Thats the problem i'm having, its just difficult to get into gear sometimes....i'm thinking that the cables need adjusting. I was thinking about buying a vw workshop manual on cd rom from ebay to find out how to do it and whats involved.

To be honest mine has only ever crunched twice in 6 months...both times were very quick changes
-
yeah, i've ordered some MT90....

Alright chaps, I'm having a few problems with my gear selection lately. My gears are so sloppy and it hasn't really bothered me up until now but last night i got embarrassed off the lights by a Nova because i couldnt find 2nd gear. This happens on rapid gear changes. On really quick gear changes it crunches going into second as well....synchro??? I have a lot of side to side movement when in gear as well. The circlip in in place. Is there a way to "tighten" up the gears. I know that you can adjust them but will this help my problem and is it easy to do? Also, i'm going to change the gear box oil this weekend, does anybody bother using an additive like slick 50 or just stick to just oil?? Any help would really be appreciated on this Cheers Tom

I've never seen / heard that before either. Isn't there also a problem with the law, isn't there a limit as to how far out the wheels can come???
-
Not to worry. You haven't disturbed an immobiliser have you? Still worth checking your earths as that'll only take a few minutes.
-
Andy, that looks spot on mate, how long did that take you, i've been thinking of doing the same kinda thing
-
Have you got a volt meter mate?
-
I have exactly the same thing mate. I'm guessing its the cv joint, if you look through the engine bay you can see it has allen key bolts running around it. Somebody on here told me to check these are done up tight. Thats this weekends job......i let you know how i get on!!!
-
Sorry, just re-read what you put.....if it is possible that you have damaged an ignition wire then i would check the voltage to the starter motor or relay....
-
Sounds like an earth fault if all your other electrics are ok. Are the calipers siezed at the back....worth checking??!!!
-
Yeah. thats why i asked, i know some glues cant be put on windscreens

If you find somewhere near Reading mate give me a shout. I used to go to Expert technik in basingstoke but i'm not too sure if they are about now! Not sure what people charge though... -
I agree, there is a time and a place for that. But i'm not going to lie to people on here and say that i never put my foot down every now and then on a clear bit of road because i'm sure most people on here do as well. This just so happened to be on an empty carriage way, late sunday evening, clear visibiliy....sorry if it effends people but i am going to give it a bit of stick, thats what i bought the car for. I'm not saying i drive like a d*ckhead through towns, public places or built up places, i can clearly see the dangers there!

Last night i had a Honda civic type-r sat up my arse down a dual carriageway near Reading. I wasn't going to bother racing it because i thought it would eat my corrado alive. Anyway after a mile or so i changed my mind, dropped it down a gear and booted it. He didn't gain an inch on me at all. How is that? I thought these cars were quick. Does anybody have any experience with these and am i "bigging myself up" for no reason. I think my G60 is standard, apart from a cat by-pass. It does feel quicker than a standard G60 but no quicker than my Vr6 golf. Surely my corrado can't compete with the likes of Type-R's????

Mine leaked at the FPR....worth a look?
-
Dr_Mat, is that Van Aaken? If so JuloesG60 the TRL is in crowthorne..only about 8 miles from Reading. I live in wokingham...PM me if want directions

Sweet car mate
-
Are you sure its not you expansion tank cap thats leaking?? This will cause your car to overheat cos you will loose pressure....

My mate has done it, he made his own brackets etc.......took him ages. I'll try and get some pics up for you -
Ignition relay? Dodgy earth? Definately check the immobiliser though and see if it has been disconnected....
