters this week!!

    Jokers

Cheers Henny, i'll keep on at them. I have taken loads of copies of cars from the trader. I make some copies of cars for sale on here too. Whay didn't they pay out your agreed value? Thats well out of order because you would've paid extra for that option!?
