  1. ...word on the street, Andy was talking to me last night, and I noticed it on the Bosch main website.
  2. OK, fair enough. Would have been £17.50 inc vat, but with P&P etc. so if they are local to you then you don't have to bother with P&P! john
  3. Would you like then cleaned and flow tested then? If so let me know as I have a friend with a machine who can.... John
  4. He has been out of the country for a few days, but is back now. I guess that he is trying to wade through all the messages that have been left for him during his time away.
  5. John M gets all his work done there, and remember they also rebuilt Woody's G60 with the RS2 front end around Inters time.
  6. TrimWizard based in Farnham but is mobile. Run by Andy Bryant who some of you may remember from this forum used to have a lovely silver VR C, and before that and now again, his late Mk2 8v. VW man through and through and will always do top quality work. Authorised Cobra agent, and will also do Hands free kits, Reversing Aids and also does SMART repairs, useful for those bumper scrapes and fag burns/vinly & leather repairs/dashboards etc 01252 310055 07748 963904 http://www.trimwizard.co.uk BTW used to be at Ian Bannings in Guildford, so if you took a VW in there, it was probably done by him..... John
  7. Virosol: Citrus stuff like muck-off but MUCH cheaper...
  8. What he is on about is the fact that they are both trusted with doing any work that they deem is required on the car, no more than that. If they think is needs doing, then it probably should be done, if they don't, well leave it alone. Trust, that the job will be done properly, without anything unnecessary being charged for.
  9. Just got some Sainsburies own brand myself. Just make sure it's smooth.
  10. The answer that you are looking for is smooth peanut butter. Check out the other tread about this. It works and leaves the cleaned areas black and the white deposits don't come back as it removes the wax from the grain of the plastic.
  11. Mentioned this a few months back but people didn't believe me! Stays like it should as well as it is a combination of the fine peanuts actually removing the wax deposits from the grain of the plastic, then the oil and the butter making it shine and giving it proction. BTW you don't need to spoonit on, or bri=ush it on in this case, as the same effect will be had if you just rub it on with your fingers and then buff it off with a cloth. In other words, you don't need to use so much or a brush! Glad people try out these tips in the end because 9/10 times they work. Saves using boot polish and all those other ideas as well.... John
  12. Nolan, there is no option on that, it has it in.
  13. Nolan, Probably go for the Saphir wax, and remember that you should use the Cleaner Fluid before the first wax application, and probably a Paint rubber as well to get the paint seriously smooth! PM me for more details and £ etc..... John
  14. Well, you live and learn. I always put my seat belt on before I drive off, because I don't feel secure without it on, but obviously I am in the minority as it seems to be the new 'cool' thing not to wear one. Foglights on a country lane are OK with me, provided that there are no other cars about. In towns or built up areas people should be more considerate and aware of the rules, as the fog lights are very annoying, especially when again it is 'cool' to drive with side lights on (a waste of electricity should be dips) and fogs on = muppets, nick me please! [/rant mode]
  15. Also check out the insurace wrt the 130-150 as I believe the grouping is quite a bit higher. A couple of mags have said that the 150 is great but the 130 is a better all round package comparing mpg against performance. 4mo or 150PD....150PD!
  16. Yup, clean, polish then wax and see what that does for the paintwork
  17. TBH if you are on a tight budget you would be better off getting some Megs stuff, probably the Stage 3 kit and give that a wirl. You have already smoothed the paint down by all the T-cut that you hvae used and what you really need is to clean the paint off and apply a wax to it, using a paint cleaner. The above mentioned kit should give you the results that you are after. T-cut is renowned for making it fade quicker than ever, and the AG SRP will make it look OK for about a week, then the fade will start again/has started, especially if it is outside all the time. BTW, no email received, so I guess that you went straight to the main Swissol site and ordered the book from there. The wax will not do the job on it's own, as it is only a wax, not a polish or a cleaner. You would apply this AFTER cleaning the paintwork first. You can get the results without resorting to a respray, just look at some of the cars on the Concours circuit, not resprayed and still Tornado Red.... John
  18. Or when you are getting some Megs gear, get the ScratchX as well. Lots of people use that with good results. Megs Clay bar/Paint rubber is OK, but it is very on the soft side and goes even softer once your hands warm it up, let alone if you use it on one of our lovely scorchio hot summers days (larf!)
  19. Neil, if you asked me about a Clay bar on Sunday you could have had one to take away.....
  20. Neil, you must be using it wrong mate! We will have a CHAT on Sunday..... Or if you want the Swissol Paint rubber, £11 delivered.......not as soft as the Megs one therefore easier to work with when it's warm! Foir those of you thinking about it as well, use a clay first, then use the Cleaner Wax. The results will be better, easier and quicker.
  21. Get some Virosol from http://www.olympiccleaning.com/ spray it on the wheels then after a few minutes wash it off. this will also remove any wax that you have put on the wheels..... While you are there also look at Brite glass cleaner, Activ-f shampoo and the screenwash, all clover chemical products, tried and tested....!
  22. Bookatrack.co.uk is at Goodwood this coming Thursday (full though) and again at the end of September. They charge £195 for upto 40 cars, with upto 10 on the track at any one time. Some of the guys at the meet have done this with them Andy. Neil, the only way you will do it, is to say to people 'this is the track, date, time, price etc' and then people book it individually. Otherwise it would be a logistical/financial nightmare!
  23. If you don't like the smell of the Gliptone stuff, then try the Swissol Cleaner and Milk feed.
  24. Marc, I will send some more of the Rustington locals your way in their automatic dodgems, just to make you feel at home, and also throw in a few hats and high steering wheels (can't see the driver...). I also believe there is a club for the old dears that can't park well, called the '30 Degree Club' or something like it, regarding the angle to the kerb that they obtain once parked parallel.... The also like to take the straight line over a two lane roundabout of you have noticed, which is great if you are on the inside, or just about to be!
  25. If you don't lie the smell of Liquid Leather, and some people don't, then give the Swissol stuff a try.
