18" Audi S Line Alloys.....what they worth?
jedi-knight83 replied to Bora Bora's topic in General Car Chat
hi, firstly its 95% likely that they are replicas and not the audi ones. If they are audi ones they must be the TT ones as the PCD from the RS4 are wrong. OEM ones are about £350 per wheel new Replicas are about £80 per wheel new To give you a rough guide...i just bought RS4 replicas today and paid £670 and they are fitted with Toyo T1-S tyres -

Cheers VR6.. i did have the alu mirrors (they were a £500 option when the car was new) but they were a bit bling bling for my liking so i swapped them for the colour coded ones -
Check out my new alloys. IMO the best looking wheel on the market still!! more pics can be seen here http://www.nathanwillits.com/cars.htm

Ah the beast returns.... i think there was another owner in between myself and shad.... but when i sold it it had just been restored... although i have to say i was never please with the ease that the newly painted bonnet chipped!! Looks great though now!! although i still love those wheels!!! dont change them!! nice work all in all though Nathan -

yeah could have been much worse.. in this pic.. see the silver car..i was about 100meters back from where that is when the lorry showed up at the exit..and he came straight out..didnt stop atall.. didnt see me obviously.. i slammed on brakes and tried to go down his offside... probably ended up hitting him doing about 30-40mph Completely inexcusable though!!! this was where the lorry driver came out from...the size of those give way signs!!! he hasnt got a leg to stand on -

its all sorted through insurance.. he and about 3 other cars stopped... they all gave me their numbers and said they saw what happened.. he admitted liability nyway though so its all done. well done to direct line thought... crashed at 1pm... car in bodyshop and parts ordered and loan car on its way to me and all by 3:30pm... thumbs up for once!! -
at 1pm today i was out in the lovely sun going to get some lunch when a lorry decided to not pay any attention to the give way sign and pulled right onto the FAST LANE of the dual carridge way on which i was traveling... slammed on brakes but hit his offside rear and did this its already in the bodyshop and i have a 1.6 astra (new shape) to keep me going. should be done in a week or so.

Mine is a 2001 Y plate with 40k and i paid £13700 which more than a grand off the asking price! £10k will get you a pre face lift with 60k - 70k miles if you lucky..not many under £10k though Because i didnt want the car to look like i had crashed into a halfords store!! the alu ones were ok but to the untrained eye looked like cheap add on covers... the blue ones dont draw any attention and a less likely to get nicked aswell!!! mmmmm nice... that was my first choice colour combo but i couldnt find one at the right price and the noggy came up at a good price so i caved and went for it... part of me wishes i had waited for black with silver now though :(

thought i'd update this thread... no new pics yet though..hopefully this weekend if its sunny! have discovered that the S3 suspension and general geometry set up is pretty poor to be honest! the corrado was alot more confidence inspiring!! i have already had it sideways... not through choice i might add!! so on the shopping list for the next few months. MTM replica alloys 18x8" H&R lowering springs bilstein sports dampers JBR adjustable rear tie bar R32 rear ARB custom geo setup oh and the Alu mirrors have been changed now for colour coded blue ones will hopefully post some more arty pics up this weekend. cheers
-
hi forty. yeah i set the dampers as they are and there is pretty much no bouce anymore... its definately the springs you need to change. yeah i dont know why i sold the corrado...especially after having the S3 sideways last night!!! understeer then oversteer... need to look into suspension mods asap i think!! :onfire: mind you... i had just been karting so maybe i was driving a bit too enthusiastically?
-
nah the pads and discs are fine... pagid FR pads and VW discs all about 9 months old. may be worth doing a brake fluid change though. one of the few things i never actually got round to doing yeah it went with the schrick. really didnt want to have to take it off cause it suits the car so well!!
-
ah hello there. glad you enjoying my old car!! after driving my s3 for a while, i noticed the corrado brakes were very poor when i did your test drive. If you go onto different forums like vr6golf or jct29 you may find some second had 288 brakes? as has been said i did have all the parts but sold them a few weeks before selling the car. sory bud. 288's are the only cheep option if you want to keep those 15" wheels (WHICH YOU DO :D ) or aparently the willwood 4pot caipers fit aswell but there more money! only real way for you to soften that ride significantly is to fit those H&R springs i told you about. there about £150 and are ALOT more refined.

hmmm, just back from a pub lunch......... and beer... burp so what is your hire car?
-

-
 well the corrado has gone... hopefully to a good home.. keep your eyes peeled if your around the Brentwood, essex area as that is where it will be now. I will email the guy with the forum details and hopefully it'll be around here still for a while. oh well... clock is ticking.. keeping my eyes open for another VR6 bargin now as another project  was fun while it lasted.. and went from this .....to this on a good note though... the second hand market for corrados (well for VR6 corrados) looks very strong even for xmas time!
-
