Whilst sat in traffic/hot weather today I cranked the heater fan up to 4 and got a really strong whiff of coolant, ran it a while but smell stayed. Put it back to 2 and the smell goes......any ideas?

Gotten around to stripping the manky sound deadening from under the bonnet. It was literally just crumbling off all over. Top tip...put a sheet over the engine bay to catch the crap Stripped the remaining glue with Tardis glue remover but actually could have just left it in hind sight as I only went and spayed more glue on and then covered it up.......waste of 30 mins! All done, need to crack on with fitting the supercharger! ;) -
Hi Phil, I think in this case it was just a timing thing as Chris replied to two wanted threads. But basically the general etiquette is that if someone has a wanted post and an item is offered, then that person has first refusal. If its not taken then it back on as fair game. It's tricky when offered in two threads though so no bad feelings at all mate. I've let Chris know when I can meet him to collect (weekend of 28th), if that doesn't work for him then its fair game for you mate as I won't be able to collect from him again for a good few weeks after that. Cheers Ron

Hey Phil, Just a friendly reminder that this is my wanted thread and Vaghag has replied to me. I'm afraid I have first dibs on this and I'm gonna take it. Cheers Ron

That works for me as I travel to Sheffield quite a lot to see family. I think I am actually going on the last weekend of this month. How much are you after for the sump?

Car is looking great matey!

Hey mate, sorry for the late reply. I'm in the US at the moment for work. I'm not going to make the national day I'm afraid but where abouts are you?

Busy weekend tidying her up. Firstly replaced the scratched passenger window and the offending (bent like a banana) window seal. The scratch was really bad I also continued with felt lining the mating surfaces of the door car, I did this on the drivers side a couple of months back and it's totally silent. Also as I remove panels, I've been treating the insides to VW cavity wax in the hope to make the car last forever. It's pricey at £17 a can but is very good, super fluid and then sets very thick. While I was at it I also removed the rear hatch plastics to treat the inside as we'll and the refit the plastics with felt padding to stop it squeaking! The wax eventually started oozing out of the corners. I also greased up all the window mechanicals with silicone lube. -
Yep, keen on these too. Hope the trial set are good.

Hi, sorry guys. They sold a few days ago but I've been rushed off my feet.

Looking for a spare sump to weld an oil return fitting onto for a supercharger. Must be straight and reasonably priced! Cheers Ron

Anyone know the outer diameter of the VR6 throttle body?

Perfect, thanks Jim. Fabricating my supercharger charge pipe and buying the bits online. A 80mm silicone coupler shoudl work fine there. Cheers Ron -
Need to order a silicone hose but havent got the car with me, it needs to fit onto the TB housing. Cheers Ron
-
Hi Phil, you got there first :) All pipes are genuine, please PM me for PayPal details. Cheers Ron

Hi Phil, At this point I'm going to stick to £35 as I looked into postage today and as it is a big box, we're looking at a tenner just to ship. Having had a look on fleabay, most people sell the hoses for £10-£20 each! Cheers Ron
-
No idea what to price these at..... I swapped my hoses out for Samco ones but as we're moving, the wife is keen for me to get all my remaining bit shifted ;) How does £35 shipped sound? All hoses are fine and no leaks or cracks. Cheers Ron

Hi Folks, So I bought a V9 kit for my car, a little hasty and now realised that the kit is not 100% complete for my car. Luckily most of the hard to find bits are there but I am really struggling to work out the NON AC belt/idler pulley set up and need some help. The VF instructions contain this diagram for the AC cars only and no info on the non AC. From pictures that I got from another memeber (Mattpc) I've been able to come up with to guesses as to how the belt and idler would work. Can anyone tell me if any of these are right please? Unfortunately the non AC idler is no longer made so we're going to have to fabricate it and then is my next big hassle, this is a long shot but if anyone knows the dimensions it would be a massive help. Cheers Ron

Hi guys, I am about to embark on a vortech v9 install but the kit i have is not emtirely complete. Looking at the web there seems to be a whole range of ways to route the belt and additional idlers etc I have the origonal onstructions but they are for a car with AC and so the belt setup is different. Im looking for reference on how others have done this on a non AC car (any charger kit) Any help is greatly appreciated! Ron

HAHA, yeah and I probably paid too much for it thanks to you! It had a lot of bidders on that one. Steadily sourcing the rest of the Kit, Mattpc on here has been a big help. Also James at 4 Seasons tuning has been awesome in providing me with the instructions. Will likely do it in the next 2-3 months depending on how quickly i can pull all the bits together. -

Picked my car up this morning having had the 288s fitted, Goodridge stainless braided hoses, service and very pleased to say a fresh MOT (no advisories!) Not sure if it is a 20yr old car thing but the pedal still travels a fair bit further than my mk7 golf before it starts to brake, however when it does brake, it bites hard which is much better. Got my Samcos in! Whoooooops.....so much for OEM+ ;)
