  1. No worries matey, just thought I'd check! looking forward to seeing it finished ---------- Post added at 1:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 1:13 PM ---------- By the way, do you know any good paintshops in the NE?
  2. I know many people have replied already but I saw this thread and it pretty much summed things up for me too. I have a great life on paper, lovely kids, good wife, good job, prospects.....but I am working like a dog for it and not getting to enjoy it. When I was younger, had a lot less money, I was happier as I had more time for fun. The problem is that I can't scale back as i run a company and so I'l be letting my family and my employees down. I think this is a normal situation for "middle class" men to be in. The only hope is that I can make enough money to buy my way out of this mess ;)
  3. He's an Enfield boy, that is what they do ;) I remember on that weekend, he brought a mate along who was a bit of a "G" and Guy started winding this kid up, this was when we were kicking the whole event off at the first bar but were several pints up already. He sat next to the kid on a bench style table so he almost had him squashed up against the side (no escape). Then Guy put his leg up on a stool and said "feel that leg" the kid looked puzzled.....then really agressively he said "Go on feel it" and grabs the kids hands and made him feel his leg.......I was ****ing myself Then Guy and Alex fell out over some crap and someone ended up in "beer" tears I just remember waking up that morning with the taste of Garlic sauce engrained into my mouth :)
  4. I have discovered that a vr6 badge from the rear of a Passat b4 vr6 will fit the grill of a corrado and is the exact same dimensions. It doesn't however have any clips (just a flat adhesive back) and so you have to make your own bracket. I've bought one as a test, see pic These are obsolete with vw but I have a contact in Europe and i get do 10-20 units for £15 each. I would then have to add £2-3 in postage to mainland uk Any interest? Will try and get a better picture on the car at the weekend
  5. Hey Chris, What are you doing with the blackberry one then? Restoring or breaking or just using her as a daily? I ask as I need a bonnet in blackberry as mine has a dent in it. I'm in Newcastle and so if you are breaking or want to do a bonnet swap with cash your way, let me know. Cheers Ron
  6. What condition is it in and is this is blackberry? ---------- Post added at 8:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 8:38 PM ---------- Yes, pics would be great please!
  7. I'm reading this whole thread with much amusement, brings back good memories. I am afraid that my memory isn't so good for names from 10+ years back but did any of you guys come on that crazy CCGB trip to Bournemouth in summer 2002? Basically was a massive ****up weekend with a vague Corrado theme ;) I remember Guy H, Dom L, Alex Posegill and Sarah (G60 bird) being there plus a **** load of others that I have unfortunately forgotten names of (sorry guys!)
  8. Hi, Having spent quite some time trying to find a decent bonnet in BlackBerry, I've decided I might be better off buying another colour and then having it painted. Looking for a good straight one with no dents...... and I mean no dents as the one I have already has dents that could be filled but for the additional labour cost, it would be cheaper to buy a straight one ;) Ideally darker colours, cheap and up North as I am in Newcastle. I have a set of roofbars on my other car and I'm happy to pick up but dont have the time to travel far. Thanks for reading! Ron
  9. Hi Jason, I tested it and it works but I am getting a different reading between this one and my existing one and so I'm not sure what is wrong (my clocks sit at 75c when warm, these sit below 70c and may well be buggered). It is only out by a bit but I have some other problems in that it looks like either my thermostat or my yellow temp sender is buggered (by the way did you check yellow sender first as that sends the signal to the gauge? So basically I need to hold only this set of extra clocks for a but longer until I can get this problem solved as it allows me to have a comparison to test against. I plan to get this fixed soon but it cloud be 2-3 weeks yet. Sorry it isn't better news Cheers Ron
  10. Great.....so glad it is not yet another obsolete part ;)
  11. Just realised mine is missing, just a hole in the carpet where it should be. Only driven the car about 6 times since I bought it and so has taken a while to realise. Are these a common issue or am I just unlucky? Also, anyone know where I can get one? Cheers

    Aargh

How do you think I ended up with a Corrado in the first place :D
  13. Thanks a lot Stone, very helpful! Might also explain why the fan is on all the time!
  14. Hi all, My water temp never seems to get much higher than 1/4 of the way up the gauge, apart from in heavy traffic when it can rise to just above the half way line. Anything I should be concerned about? Oil temp is a stead 95-105c depending on use and no visible signs of oil in water. Engine runs good. Previous owner changed the blue temp sensor recently. Cheers Ron
  15. Yep it arrived today and looks to be in good nick but without plugging it in and giving the car a good run to test I can't bee 100% yet. Will be able to test on sat and if ok, could post to you on Monday?
  16. Hi Matt, pm sent mate.....you've accidentally sent me the window switch instead of the mirror switch ;)
  17. Great stuff! I think you are right, with this weather and the fact that my dash is now in bits.....more likely other side of Xmas now. I steadily returning the car to tip top condition, luckily it was is good shape anyway but lot of little annoying things that are common to the Raddo that I am fixing. Going for an OEM+ look and all the work I am doing is intended to make the car a keeper as I plan to hold onto it for many years ;) Ron
  18. Hi there, Great stuff, could you please send me a pic of each to [email protected] just to be sure of condition as its too far to collect in person. Thanks Ron
  19. Trying to steadily turn my car back from being slightly bling to OEM+ style and so I feel the momo team wheel should go and it currently has a mk2 gold gear knob that doesn't 100% fit. If anyone has steer wheel or gear knob in black going spare (decent nick and not silly money) drop me a line please. Cheers Ron
  20. Welcome and looking forward to hearing how you get on!
  21. Yep me too, mine are OE silver too. The polished rims are cool but a bit gangsta and also a maintenance nightmare. What aspect ration tyres do you have? Mine has stretched tyres, 195x40 and they ride like crap...looking to change to 205 width soon. Clocks did not turn up today but due any time now and hoping it will be Monday. Will be in touch as soon as. Ron
  22. I'm hoping it will arrive tomorrow and so I'll plug it in and check it works this weekend ...fingers crossed
  23. I have just bought a clock pod myself as my DDI dials have packed up but I don't have the old faces to put it back to standard so I bought some donor clocks to pilfer from. They should arrive this week and so I'll check they work first but if all is good then I'd sell you the clock pod minus the gauge faces and bulbs for £20 delivered? ---------- Post added at 8:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 8:06 PM ---------- Btw mine is a 93 but a facelift car, the dials have the red needles. Also when I say "delivered" I mean within mainland Uk Cheers Ron
  24. Got one, ebay £25! Just need to canibalise the old dial faces and the bulbs. Will then be putting the DDI set up for sale and the ebay clocks up as a spares or repair. Having read up on the problem, the ones that havent peeled away can be fixed with some adheasive but the one that has no connection at all is buggered and that is the one that was flickering. I have the inverter etc so somone might want. Cheers Ron
