2012 Corrado Forum Calendar! - All Over For Another Year!
_Meth replied to _Meth's topic in General Car Chat
As there appears to be at least some interest so far, what I will do is open up my email again for people to send their photo's to, and also wait for approval from the mods to do this, as I dont want to upset anyone. If you would like your corrado to be in the 2012 Calendar then send your photo's to the email in the first post. The photos need to conform to the following; 1) Highest Resolution Possible, 640x480 wont cut it unfortunately! 2) No more than 5 Photo's per car (Give me a chance of getting through them all) 3) Please dont email me photo's if you are not happy to have your car featured. I do not want to upset anyone. 4) It MUST be YOUR car, not one you used to own but have sold, or one you are buying - But YOURS. I will not put any car in without the owners permission - its not fair. So send them in to the email in the first post, I will use the first post as an update for everything so its easy to find the latest news. In the meanwhile I will be scanning through the pictures and filtering out the ones that will be ok to use, whilst hopefully I will get approval from the Mod team to do this again. So keep posting up if your interested / not interested, because once again the heat will be on to get this sorted out for Xmas! -
2012 Corrado Forum Calendar! - All Over For Another Year!
_Meth replied to _Meth's topic in General Car Chat
Honestly I have no idea at this point. Ive been umming and arring about offering to organise it all again, and just thought I would see if there was any interest in it again (as its a lot of work, I cant believe how much of my time it took up last year). Last year I think it worked out at about £15 posted 1st class. -
*********************************************************** CLICK HERE TO ORDER YOURS *********************************************************** LATEST UPDATE: I have had a number of emails since closing this down, asking if there are any more available and if I will be getting any more printed up. This is possible, but I would need a minimum order of 10. So, if anyone is interested in one of these calendars and would like to order one, either reply to this thread or email me at [email protected] and I will keep a list on this thread. If it gets to 10, then I will organise another print run, if not - then sorry guys :( *********************************************************** CLICK HERE TO ORDER YOURS ***********************************************************

:( have a good one! Take lots of pics for me lol
-
It is possible to do it with the dash in, just very fiddly. There is a great guide on here somewhere, and on the canada site. In all honesty i think everyone on here has had a matrix to do at some point, was the firstthing i did to mine! Im amazed theres any left without new matrixes by now lol
-
Wont be making this one either guys :( cars still off the road :(
-
Sounds good chris! Look forward to seeing the bucket seats and how you go about getting them in :) Unsure about the rollcage - but thats just me! Look forward to the possibility of both yours and mine there on the 11th! lolol
-
Lol that posters weak, let me know next time you need one ;)
-
Hmmm - im sure im busy again for this one! If not will roll on over if I still have mine by then. May well be up on eBay and here next week for sale. Depends if it gives me the love back that I deserve from it when ive fixed its latest problem.

Front hub carrier / wheel bearing housing / steering knuckle...
_Meth replied to _Meth's topic in Drivetrain
incorrect pinch bolt fitted by previous owner and not spotted by me :( Caused the ball joint to be able to move a small amount inside the carrier and over time has worn it away. -
My steering knuckle (as I call it) is now so worn that the wishbone ball joint just drops out the bottom, so I need to replace it. VW want £200 and GSF etc dont supply it. Scanning the world of eBay there is a set of MK2 golf 16v hub carriers : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-golf-mk2-16v-hubs-/260836711203?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3cbb145b23 Would these fit my early 16v? They look similar but I cant be sure - dont mind paying out for a decent set that WILL fit, but dont want to waste good money on something that wont work :( Thanks in advance!
-
You will see when you bolt it up, but you will probably need some washers / spacers for the front bolts as the front may sit a bit higher than you want. Thus making it a bit noisier and possibly leaky.
-
Check they've connected the plug behind it. Would they have removed it for any reason at the garage?
-
Hi rod, may be interested in coming down for a few bits - is the windscreen also available? Just got a massive crack in mine and £300 for a new one sounds awfull!
-
probably be a bit more noisy I would imagine

Rutland Water BBQ meet 12th June.
_Meth replied to revilo's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
Wont be there now. Didnt go to plan, still have hole in roof of car. -
Ok ive fitted a moonroof out of a passat the other night, went to test it - and it has the exact same problem as my corrado sunroof did... When you press either of the buttons (slide / tilt) it will sometimes budge a small small amount and then start making a horrible snapping plastic drilling kind of noise, like the motor gears spinning and jumping, or it will just make the noise straight away and not budge at all. With your fingers in the mech, you can push the sliders on the passengers side and it will move with a lot of force, but the left hand side doesnt want to go as far as the right hand side even when you do that. The only thing I have used from the old corrado system with the same problem is the motor - but surely if the motor was weak it would just do nothing and make no noise, rather than that horrid sound of breaking plastic? Im going to take the glass panel off and take another look over the weekend, but I realy couldnt see anything broken last night =/ Have I been unlucky and got a second sunroof thats knackered? Could it be the motor? Should I try and wire in the 6 pin passat motor to my 3 pin corrado switch? Is there anything I should look for when I take it off over the weekend, that would cause this kind of problem? Thanks in advance!

Window Rollers Group Buy: A few sets left
_Meth replied to Alex_G60_Fanatic's topic in Forum Group-Buys
Would be interested in enough for both windows - pm thanks :) -
Cheers for the info guys! Been doing some research on this but its hard to find definitive answers to specific's like this. Just for anyone that stumbles across this thread looking for the same info - 1997 is the crossover year between B4's and B5s. This one is a B5 and as such wont fit because the frames are different, from what I can gather. So you want Pre97 for a B4. Am now trying the Ibiza route, we shall see how that goes - currently looking at a 97 GTi. Fingers crossed! When I eventually get one through that works, I think its about time there was a "how to" style thread put up, so will take lots of piccy's for people to show how easy / hard it is to do, and whether mine fits or not! This will also have to happen soon, as my car is now leaking quite badly!

Can get a 1997 Passat Saloon sunroof from local breakers but not sure if the saloon one will fit, as everyone talks of estates... Can anyone confirm these are the same and should fit fine, before i waste my money? :( Cheers!

Shame about the weather but still a great weekend out! :) As for traffic jams, only traffic jam we saw was trying to get out of newquay on the sunday as there was something going on, took us an hour to get out onto the A30, must have passed 5 miles of stationary traffic lol

Possible dodgy MOT... can anyone give me some advice
_Meth replied to Peter Harper's topic in General Car Chat
Had this a while ago with a vehicle I bought. Call VOSA and speak to them, report the issue and the garage that carried out the MOT. They will then investigate the garage and based on the number of warning points the garage allready has, they will take appropriate action. The highly ammusing part is though, you cannot remove that MOT. Even if your car is falling apart on the seams, if its been given an MOT - its got an MOT for a year  They cant withdraw it. My worry with that is that I wanted to sell my vehicle on, as it was no use to me in its condition and was dangerous, but for that reason I didnt want anyone else to simply ignore my words and drive it anyway because it had this MOT on it, VOSA wouldnt cancel it. Stupid if you ask me.
