apart from the usual broken glass under the back seats that i seem to find in most of the cars that i buy.....bought back my first satin vr from the guy who id sold it to and under the rear seat found a pen-drive with loads of tunes and stuff that i'd lost 18 months previous! Theres a little slot in the centre console on mk4 golfs that swallows bank cards etc under braking - we retrieved my mates gym card from there + a full history of parking tickets from previous owners, boots advantage card and book of stamps.

That is interesting....hmmmm. had my front 2 done but not the gearbox. think i'll look into swapping that one too then. out of interest, will you be going for the competition one or street?

5 days a week 2 junctions on the M1 to work....22 speed cushions on business park :pukeright:....looking a bit odd driving a stanced VR6 in a shirt and tie. 2 weekend days fully enjoing it!

white VR6 on dark coloured bbs? with dark spoiler parked up in north wingfield on saturday - had just walked to the chippy with mrs and dog. looked proper tidy...unlike the mrs...or the dog

yeah, fourth and fifth its nowhere near as noticable but its is deffinately worse than what it should be as ive never really noticed it in the previous vr's ive had but it is very pronounced in this one. Ive just got the bentley manual through the post...and quickly learned that i need VAG COM to make 90% of it useful :? so that will be my next pick-up i think. then i guess its a case of working throught the temp sensors etc. presume TPS would show up when scanned if faulty. I have just aquired an replacement ISV so hoping to fit it this weekend. will report back.

Have checked the response of the throttle in relation to the pedal and theres no lag whatsoever so ruled the cable out. I also find that if not carefull, when driving at slow speed, the car can almost end up kangarooing like a learner driver....thats why i keep thinking its a throttle issue, which led me to the throttle position sensor....but i dont really know what it does

im still suffering with this off throttle jerk. Have checked the dash-pot and it does appear to be damping and adjusting it hasnt had any real impact. Was wondering if it could be anything related to the throttle position sensor? if its reading incorrectly could this cause the quite violent off throttle lurch im experiencing?

Hi, I have the problems below with my VR6 daily that im currently looking into using the search function: big lurch/jerk coming off the throttle poor starting other that when left overnight Have noticed this mornig tho that even tho it starts bang on the button - it revs to a bout 2 1/2 k revs like im sat on the grid at the F1. it doesnt maintain these revs, just does it once almost like ive blipped the throttle? then settles back down to normal. just was wondering if this could be in any way connected to the above problems that i have or if anyone elses does this? it is idling a tad high when warm so am planning a clean out of the ISV and also will give the MAF a spray and wont be VAG COMing it until MOT in Jan...as long as its still running... but might be able to scrape together a few quid for a new sensor or relay. Cheers - Max

no worries, i have been away anyway. Nice one Dave thanks ... that would be great. do you want to pm me your paypal and i'll sort you out my address? how was it to remove? did you have to take any of the dash off or loom apart? im hoping for a fiddley but relatively easy fix :/ thanks for the other help/offers to lilfuzzer and GusPW

I ended up reading all about strange noises in the sky last night rather than solving the strange noises coming from my car :) ..and then got onto HAARP....which i understood about 3% of! but was strangly compelling watching. much better than pride and prejudice that the mrs had on. Im building my anderson shelter tonight and stock piling spaghetti hoops.

Silver valver parked on clay lane .....down't cross. Any one? not seen one on the move in ages round these parts (chesterfield).... tell a lie...saw a lowered G60 leaving the southbound M1 at junction 27 in the morning on my way to work about a month ago! totally forgot about that one.

Will the car crank if the ignition switch is to blame ?

im having some starting issues that sound similar to this. The car will always start but sometimes tries and tries, tries then dies or fires up straight away like theres no problem at all...and i know what you mean about it firing when you back off the key. i have noticed that there is a relay ticking randomly while im trying to start and think that its No.109 (ecu relay). am currently working my way through all the old threads trying to work out if its the relay or the ignition switch thats acting up? can anyone shed any light and save me reading the other 17 pages? :) -
