spotted a blue m reg C going north bound on the A21 at aprox 10.10am between north farm round about and tunbridge, i was driving a silver transit going the other way, i did flash my lights and put my hand up but the driver looked a bit bermused!
-
i had the issue of losing on those clips plus one of the tabs had broken, so i made some replacements from some stainless steel including putting the bend in to hold the light surround a bit fiddly but do able!!
-
if this is still for sale i will take it at said asking price.

What do you use to keep your engine bay plastic black ?
goozie replied to VWVW's topic in Engine Bay
as like WD40 i use GT85 which i prefer to WD40 as have found with previous cars where people have used WD40 to protect the ht leads it can leave a hard shell if not wiped off or in to the platics/rubber. -
i'll take the drivers side if you still have it?
-
no one has actually said they will take it!! so if it's not against the admin rules, and the pm sent by red arrow doesn't say he will take it!? i will happily take this off your hands for the asking price.

i have a set of pistons in the shed that i got from swompy, but i am not sure if they are 2.9 or not! is there a way i could find out or tell?
-
i also have kept the VR off the road today and now she has a nice snowy jacket!! the main reason for this is due to my location and the lack of traffic keeping the snow from settling on the road! but that hasn't stopped my from going out to play in my MK3 golf tdi with a full set of semi off road tyres which make alot of fun specially around the 4x4's they look at you and wonder how you are getting round so well specially when you go past them!!!!
-
spotted this one at portsmouth hospital today, have seen it there a couple of times, i think it's belong to one of the engineers there!
-
air gun is the easiest way, as it was i didn't need to change the pulley's i just left the vr one on there and placed the belt in the right grooves, the only thing i did have to change was the 2 pin plug as the seat one has an oval end, and the vr is totaly square. other that than that a straight fit, on another note i'm having a 120amp alternator rebuilt but got a qoute for a new one can't remember if he said it was 130amp or 150amp for £130 plus the dreaded vat not a bad price but can't stretch to that at the moment!
-
the alternator from a seat ibiza will fit all you will fit all you will need to do is change the pulley, i recently put a vr alternator on a ibiza which i was selling, it was w reg model ibiza if that helps

i'm interested in the wind deflectors how much with postage?
-
like i said i feel that it the 2.8 is better, makes the car a little bit more responesive, but that is only my opinion without any actual figures to say which is the better i suppose we will never know!?
-
i fitted a 2.8 polished manifold to my vr and found it to be a bit better than the orginal, my therory behind this is, the 2.8 has a smaller plenum in width, so i assumed that the air flow would be more direct to the to each cylinder! and not just circulating in the larger 2.9 plenum, i may be wrong and i'm sure a guru on here will be able to put us right?
-
is the BMC air filter still avaliable? if so will you take £90 posted?

And here we go again with a bit more to add to the weekend projects! Finally got the wiring sorted on my vdo gauges with much appreciated help from the forum members but mainly david wort and jsc999, but me being me went a bit further with install! i took the vdo gauges apart and cleaned them up but whilst they was apart i took the original lights out, i stripped these down to change the bulbs for led's and with a bit of tricky soldering did manage to get them all back together, and i must admit i am really pleased with the whiter lighter from behind which has now given me the urge to do the main dash!
-
ok thank guys, will try and get it fitted tomorrow if the weather lets me!!!
-
ok thanks guy's but have a slight issue with dave saying the brown is earth and jsc saying G druck is feed from sender, because they are they the same wire eg brown goes into the numer 1 slot whcih is marked G druck or am i being thick there!? i also have another tech issue on the pressure switch it is marked g and mk i think? my question is which one for the gauges and which one for the buzzer or do you think it would be ok to just connect and find out!!
-
have recieved the pressure sender switch now and have installed it, no problems there, but i do have a problem with the wiring for the VDO gauges the wiring diagram that i found on here does not corrispond with wires that i have on the back of the unit and was hoping some would be able to shed some light on where they go for me? the wire colours are All brown Red and black Brown and white Black and white any help will greatly be recieved

i for one would be happy to pay a higher mambership of £15, what club could you be a member of that only cost £1.25 a month!? I agree that a £5 increase can be seen alot, so as an idea how about increasing it over 2 years so it's not so painful for some! i also like the idea of the first year for £10 to try and create new members. -
thanks for all the help guys, have now ordered one from heritage for £49.10 with express delivery,i didn't realise until i had paid for it, that are only a short drive from me, oh well save's a trip i suppose! next job will be wiring the bugger in with the vdo gauges! so please don't dissapear i may well call on you all again once again many thanks
-
many thanks for that, looks like i will have to get my self a new sender which is a bit of a bummer as i have recently replaced both switches! can any one give me some pointers as to where i can get the said senders? i know it's lazy but it will save me time trawling the forum and the web!
