  1. I had all the coolant system replaced back in May (radiator was done in 2011) Samco hoses Themostat and housings Crack pipe Blue temp sender All has been good but in traffic, on a hot day it will creep up to 110c on the gauge. Once moving it settles to 90c. Oil temp is about 95-110 depending on if I'm ragging it. I've seen 116c oil temp on a really hot day a couple of weeks back. Water never goes above 110c Is the water temp normal? I'm fitting an oil cooler next week and that should take some of the strain off the coolant system, but I'm wondering if I have a fan issue or Aux water pump? Thanks Ron
  2. Heya mate, could I have the brand new VR6 one please? Please PM me payment details thanks.
  3. Indeed, sorry I should have thought more before posting that but I recently covered this is my gallery thread as I got some new ones and about 4 people got really excited as they thought they were obsolete! They are £67 from the dealers up here in Newcastle but Trade Parts Specialist do them for £54. However, if you don't have a TPS in your town then you are buggered as they won't post.
  4. £54 from TPS, they have over 500 in stock at the factory
  5. Hi, if the steering column cowling is standard (adjustable) then I'll take it. Pm me payment details please!
  6. Early cars don't have the fancy socket, I have an adapter to plug the White and Brown into a proper OBD for vagcom. It was from my old 2.0 16v Fiver plus postage if you want it?
  7. Brand new sump arrived today, ready to have an oil drain fitting welded into it. Also software from Vince at Stealth!
  8. Typical corrado situation. I'm also taking the car to Leeds for the VW show on Sunday. So wanted to do a little body work as I had a small 1cm by 3cm hole brewing at the bottom of my passenger arch. Figured I would clean it up, apply POR-15 and then patch and paint. However once I started sanding, I found this beauty, some one already beat me too it :( And then once I started picking away at it. Looks like someone has used the end of a Tin can, formed it into shape and then stuck it in the hole with filler and painted over it up to the sill line with a rattle can. If the previous owner who did this is on here (most of its owners were club members) .......Thanks for that! So I got the old Dremmel out and cut all the rot away, leaving me with this, not too bad! Looks like that front end respray is going to get done sooner than I had planned :( Body shop say they can weld a new bit to the bottom and it will be like new. Luckily the other wing seems to be fine, no patches or rust.
  9. Haha I have been warned that I'll want stage 2. Charger came with a stage 1 pulley and as I'm having to build most of the kit myself, I figured I would get the basics sorted first ;) Last night I got the carbon canister relocated, MAF wiring extended (properly soldered, no crappy bullet clips) Routed the belt, seems to fit well. I'm using the standard AC belt. Strangely some people seem to have an extra idler bracket that support the belt where the AC compressor would be. Having fitted the belt, it doesn't look like I need it? Almost done, just need to get the charge pipe made and the sump with the oil return fitting sorted.
  10. Cool, so far I have run the belt like this. The charger is basically replacing the tensioner.
  11. Probably worth starting a new thread and getting a list of stuff we'd all like to bring back from benig Obsolete. Off the top of my head: Outer door window scrapers Inner door window scrapers Roof trims VR6 front badges
  12. To delete it, I am guessing that I block off the nipple on the throttle body, leave the N80 valve plugged in (no pipes connected to it) to stop error codes. Then relocate the end of the fuel tank breather pipe to the driver side wheel arch (as it used to be on the MK2 golf) Sound right?
  13. Thanks for the responses guys, I found a spot that involved relocating to the other side of the bay but not sure if passing lines carrying fuel vapour over the exhaust area was a good idea ;) I suppose its just the same as relocating to the bulk head.
  14. Hi folks, I need to relocate the carbon canister to make room for my supercharger pipe work. Wondering where others have put this? I'm not going to have much room in the drivers side front corner under the arch as I need o place the MAF there. Does anyone know if it has to be upright? Can I lay it on its side? Cheers
  15. Setting up the belt for my charger install and i'd get better wrapage of the charger pulley if I can route the belt the other way on the alternator pulley. Basically turning it backwards. Seen several pics online with belts installed this way around, but just want to check 100%
  16. I tell you this mate, having repaired the rust on one of my wings for the second time, I'd happily buy FG or Carbon....anything that isn't metal and keeps rusting!
  17. The bottom of mine has perished, ideally looking for a nice rust free one for a late spec car. Would also consider a damaged wing that has the bottom section in tact, I can cut the bottom bit off and weld it. Cheers Ron
  18. Sorry to pipe in, but you seem knowledgable on this one. Are the front wings different, early/later?
  19. Need a passenger wing, found one in the right colour but its pre 92 and my car is a 94 Will they be the same? Thanks
  20. Have you considered selling rims only? I ask as I think the 225 rear is too wide (likely rub on non rolled arch when lowered) and the auto grips are "ditch finders" ;) Flog the tyres on eBay, reduce the price on the rims.
  21. Cheers James, I should be done in a week or so and you are welcome for a ride. Nick, it is stage 1 on a Vortech V9, which should be good for 250-260bhp. Good thing with the V9 is that it will run on stock compression and less traction issues as the power build is linear (belt drive) Already got the cooler kit mate but thanks for the offer Ron
  22. Jesus, if I could get away with it I'd buy it myself, stick the supercharger I've just bought on it too! Swap plates over and my wife would never know ;)
