1. No mate, I still have them, I PM the other guy (derbik) but havent heard back. So if your after them let me know and we can sort something. Cheers Rick ---------- Post added at 10:02 AM ---------- Previous post was at 9:52 AM ---------- I know! haha I dont want to push my luck though. I just want what I paid for them plus the spacers and other bits etc. I do love the look of them on the car, but I think with my engine chewwing through oil and the bodywork getting a bit tatty I should really sell them and put the money towards where its needed!
2. Yep that's £350 for wheels and tyres, or £400 for everything. Don't really want to get rid without the tyres, as I'm getting rid to free up some room. So sorry but no part ex either. They need the spacers to fit otherwise they catch on the front calipers, they are et48 so with the 8mm spacers it changes it to et40 which isn't far off standard (et43) so it isn't much different, just sticks them out by about 3mm more than standard.
3. 17” x 7J Speedlines, Type 2110 in Silver, Good condition, no kerbing although one has a couple of chips in the lacquer, the centre-caps have a bit of moisture underneath and are going a bit cloudy. All with tires, 2 x Uniroyal Rainsport with about 3.5mm tread, 1 x Falken and 1 x Wanli with about 6mm tread. All tires are 215/40/R17. The wheels are ET-48, 5 x 100, I have been using with 8mm FK spacers which I can include with longer wheel-bolts all ready to fit. When I had them on my car it was lowered about 40mm and I didn’t have issues with rubbing. Wheels to be collected from Heskin (Nr Chorley) or if you want to sort a courier. If you need any more details or pictures just give me a shout. Asking for £400 for everything wheels, spacers and wheel bolts Or £350 for just wheels
4. Dont know whether this is relevant but mine seems to be fine using it day to day getting to work and what not, not using much at all, it can go on like that for weeks. Then when I drive from mine (Lancashire) to my girlfriends (Cambridge way) and it will chew through about 0,5 litres (top of dipstick to bottom) there and back, which is about 400ish miles Is this just because of the long motorway Journey at 3000-ish RPM? oil temp gets up to about 108, which i didnt think was too high.
5. Well 10 points to whoever said hole! Dear me... I have tried to dig out as much of the rust as I can, and then used some rust converter then some zinc primer to coat it. Although with no welding stuff i have had to just use body filler and try and build it up. Also while I was at it I thought id look at a couple of other areas too. Feeling a little in over my head! Hopefully it will be ok as an interim till I can afford the time and money to get it done properly at the body-shop.
6. Cheers for the replies guys, I'm going to take a brave pill and have a poke around in a min and see what I can find, will keep you posted!
7. Evening, I'm contemplating having a go as some rust over the long weekend.... and am just after a bit of advice what I'm best doing. I have a big bubble just under the filler cap, which i know can be abit of a problem, and also a bit just on the join in the back panel. I was thinking of getting a wire brush and sand paper on it, then go over with some rust remover, anti rust primer and some colour just to tidy it up as much as I can. Then when i can afford get it sorted properly. Just worried it may be a bit deep and i will end up with holes in the panel? Has anyone had much experience with this before as its going to be my first attempt. Cheers
8. I have some "blue igniters" on mine from C and R enteprises, seemed to be alot of people on here recomended them. Think they were about £70 or £80 too. Look really good quality and have never had any problems. Rick
9. Havent had any experience of them mate, but have a look at a few pictures of them already fitted to a car, i think they make the front look alot worse. There is something about the stock headlights that make it look just right. Each to their own like, just see if you can find a few pictures of them already fitted to a car and see what you think. If I were you I'd just get an uprated loom or make one (dead easy and instructions everywhere) and get a decent set of H4 bulbs, and if you want a little more then some 100w h3 bulbs for the main beam spots.
10. I wouldnt bother with HID bulbs in the standard headlights mate, the beam pattern is pretty bad, not awful but pretty bad. Its really apparent when your driving on a dark motorway and passing the signs you can see the reflection, or even a massive shadow if a car is infront of you. I ended up taking them off as I imagined they would be pretty annoying to other people on the road, not really people comming the other way, (because I never once got flashed), but for people in front, I thing the reflection from their mirrors would have been pretty annoying. On another note I tried some of the projector retrofit kits you can get on ebay, with a bit of hacking at some old reflectors to fit them in properly, the beam pattern is much better, although still not as good as a factory fitted car. The cut off with the standard lense it as good as if not better than the standard headlight with halogen H4 bulb, but with the intensity of the light it still is noticable how much light gets spread in all directions. I have also noticed without the auto leveling kits you have to aim the beam abit further down which means your mainbeams dont really illuminate as far as they would with standard Halogen bulbs. If all that makes sense? Just my experience anyway.
