so what it the engine? 1.8 thats obvious it says 5 valve... is that 5 valves per cyclinder? so its the infamous 20v people talk about? aparently there was a face lift in 2001 aswell. 225 bhp, leather recaros..(and have you seen the recaros...proper ones not the crappy corrado ones :roll: ) xenons, 4wd, turbo...oh dear. im in trouble.. better book me a test drive and hope i hate it otherwise it looks like my mind is made up wonder what the insurance will be like?

...which will spend its life in bits being fixed cause alfa are poo! :lol: Dont get me wrong. i love the rareness of the corrado and the purr of the vr6 and im not fed up with the speed atall.. just the fact its old and my heater dials are getting stiff and it rattles and is annoying .... and i like the look of the s3.. we will see.. i'll test drive a few first to see what i think. Id prob look around the 12k - 14k mark. i have seen some late 225bhp versions with lovely black leather recaro, 50k, xenons, bose, etc for about 12k

sorry... but im board of the corrado again.. love afair was re ignited briefly when i got the paintwork and the schrick done but im board of the rattles and squeeks. what i really want though is an S3....what do you think of them? i dont know much about them to be honest? 1.8 turbo.. about 220bhp arent they? or are there different specs depending on age? any advice or comments. ta

adambob, the link in my signature told my power results. You may see a little more gain with a remap but probably nothing huge. Its amazing how different the car feels though! doesnt feel lazy anymore. I was lucky. I paid £600 for my schrick. if you buy it new from america you can get it for £1100 ish or they pop up on ebay now and again for about £900 ish

the schrick vgi is great but will probably need a remap aswell so always budget another £350 ish for that! the schrick 268 cams are very good aswell but are pricey!!! personally i dont like the sound of forced induction.... especially on an engine that wasnt designed for that purpose!

daveh, get some contact cleaner from maplin or a similar store, spray on the ecu and the plug and then put the plug into the ecu a few times to clean it all up. ECU from VW would be £200 upwards i guess??? from ebay... £30 - 40

Well i bought a spare ABS ECU from ebay.. got it for £30. Old one is easy to get out...just one bit of trim and a few bolts. Anyway the old one had horrid green corrosion in the connectors.... so i cleaned up the plug and fitted the new one and put vaseline around the edge of the plug to hopefully stop it happening again.... ...anyway been a couple of days now and no ABS light yet...fingers crossed 8)

so i wonder what a unichip would do to mine if im already getting 196lbft at 3900rpm?

ah...i presumed that other figure was power..... so..your schrick only made 185 lbft at 5594rpm before the uni-chip... :? agreed that stealths looks more detailed...but its still a pretty big drop and im sure mine wouldnt have just 'smoothed' out the drop??

thats wierd....and thats after the uni chip?? how come your power is so low and look at the size of the flat spot after the schrick kicked in!!?? It makes my plot look even wierder now! MY PLOT

lol, as i say i bought mine at that price but i dont have any others....yet... all im saying is..it is possible..if you look hard enough.. to find cheap schrick manifolds

well....i did get mine at £600 ...and to be honest if i get any more they'll be going straight onto ebay..starting price £600 :mrgreen:

not as good as £600 :lol: beat that... 8) £950 for a new schrick isnt too bad though. presume you get a warrenty and all that.

i only applied today..i have applied for the previous 3 series and had nothing! today i just applied for every available day on the website and they phoned me up about 3 hrs later :lol: just gotta decide which one of my mates gets the other set of tickets now...and its needs to be a 50/50 split between guys and girls :(
