  1. cool, thanks for that andy....that does look very classy actually!!! did he just use thin bits of masking tape then?? as kev says surely it would bring the tint up with it when its peel'd off!!! think thats how i'll do mine then but without the stripes over the reverse lights
  2. i'll get my coat  i was only kidding...honest...
  3. ive just had a stupid idea and doubt i'll go ahead with it. what if i make up a template of the vw logo to fit on the indicator section and then spray the tint over that and then take it off and do one more coat so its not left completely orange...so then when it flashes the VW badge will show orange ???  what do you think?
  4. could only find this pic of his lights not bad from a distance but i wonder what they look like close up?
  5. thanks for that pic pablo... they look pretty good and i reckon you could get away with another coat if you say there still shining through orange. definately think i should leave the white bits now though..... no offence :)
  6. who is asim? you mean green through the brake lights wont work so its no good to test it that way or green bulbs wont work full stop? was gonna sell the spare set on providing the tints went ok but i guess its an option cheers
  7. agreed with the white bits left as they are....thats the way i was leaning anyhow i think it fails the MOT if it doesnt shine orange so you can avoid all the fuzz you like but your still gonna have probs every year. i'll try a green bulb before i do it (i'll try a green bulb in the brake section throught the red lens to see what it looks like. not sure about leaving strips un tinted or less tinted...think that would look worse than all orrange to be honest. do you have a pic of yours kev?
  8. Right, just bought some spare rear lights incase it all goes tits up, gonna go to halfods tonight aswell to get the spray tin of tint spray how many coats is suggested from those of you that have done this? did you leave the reverse lights white or tint the whole lot? has anyone played with different colour bulbs or are the standards bright enough to still shine orange? should i laquer with anything afterwards or is the tint by itself good enough? thanks.
  9. im suprised they considered using a modified car. surely it wouldnt have been a fair test then..... Top Gear got it right and borrow Nick's mint original VR6.
  10. true...i thought mine was gonna split when i pushed the old bearing out....but you just have to cut enough of the lip away and then get the old one out pretty quickly and its ok..
  11. ssssupercharged...! this is the arse hole that was selling leathers for £500.... i know lets find him and shoot him :D :D j/k....i dont really shoot ppl i pay others to do that for me.... seriously though if you wanna piss around do it in the off topic area.
  12. why??? its a bit fiddley but very cheap to just get the bits and do it yourself
  13. i went through that last week....and yesterday.....and.....oh yes...just now! but i keep on buying stuff for it and too be honest now i have done my belt and tensioner the engine id so much more quiet!!! but i cant believe that was the only this responsible for all that noise before.... i give it a week before my rattley engine starts again  Also booked in for new exhaust and some body mods and now looking at buying new alloys  depends how much you like driving at the end of the day. but in the words of long haired pop legend jon bon von ron ton jovi.....you gotta keep the faith
  14. that looks ok i guess. didnt really want to faff about with spacers.... the vr6 offset would be different anyway so it may fill the arches out even more compared to ur g60
  15. cool 8) thanks for that.... what would the offset be on a 7 incher (said the actress to the bishop  ) i guess it would be about 35mm?? should fill the arches out nicely.. just need a quote on the tyres now and a chat with mr barclays
  16. as a new car, its not bad.....but i dont think it can be described as a replacement corrado...i dont think its even gonna be called a corrado....probably just call it a golf coupe or something (as that is what its based on) some interesting stuff on that site.... including a folding hardtop passat!!!
  17. pic thumbnailed-vr6storm http://retractable.free.fr/uk/index.html
  18. doesnt she mean the new C concept (4 seater with folding hardtop)... been in the press recently and has a 2005 release date.
  19. huh....i dont understand....u.n.l.o.w.e.r...... nope, cant get it...even asked a couple guys here at work at they were as stumped as it was!!!  back ON TOPIC..... i have this problem aswell but im getting a new exhaust fitted 11th sept and i'll get him to make sure there is no knocking before i leave the garage :)
  20. ha,, I WOULD!!! i would hide it in a garage until its put back to a more standard look.... $16k would be more like it for the eingine though and then sort the styling over time!!! keep us up to date!!
  21. noooooo.... i'll just get a big drill and make them 5 stud!! 8) got a sinking feeling though your wish will come true and it will be 4 stud only :(
  22. Very japaneesey biggerbigben, looks cool. love your new wheels aswell al la second pic.... ..hey i should get some of those skinny wheels for my car....will go nicely with my 'bog roll' exhaust 8)
  23. so your after these 6 spoke wheels aswell? ha we'll all end up with our cars looking exactly the same
  24. thats alot of stuff you'll be changing back...is it really worth buying the car in the first place then??? is it just the engine your after really!?
  25. oh no worry. did you find anything cheaper than £517 then?? add decent michelin tyres (which is what i want to get) and you looking at over £800  damn i hate spending money.. any idea of the weight of them yet aswell?
