  1. That does not look to bad to be honest as normally there are holes now,

it is behind that where the serious rot could possibly be along with the fuel tank support bracket

Unfortunately you will need to remove the rubber boot and fuel tank to investigate - seller might not be too keen on this.

What prices are being asked for corrados in Germany?

Geri its good job you got that Rad as now the Dasis are no longer available and the last few seemed to be sold in the £220 range- so no OE fitting radiators about folks.- my mate was looking for one tonight and a tried to help him but no joy.

i know that well with these cars its buy buy buy what you can when you can and store it.

has he still got the existing ? and get a new core.

Finally managed to get a set of Sebrings minus the caps after the sebring split rim industry is swallowing the whole stoke like a fishing trawler. .

Took the MK2 200 mile round trip to St Albans tonight and she didnt miss abeat- used only a third of a tank and flowed in with the motorway traffic - was a very sunny evening great to get out.

The sebrings caps x4 can be purchased off this seller for 50 euro for x4 (will need primer and paint) who I know well have purchased a few itmens off him before in regards to votex consoles. He is also making Corrado window scrapers at x2 for 50 euros.

Also worth noting my bumper and plastics after 6 weeks of Wruth plastic dye- awesome product.

In my experience, having seen both Corrado and Mk3/Passat mechs apart, they will all eventually break in the same way - usually snapping of the left cable guide.  Next most likely thing to go is the motor - you can check if the mech operates smoothly using an allen key and the small drive wheel in the motor underside. Most of this is down to lack of maintenance and lubrication - I read somewhere that the lube spec changed at one point and the service interval increased.

As said above - most second hand Corrado ones will be nearly dead already, this is why people go for the replacement upgrades or try to make up a working unit. The Passat one is the best fit to the curvature of the roof.

There is a project ongoing currently on the Corrado FB group to reproduce the left and right cable guides, and I believe they are nearly at prototype stage.

Hopefully someone will come up with a solution with a repair kit of some form.

Mine still works and i did strip and clean it with the correct lube etc but to me it still struggles and when i use it (once a year with our weather) i await the dreaded failure.

One thing i did was to replace the rubber ends on the arms (im sure it was on this forum) to ensure the arms lift as they slide along the mechanism

Thanks Geri it really was an hour or two work at home - just very happy that the solenoids where so ready available and cheap enough. There is very little info on the ground on vsr install so I will be recording my findings to help others..

Thats rare -  something for a corrado that is readily available and cheap enough!!

  9. Grim reading indeed when you think of all the plastics / rubber in our cars fuel distribution system

Reading on interesting to see synthetic fuels exploration (porsche).

You can do better then that Geri how about a VW Motorsport camshaft - would have to check it fits of course.  Would want to see evidence of course it is what it says.

seen it ands in in my ebay watch list

surprised it has not gone as it has been on a while - maybe its not a great duration as we all know most motorsport cams do not make great everyday road use
