My golf G60 was a 2ltr. I think that you are right, there was a problem with the increased capacity. I also had no end of problems trying to keep the thing cool.

Hi chaps, sorry to start this one up again! I've only just got around to sorting this but cannot see where to fit these washers (or am i being thick?). My hinges appear to be welded to the doors and body of the car. How do i adjust this???
-
Nice one, that has crossed my mind...maybe not eh?
-
i don't know if you are mate, to be honest i don't know that much about the G60 engine yet but i'm thinking that maybe i should push mine harder then??
-
6100 rpm...sheesh!! Am i being over careful by not revving mine that hard?
-
I'm glad i'm not the only one with this problem then. I would dig up my whole driveway if it means i can fit one of those. I'm sure there will be a bit of wood i can use....
-
Cheers for the reply Henny. Argh, i'm going to struggle then especially if i lower it. I'll have to sort something out as i definately want to fit one.

Hi chaps, I like the look of the RS front bumper and want to fit one to my corrado G60. The problem i have is that my current standard front spoiler catches on my driveway (due to the nature of the slope) and the car hasn't even been lowered yet. I plan to lower the car and fit the RS front bumper. Does anybody know if the RS bumper sits lower than the standard front bumper and 90mm spoiler (ie will they have the same ground clearance?)...if so maybe its not a good idea for me to do this  Any help would be appreciated Tom

Hi chaps, My G60 has had the boost return mod done by the previous owner and the K&N breather filter on the ISV is caked in oil (causing the idle to be lumpy). Is it worth making the pipe from the ISV longer to try and stop this from happening? Are there any good cleaners out there than are a good alternative to the pricey K&N cleaning kit? Cheers Tom
-
Definately sounds like the alternator, check the voltage being supplied when the car is ticking over...
-
Whilst on the topic, the K&N on my ISV (boost return mod) is caked in oil. How does everybody else combat this or is it a case of just cleaning it out evry now and then? Is there anyway of feeding this pipe into a catch tank as well as the breather and then sitting a K&N filter on the catch tank (i'm not sure but that appeared to be the set up of a german G60 i saw in PVW a few years back???

Thanks for that info Roger, you've been a great help mate. I'll check those tonight...
-
Yeah, could be mate, i'll check the wheel bolts now. How do i check for a cv joint?
-
Cheers pal! I should have said, i had the mounts replaced last week which did sort a few other problems out but not this one.

Hi chaps, Just wondered if anybody can help with a strange noise i get. When im driving at any speed and dropthe clutch when i engage it again i get a knocking noise. It also happens when i change gear and engage the clutch. It sounds like there is some excessive play in the drivetrain somewhere but i don't know where to start looking. Any ideas anybody....please Tom

cheers shilakadaddy, thats the stuff!!

Nice one, i was ready to order an induction kit then. I'll stick with the airbox. Does it have any restrictors inside the box that can come out as well? Would i just be able to use aluminium ducting for my cold air feed? Where abouts is the carbon canister hole? Sorry for all the questions but i haven't had the corrado long... Cheers Tom
-
Cheers chaps, that what i thought.

Hi chaps, I have a G60 on an H plate. I would like to do all the servicing myself but i am worried that i'll lose money when i come to sell it because the book won't be stamped. Just wondered what everybody else does, ie keep a folder full of receipts for oil etc?? Cheers Tom
-
Thats not a bad idea mate, i'll have a look tonight and see what will work best... Cheers for the replies chaps Tom
-
Ok mate, i'll check tonight. Cheers for the help with that, i'll keep you posted...
-
Cheers Kev, i'll get my mate involved tonight.

It is an aftermarket wheel although this seems to be secure. It feels like the whole thing is moving (sorry for the lack of technical words) and by "thing" i mean the adjustable section forward...very strange!!
-
Tell me about it, just started snowing here. It'll be done in a warm garage. I'll have to find something to take the weight off the door. Cheers for the help mate....

It moves from side to side and up and down in all notches of the adjustment. Where abouts should this coin be glued? Cheers Tom