11. That Tequila, they have a wall full of it in a bar in Liverpool (Cava), every flavour you can think of, baked bean is a personal favorite.... id stay away from chilli though.
12. Was that you this morning mate giving the thumbs up? Just by the Ideal cas supermarket? I saw you but just at the last minute, seem to have a habit of doing that....only noticing the waves at the last minute then accidentally waving at the bloke in the following car!
13. Hi mate, just to check they are fine for fitting to a Corrado VR6 arent they? If so and there are no leaks or anything then i'll have them for the asking price. Sent you a PM Cheers Rick
14. Yer I thought maybe the battery, but got a full charge overnight and still couldnt start it, althought it could crank it for quite a while, and many attempts. But a new battery is on my list eventually as the AA said it failed the test, probably as I'd been trying to start the car for so long without success. As for VAG-COM I had a go myself with the VCDS-lite version, although by the time I hooked it up it started and there were no codes recorded, I belive there is something about if you shut off the ignition after the fault has occured then it wont keep it in the memory, will have another look tonight though! Thats if it doesnt start for so long that I cant get it to the garage before it closes! Should note aswell that this all happened after me fitting an uprated loom! Couldn't be related could it? The only changes to the car really are the addition of a +ve and -ve to the battery feeding the relays for the loom? i doubt it but nothing ever seems straight forward with grounding stuff and messing up other circuits! Morale of the story I guess, if it aint complely broke, dont fix it!
15. Hi all, just after abit of help, i have been trawling around on here for the past few days looking but still cant seem to get any direction. Little background: On monday night my car wouldnt start, was fine turning over, but just wouldnt fire, while trying to start it i could hear a relay constantly and erratically clicking from the fuse box, turns out its the fuel pump relay No 167. can also hear the fuel pump running in the back. After a while persisting, checking plugs fuel pump etc I managed to get it to start, (at the detriment to me getting a mahoosive electric shock checking for a spark!) then it ran fine all evening, everytime I stopped, it started straight away again. Then come Tuesday morning had the same problem, just kept turning over but not starting, fuel pump relay clicking away as the car was turning over. Since then I've had the AA out who tried bypassing the fuel pump relay, (still wouldnt start), then taking a spark plug out again to check for spark, which he said was fine. Eventually, as before if fired into life, and was fine all of tuesday evening. Then again this morning it wouldnt fire up again! the fuel pump relay is still clicking away and the fuel pump can be heard to be working. The AA guy mentioned it could be the crank sensor? but just looking for any advice on here? (appologies for the monster post) Thanks Rick
16. Haha mrs in the boot, wouldn't like to damage a wheel having it rolling about! Ha cheers for the replies guys!
17. Couple of questions....first i have a set of 17" Speedlines in my shed that I've been trying to refurbish over the winter but could do to get rid of them, they aren't perfect but not far from it, if any body is interested I could stick one in the boot so you can have a good look. Also...bear with me, with this being my first meet, Is this one for the girlfriend, or should I drop her off at the Trafford Centre?
18. Welcome to the forum mate! My word, there are loads of people here from round Wigan Preston way, although I have never actually seen another one on the roads! Im going to narrow it down abit, im in Heskin/Wrightington way. Hope to see everyone at the meet!
19. Looking good mate! sorry to hear about the oil, made me think twice because I need to take a load to the tip from the last couple of oil changes ive done, hopefully wont end so disasterously! Also those last pics with the new wheels! very nice mate.
20. I'm definately interested in this! Although at the moment my car is an absolute state, would be good to get some feedback and advice!
21. That sounds good mate, not sure if I'll be able to make it over tomorrow, would you consider posting them? And I'll give you £25 for the lamps plus full postage costs? No problem of not it just have to try and organise a time to pick them up.
22. What sort of condition are they in mate? What's damaged? I'm driving back home from bury st Edmunds to Wigan way on Sunday afternoon/evening so could pick them up then if that's any good? Where in midlands? Cheers mate
23. Just south of Preston mate, in-between Manchester and Liverpool.....pretty much the middle of nowhere! Travel down to Suffolk/Essex way quite alot though so anything in that region considered too I guess.
