Keep seeing an L-reg metallic grey VR6 around the Barton area of Torquay. Flashed and waved at you once, you waved back :)

There's already a slight hump in the floor of my boot with a space-saver. But my Mk2 Golf had a full-size spare and there was a giant mound in my boot... It made fitting stuff in bloody awkward, and looked terrible.

Two bottles of MT90 arrived today (£33 delivered from demon-tweeks). I'll probably get round to replacing the oil in the box over the weekend. One quick question before I do though: Seeing as the drain plug is towards the back of the box should I leave the car jacked-up when draining the old stuff? I want to make sure I get as much of the old crap out as I can. Cheers.

A friend of my mums had this happen to her several years ago. Some kids dropped a brick from a bridge and it smashed her windscreen, causing her to swerve off the road. Thankfully she wasn't hurt, it hit passenger side and no-one else was in the car. But it could have been fatal. The kids were never caught.

Yeah, I want to black-out the top half of my rear clusters sometime in the future, it would go well with the black paintwork. But I wouldn't do it to the original set, i'd have to buy another. I always like being able to revert back, just in case...

Agreed. The crystal inpro look is a bit common these days, and we don't want to be common now, do we?... Go for the red.

I am a kangaroo... though the doctor told me not to think like that anymore. he said its not healthy.

Ah, that would explain the 8 year old bag of coke i found in the floor of the boot. And i thought it was just icing sugar... silly me.

1. mine take a while to heat up... sometimes 5 minutes or so before i can feel anything... 2. i didn't know the wing mirrors were heated! 3. the outer ring on the headlight switch goes off when you go from sidelights to dipped, but the inner bit should light up. if i remember correctly.

Love that colour, one of my faves. Lookin' good 8)

You can find it on the Corrado Club of Canada's website: http://www.corrado-club.ca/

Cheers Henny. I assumed it was ok because nobody had said "nooo! don't undo that bolt, the car will explode" :) I just need to find a gigantic allen key now.

Thats an excellent price for the MT-90 (demon-tweaks, here). I was under the impression it was about £20+ for a bottle. Kev, when you mean two quarts you mean two bottles? A quart per bottle? Mr car's only done 68k, so I'm rather confused as to why the gears feel the way they do. My fear is that the syncro's a bit buggered, but i'd rather pretend that scenario didn't exist. I don't think the clutch or hydraulic system is in great order either, but that's a problem to tackle at another time... Its already been a 'pasta-month', I can't stand another...

How about Castrol SMX-S? Its much cheaper and I remember someone saying its nearly as good. I'm kinda short on money you see... The weight is definitely on the linkage, and the circlip is ok on the lever. Perhaps the cables need a bit of adjustment... I will grease them though. I dunno... it just feels notchy and grindy, like its coming deep from within... Maybe I should just throw a handful of sawdust in the box

Its perfectly colour coded, Rusty Brown (RB7V).

Okay, I took a picture, because I love technology.

Hmm.. When my roof is fully closed it sits tilted ever-so-slightly forward. The rear sits a fraction high, and the front dips just a little bit inside the surround. Is this normal? Or can this be adjusted?

The gear-shift feels like I'm moving the stick through a bag of stones. Its really notchy, lumpy and sometimes difficult to get into gear, especially second. I've done a few searches and decided that draining and replacing the geabox oil could be worth a go, along with some slick 50. What do you reckon? I'm still a bit unsure of where the drain and refill plugs are though.. From what I can see the refill is about halfway down the front-face of the gearbox. And the drain one is towards the back on the underneath. Am I correct?

The headunit that came with my C (apparantly original, non-Storm) looks exactly like the one in your picture, G60Dan. But it has the "for Volkswagen group" on the tape flap, like Dinkus', and is 20wx4, not 15W. They probably used a few different models over the years.

I see more Fiat Coupes on the road than Corrados. So that's one good reason. That and 5 years down the line you'd come out one morning and see nothing more than the leather-skins sitting in a large pile of rust on your driveway.

Meths and stanley blade it'll be then. Here's hoping it won't smell of fish.

How much of the sill do these stainless steel covers cover? if you see what I mean... Basically I'd like to stop the scuffing at the outer-edge of the sill caused by people dragging their feet into the car. This seems like a possible solution.

Anyone know a good tip to get them off without flaking or leaving a sticky residue? I want to fit my new Toad stickers, but getting the old ones off is leaving my window in a right mess  Thanks.

Okay, so just to wrap this one up (it gives me a sense of completion): I took the arch trim off over the weekend and peered inside the wing. After much prodding and probing and running water tests I found where it was getting through... It seems theres a small box section at the top of the wing nearest the door/windscreen corner, out of which the sunroof drain-hose terminates. Water was somehow collecting in this box section (probably because of a split drain hose) and sitting there till it eventually rusted a hole though the inner skin and into the car. Very silly design. Replacing the sunroof drain hose looks like a job from hell, so my solution was to drill a drainage hole at the bottom of this section of bodywork. I also liberally coated the area in underseal. Let's hope it doesn't leak anymore...

Looks good, Dave. What exactly is the rubber edging from? Anything similar I may find in a DIY store? I wouldn't mind fixing my own aerial like that.
