Yep shaun told me all about that unfortunate event. It was taken from outside a mate's house . He had just had the car resprayed 2 tone flip paint and spent a healthy amount on alarm/immoboliser. Top guy shaun is he signed my happy mondays records for me and spent ages chatting bout the corrado.

Oreet everyone. A couple of months ago my Corrado was used for filming in a upcoming car show apparently to be broadcast on the Travel channel. From what i could make out it is to be based on 90's celebs driving cars they used to own , Shaun ryder was driving my corrado and the show is hosted by paddy mcguiness. So keep ur eyes peeled for that some nice exposure for the corrado im sure.

I had a similar problem pal. I put about half a roll of PTFE tape round the elbow and its never leaked once . might be worth a shot before buying a new rad ? Sent from my LG-H635 using Tapatalk

Obvious check I know but are you getting good spark on all 4 plugs ? From what your describing it does sound very immobiliser related , let's the car fire then kills the power within a second or 2 . Also a problem a had once was that the little pressure valve on the fuel rail had vibrated loose and caused rough idle almost to the point if cutting out. Easy to check, it's on the drivers side of the fuel rail and it's a small Allen key .

Did the 16v's have idle stabiliser valve ? Located on back of throttle body.

Little tip for the ignition switch 😋 it is held in by microscopic screw , put a little bluetac on your screwdriver to hold the screw steady, it goes in at a really awkward angle . I had my head resting on the break peddle . Plenty of huffing and puffing should get it sorted.

Wouldn't fitting a kill switch constantly reset the time and trip mileage every time you flicked the switch? I had a kill switch on my old 84 mini didn't matter on that basic as can be.

My fix to this issue on my vr in remove the lower plastic surrounding the steering wheel grab hold of the big wireing harness and give it a little wiggle . I've had Bo issues since.

Ye for me the aux pump keeps pressure of the matrix. I put a new one on after the plastic outlet pipe corroded away taking a lot of coolant with it.

Sounds belting that pal! I'm a postman and have noticed a few modern classic magazines in my mail recently. Issue 2 featured mk2 gti , pug 205 and Renault 5 gt. Great news about the Corrado exposure.

Electric water pump is really easy and it takes some strain from the heater matrix, I ran mine on just the main water pump but to me I could tell it wasn't cooling quite as good so I would recommend replacing the electric pump. As for filling the system I basically put a bottle and 3 quarters of coolant in and rest water, run the engine with expansion tank lid off watch the bottle for the coolant dropping as the engine takes in more coolant and top as per. I then wait for bubbling in the top of the expansion tank knowing this will be pushing air out the system. Lid back on tank and jobs a gd un.

The golf vr6 gasket IS different I can confirm. The holes on the golf gasket don't line up with the Corrado throttle body . I ended up using gasket paper.

Not sure about the duty cycle but its really easy to take off and clean just pull off the hose going to the throttle body unplug the electrical connection and be carful not to damage its little heat shield. Carburettor cleaner is probably best for cleaning it up with. I also used contact cleaner to clean the plug . Mine idles better after cleaning so good chance it will stop your cutting out problem.

No checked that mate there in correct positions. Ye I will keep an eye on fluid/oil levels.

Ye I read that to mate might well be the case. Been a little worried with the Corrado recently I've got white coloured smoke coming out exhaust and after putting the old temp sensor back in just to stop the fans going mental MFA is saying 5.8mpg 😨 hoping the smoke is due to weather getting colder now

Hiya lads basically I've put fresh coolant in the vr today and whilst I had the cooling system empty of fluid I put in my new black temp sensor into the thermostat housing. now when I turn the ignition on the cooling fans kick straight away on full chat even though the engine is cold, I don't have aircon and its a manual gearbox. I'm baffled the sensor came from heritage and is black 2 pin with a little green line painted on the sensor anyone any ideas why the fans are coming on straight away.
