you know iv got a good feeling your right on this! ,
-
yep priced genuine ones up at i think it was £112 trade or £141 !! i think was the price! finding second hand ones is abit harder then i thought , the damage! its the part the keeps it pinned down! it was fine before but i got a feeling its just going to kick up, might try it,
-
damn seems like this is a common problem, my first initial thought was the subframe so i checked those ages ago and there very tight {they didnt budge },so i dont think thats the problem, i replaced both wheel bearings awhile back, as far as i know i did it the correct way, and as i cant get any free play in the wheels thats a good indication, im also prety sure this noise was around before i did the wheel bearings anyway, if it was anything to do with the rack wouldnt you be able to feel it through the steering wheel?,
-
yep, thats the puppy! with a smiley face like that , im guessing you dont have one for me :(
-
{its not a knocking noise its a realy dry cracking noise }im not sure if it does it both ways i know for a fact it does it when the wheels are locked over turning left, fishwick i aint replacein no steering rack lol, like yours mine is fine to drive under normal conditions other then the crack which only happens doing 3 point turns over rough terrain, other then needing wheel alignment, think i might just order genuine track rods , ends , and balljoints, arb drop links, do it all then get alignment done n dusted once and for all, i know the alignment aint gona fix the cracking noise but it needs to be done, aint gona get around to properly looking into this untill late next week,

LOL ! sounds like the symptoms of that would be more then a cracking noise tho? i did replace the n.s outer cv awhile back for non genuine cv, but im prety sure the noise was around before that just not loud, well see next week..

Thinking of buy a Corrado! Have a few questions
VW_OwneR_85 replied to p0l1wrath's topic in Newbies Hangout
hi, the sunroof might not be a problem , i thought mine was broke as i could only tilt it , my friend showed me how the switch works, you pull down to tilt or pull it towards the back of the car to slide, was very happy to find out that my sunroof works as it should :) mirrors could be an easy fix, mine didnt work until i found the spade connectors in the door had corrosion on them , a quick clean up and they work, 5minute job. imo the only thing you need to worry about is bodywork and rust! parts can be replaced like for like easily , so dont worry about bits and bobs that need sorting theres plenty of parts on here forsale in that section , just get the best condition body you can find, -
yea its prety damn loud and sounds very dry so i dont think it will be a problem for someone to hear it, i guess a cv joint could do this aswell? although i dont get any other noises associated with worn cv joints everything seems spot on !

whats black made of rubber and metal and bends like a bannana ?! the f*^%$£ window peice that im after!!!!
-
hi paul, prety sure i got one but wont know untill tomo, what price is fair?
-
havent had a proper look into this yet, but if im going slow and doing a 3point turn on full lock over a small bump i'll get a fairly loud cracking noise! sub frame bolts tight, no play in either front wheels, and nothing which looks out of place, its done it for as long as i can remember but now seems louder which is why im gona sort this out soon, anyone had this issue? i did the top mount bearings when i did the shocks so i doubt its them, the next thing im gona try is turn full lock both ways whilest stationary, then i'll do a 3point turn with a friend alongside the wing to see if he can hear it, any other suggestions??

arch/stick would burn straight through ya panels so its not exactly what you want for body work, a nice little mig is what you want for body panels . i dont know much about tig other then the welds can be very neat and tidey, think its more for welding where your welds are on display? like on stainless steel handrails, hand made bike frames etc
-
, i use a siegen mini mig 130, its cheap as chips, my m8 got it on special offer for like £250 but looking on ebay they seem to be around that, its a gas mig and it goes through gas like anything! at £15.00 a bottle it is a pita! so gas less would be the choice if i was gona buy one, mig welding is easy your pick it up inabout 5minutes!, point n shoot!
-
forget what i said above about takeing 2weeks insurance out to drive it! the weathers been absolutley crap! so on with drivers door! some pics that arent above and some tips for anyone wanting to do this themselves old shoddy n dodgey! cut out a sqaure thats big enough for the A6 moulding to sit in! from here you can adjust your handle so its sqaure with the body lines, getting it sqaure and in same position as passenger side { 75mm in and 35mm down from edge }then mark the outside! cut on the inside lines for a nice tight fit! now get the mechanism working ! as you can easily pop it in or out and make any mods, far easier then when its all welded up, the space is very limited!
-
bump for good measure!, still need one! one of you must have a spare complete drivers door kicking around?! strip it and sell me the trim!
-
LOL iv already shown it off enough hehe, ;)
-
i have a pair of good working door handles with a key removed from my raddo, no longer needed as i now have audi handles, £60.00 posted
-
must of been a tough decision to make, couldnt imagine haveing to sell mine
-
my old mk4 golf gti was 5x100, imo 16's with a 45 tyre is perfect on the corrado,
-
hi , im after the seal/trim fitting that goes across the horizontal edge {the one to the left of the wing mirror} of the drivers door, as mine has split on the inside.
-
good stuff! you seem to be missing a gearbox though ;) im doing this conversion soon as i get my loom back, already got the immo and immisons stuff defeated on ecu , which engine is this? i got the BDE
-
i was gona do that on my old mk4 golf, the lighter is in the ash tray in the perfect postion, never got round to doing it,
-
yep eaxclty, that is a dilema! also think of its value in a few years time, gona watch it and see how much it goes for.
