  5. Ok so if the igntion side of things have been checked than i'd say check the fuel pump relay sometimes these can have bad connections and give problems intermittently. like my no 18 relay has a buzzing sound every now and then and the heater/sunroof stop working.
  6. LOL @ steve! Well if they were getting lemons i'd be more worried :D
  7. The belt tensioner wasnt a problem to get off but to re-fit it it just wouldnt go down. I dont know about US cars but the 4 10mm bolt in the middle of the silencer are even harder to get to than the 13 in the middle. i did get any pictures of the porting, will do in the future.
  8. HMMMM id check the 5 mm allen keys on the boost return and airfilter pipe on the charger and jubilee clips on the rubber pipe which clamps on the the rallye outlet and plastci pipe to the intercooler.

  16. Heres my G-lader which was rebuilt by G-werks and fitted on a friday evening. Here's highlights of potential problems which can go wrong abit like mine! its simple than it seems and the alternator doesnt need to come off either! Potential problems: 1. Oil banjo bolts breaking buy these in advance or do it at a time where you can nip down to a vw garage. (1x 13mm and 1 x 14mm) 2.Allen Key bolts rounding off, use a good quality allan key 5mm and 6mm needed. use a hammer to tap them in good and proper (do not use lubricant or Wd40 in the head of the bolt it'll make it slip more). 3.The belt tensioner not going down, i tried a few methods but the best one was to use a plank of wood and wedge it under body and lever it so it pushes down on the tensioner use a pair of pliers to manouvre it into place. words to be added soon, im off to southend now to chill!
  17. Sorry, but what are you talking about????

  20. Trying to build an ICE install and bought a sheet of MDF to make a false floor for the boot, cut it using the template of the boot carpet and made a pigs ear of it.......has anyone got pictures and diagram of making a flase floor in the corrado as the boot floor is uneven and makes this job a headache. Thanks in advance
  21. Check the Distributor cap and rotor arm, as its at the bottom it is more likely to be at fault, especailly after the rain we had last night
  22. i doubt you can do anymore damage by trying to start it, had a cambelt failure (caused by tensioner) on my 205 gti at a similar speed, only one valve was damaged luckily

    corrado won't die!

i'd go with ignition swith too
  24. yeah i think it was originally designed for a flux capacitor
  25. Erm, the engine is classed as an 'interference engine' which means that valve damage is likely to occur with timing failure, however if you were doing 20 mph, then i guess your revs were fairly low, unless you were in 1st/2nd! The head will most probably have to come off, and if your lucky only one or two valve may be bent. Could ber worse, could be a high speed cambelt failure on a 16v
