Yeah, the car is at a yard somewhere. To be honest it is well beyond repair (economical repair anyway). I'm thinking that maybe i could sell bits and pieces like the charger, interior etc and make up some of the money!
-
Cheers chaps!! They want me to send them the log book so that they can scrap the car. Is it worth hanging on to this until i get a payout i'm happy with. I'd rather have the car back than £1200 to be honest!
-
I've got stacks of reciepts, the car had 115k with a recent charger rebuild. The car was in good condition (not immaculate) with a fair bit of money spent on it. The previous owner lost the service history so i'm trying to get a print out from VW. Cheers for the help Gavin....

Alright chaps, As you are aware i wrote off my corrado G60 2 weeks ago (not my fault). My insurance company have made me an offer of £1200!!! How am i supposed to replace the corrado with that money. I have been told that i can appeal and send clippings from the trader etc. but there arent many G60's on there. The Parkers book doesnt cover the Corrado.....i'm stumped!!! Any suggestions??? Cheers Tom

Thanks chaps......its definatley starting to hit home how lucky i was. Hopefully i'll pick up an another G60 very soon. As i said before i'll keep you posted.... Cheers Tom PS "H8RRA" - my front wings are mashed mate...sorry pal!

Cheers chaps, I would love to get another corrado but finding a good one these days is hard. My insurance have been really helpful so far (Equity star via Adrian Flux) so hopefully it'll be a painless task of getting a settlement from them! I'll keep you all posted Tom

I'm feeling very sorry for myself after writing off my corrado on sunday night. A young girl pulled across my lane to turn into her house but waited 'til the last minute to do so. I the side of her car so hard i spun into the other lane and was then hit again by the lad behind me. I spent the night in hospital with mass abdominal bruising, 4 broken ribs and a boken hand. Thankfully, i was the only person hurt!! I was well impressed with the way the corrado stood up to the crash, the cabin virtually intact!!! I'll post some pictures up soon and also be selling bits and pieces that i didn't have time to fit (like the rear window spoiler Tempest got for us :( ) Despite it breaking 4 ribs my seatbelt saved my life, so for all those who dont wear it please do from now on (that was my sensible head!!) Cheers Tom

Wouldnt have thought so mate....that sounds like the ISV
-
May be a long shot but i had the same thing on my k-jet. I was told it was my fuel check valve (or something like that - sound familiar??). This was replaced and cured the fault. I think the valve sends the fuel in the fuel lines back to the tank when the engine is turned off. This stops the fuel in the engine bay heating up from the heat of the engine. When this happens you get air pockets in the fuel lines which cause poor starting from hot. Sounds well long winded but i read about it in the "golf" magazine and decided to get mine replaced.

erm....i think you just did  I saw my old mk 1 gti on ebay the other week, i nearly fell off my chair....cant believe that things still going!
-
Sounded like a mission mate, glad you got it sorted!!
-
I've never heard of that but if its possible then i'm definately looking into it!
-
Like Gavin said, it only applies to the VR6 mate
-
Tell me about it mate, i'm always working out how much money i have to put aside from my wages to pay for the corrado. I remember when my VR6 (golf nor corrado) front engine mount went i could see the fluid seeping out of it so knew pretty much what was wrong right Away. Have a good weekend mate anyways....
-
Yeah, i hear you there mate! Thats why i stuck to the stock mounts...they do the job and i'm happy for now. When i go for a bhp increase i will probably upgrade. Isnt the front mount hydraulic on the VR6?
-
I have heard that there is more vibration with them but to be honest i have only heard good things about them from people on here and most say that the vibration is hardly noticable. Having said that i didn't fit them so can't speak from experience. I reckon fitting uprated mounts can only be a good thing....
-
My mounts were pretty bad, there was so much movement when pulling away hard. The uprated mounts are a lot firmer than the OE mounts and i would assume be able to take more power and last longer etc...
-
I got all my mounts done when i first got the car, cant remember how much it was exactly but it wasn't more than £200. I fitted OE parts but i think most people got for uprated engine mounts. Looking back i should've done too. Made a world of difference becuase mine were quite bad. VEEDUBBED: cheers pal, i'll give that a go and let you know how i get on mate!
-
Cheers mate, worth a shot....i'll have a look this weekend
