    my 16v

very nice mate, not normally a fan of red but the look you have there would convert me :) homemade indicators - whats that about?
  5. leave pinstripes in the spray tint, fidly but works well and avoids messing with green bulbs or transformers/ led's. my preference anyway. Good idea, what does it look like when its flashing though? flashes orange just fine, just put the pinstripes over the 'lensy' bits rather than the 'other' bits :) the lensy bit lets more light through.
  6. me too please :D keen to know what you think over next few weeks as mine need doing soon.
  7. here it is viewtopic.php?f=1&t=78232&p=907912&hilit=injector+flow+test#p907912 there's a one way diaphragm directly after the fuel pump, purpose is to maintain fuel pressure when ignition is off and make pump work less hard when initially priming/ starting, problem is the diaphragm ruptures and the system gradually loses pressure until primed again.

16v heads are ten a penny on eBay, get urself sorted with one of them, a machine shop will rebuild it for a quarter the price of a vege one.

    Brake Bias vr6 Wanted

sorry mate no part number, i had to grind mine off due to a corrossion problem so had to use a stainless nut/ bolt i had hanging around - not a truly perfect fit but does the job.

    Brake Bias vr6 Wanted

get the bolts from the dealer, the nut is welded to the bracket, make sure you coat them in copper slip in case you want to remove them in the future. mine were pretty much welded in with corrossion!

    NOT AGAIN

you'll need the head off to measure if it can be skimmed again, there's tolerances you can't go beyond to prevent valve/ piston clash.
  14. fickle thing k-jet, could be lots of things, if this is happening from cold with limited cranking to begin with, then my guess would be - leaky injectors, remove one and check spray pattern, davidwort did a great write up on this - faulty thermotime and/or cold start injector, remove blue connector from cold start when trying to start - running rich, either faulty wur or adjustment has been messed with. whenever i had starting problems on all my valvers i always checked for vacuum leaks first.
  15. dropped the fuel tank to repair fuel lines and assess rust under filler, then set up an electrolysis bath - got a set of 312 carriers cooking at the moment :chef:
  16. lol liking the photos, at least you have a snazzy gear nob and pedals to match the orange light, but what's with the headlights, different in every pick :) and are those headlight squirter things i see?!
  17. just buy one from a breaker, or off here or ebay pretty tricky to make properly.
  18. assume this must be the g60 that held the record for the fastest average continuous speed over 24hr for a supercharged car?
  19. yeh worth a go :) maybe more of a darker rather than a blingy gold tho.
  20. same as peteg60 i used ebay specials and working fine for now... around £50 for pair.
  21. don't get excited about my unreliable comment guys, its made in consideration of same points you raise - primarily age - occassional faults/ issues are an expectation i had when buying all mine (and continue to have) and i think its unrealistic to expect trouble free motoring from a motor which is at least 15 yrs old. original post seems tongue in cheek, so i'm sure portent realises this!
  22. nah i don't think that's suitable, as vr6 says just get a large socket, i think its 36mm too. if not one of the chain or strap ones work well, but i've mishapen filters with them before.
  23. yes. now get one bought and deal with it like the rest of us!
  24. to help convince you to keep it :)
  25. if there in tolerance I read you can actually rebuild tappets, bit fiddly due to component size, but can be done. there's a guide on vortex/ club gti, plan to investigate when i do mine.
