Yes, definitely 5 litres from a plastic can from running dry, then 57 litres at the BP. Gauge says 15 gallons, but even when full it never reads 15, more like 13... Weird.

Hi, Managed to run out of fuel the other day (petrol gauge being dodgy), luckily had anticipated this and was carrying 5 litres of unleaded. Went to fill up at the garage less than a mile away, and the tank only took 57 litres, which I make 62 (maybe 63) in total. Anyone know why my VR6 tank would not take 70 litres (or 65 after the top-up)? I've got a pretty comprehensive folder of all the work done in the last 15 years, and I'm pretty sure the tank hasn't been replaced... thanks, Emma

Still looking for a set if anyone has one... thanks

Sorry, thread hijack. I'm after a set of these too, all mine have at least one clip broken and I've just had the wheels refurbed so would be nice to get some quality caps to finish them off. If anyone has a set for sale please let me know.. Cheers, Em

The "what I did to my Corrado today" thread...
EmGreenVR6 replied to Jim's topic in General Car Chat
Picked my Corrado up from the alloy refurbishment shop this morning, all 4 original Speedlines done in OEM silver, plus 2 new front tyres. 3 were buckled and have been corrected. They look lovely...a recommend for MyAlloys in Basingstoke, did a great job. Just the centre caps to clean up now. -
Think I saw the same silver Corrado, N-reg, again near Stratfield Saye. I waved, they waved back. Unfortunately I was on my road bike, so they are probably very confused now. If you drive a silver Corrado and a grinning idiot on a bicycle waved at you on Saturday about noon, sorry that was me.

You're not far from me, Bullfinch, I drive up the A33 and along the M4 from J11 TO J13. There used to be 3 VR6s in my road alone, but not any more :-( Saw a TVR350 but that was it.

it's definitely a modern classic. Mine's a daily drive, but did spend a lot of time last night making it look as good as possible... I think the definition of a classic should be not how old it is, but what percentage of its value you spend maintaining it annually. Definitely be over 100% for the last year for me!

Saw a silver Corrado (no idea what flavour, sorry) just approaching the A33 near Stratfield Saye last night (3rd April) about 5pm. I managed a pathetic wave but was in such a post-work haze that didn't realise what it was until too late.

Corrado Heat Shield Hood Liner (Group Buy 2014)
EmGreenVR6 replied to Southie's topic in Group Buy Feelers
Hi, any update on when these will be available? Another car going in for some body work done, including bonnet, so would be good to be able to fit this at the same time. thanks, Emma -
BMW Z3 M Coupe... If anyone is seriously interested in one of these, my husband is planning to sell his later in the year. Black S54 in very good condition with black/kiwi (subtle green) interior. It's a beautiful car, fantastic to drive and seriously quick. The boot is big enough for a decent size shop/weekend away, and the design features (inbuilt dog guard, cup holder, little storage nets) make it very practical. Only selling because we have 3 cars and a motorbike between 2 of us, and we can't get the large dog in it, so Mazda estate + Z3 M Coupe will be replaced by 535D... Anyway, let me know if you are interested and I'll give you a shout when it's up for sale... Em

Good luck! I too have a 150K+ VR6 and have spent the last 6 months and quite a few pennies, which all started off dealing with a seized front brake caliper. It's been up on axle stands having a complete brake, suspension and driveshaft overhaul, plus some other bits. Had the electric windows fixed and the rear spoiler and sunroof have stopped working. I think it's a never-ending list of to-do jobs - as soon as you tick one off, one or more get added! Not trying to put you off, I love my car - I think you have to! It feels a lot more solid and a whole lot less rattly after the work, and it's reassuring knowing that things have been done. All the best, keep us updated with progress... Em

Hi, Will these be cut to fit with the proper shaped bit for speaker cones? We replaced one side with a DIY job, but it's difficult to get the shape right where the membrane isn't flat. cheers, Em

Hi, been daily driving 50 miles per day for 3 weeks since starting back at work (and the Corrado being back on the road). I bought 2 of those big silica bags from ebay, and misting problems have been minimal. The passenger footwell did collect a load of water the other day, but the door seal is torn at the bottom and I don't think the door fit is perfect after I had a fight with a bus (and lost) which pushed the rear panel in slightly. We've had massive amounts of water on the roads here (Berkshire/Hampshire), so I think it's a rare occurrence. I've been more careful about driving through deeper ones and haven't had a repeat. Spent some of Saturday cleaning around and under the scuttle so it's leaf-free. Got to say it's been great so far, a few things on the todo list but generally it's a pleasure.

Corrado Heat Shield Hood Liner (Group Buy 2014)
EmGreenVR6 replied to Southie's topic in Group Buy Feelers
Ooh, perfect timing as I opened the bonnet this weekend to find crumbling liner all over the engine. Fun. I would like a VR6 liner, no emblem please! Thanks very much. -
An update... Suspension setup, MOT passed and the Corrado is back on the road! Obviously not the best conditions atm, but I've been impressed with the Koni STR.T suspension (granted I only have some shagged 10-year-old Spax kit to compare it to...). It's riding a bit higher than the Spax kit, the reduction is 30mm from standard, which I think looks OK and is much more useable than it was. Feels firm but compliant over our rough local country roads, very nice on better quality surfaces and the handling is absolutely fine and predictable at speed. No awful crashing over bumps and potholes, and speedbumps are no longer fear-inducing. For the money I'm very happy with the result. Hope this is helpful. cheers, Em

Hi, how many are you after? I might be able to help... Em
-
Hi, we waited the 8 weeks for the Koni STR.T setup. They are on the car, but we have also stripped and repainted the brake callipers and done CV joints/boots and some interior work, so the car is still on rear axle stands. Going to bleed the complete brake system today, then wheels on and to The Phirm for suspension setup/MOT once the new front seats are in. Car should be back on the road hopefully in the next month, so will give you some feedback then! Emma
