1. Just picked up a set of BBS Montreal II wheels last night, should be more in keeping with my OEM+ theme. Also, while I do love the TT comps I think the ride on 17"s is a bit on the harsh side......maybe I am getting old :) Should look somthing like this one when they are on: http://the-corrado.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=29034&d=1296921855
2. Hi All, I have for sale my rather nice TTcomps which have been refurbed in OE silver and have 195/40/17 Toyo proxies (have a bit of stretch to them) The wheels are in very good nick and were polished before but the previous owner couldnt be doing with the up keep of the polished look, the wheels have not been filled and so could be repolished again without issue. The two rear Toyo tyres are very good and have about 4-5mm of tread. The Drivers side front has about 4mm left and is a little more worn on the inner shoulder but perfectly fine. The passenger front tyre is shot, heavy wear on both inner and outer shoulders and while drivable is probably not legal. £300, no offers and collection from Newcastle. Happy to help if you want to organise your own courier.
3. I dont know 100% but I remember that when I had my Khaki VR6, it came with cloth seats and I bought a mushroom leather interior (very rare) This was a late interior going into a late car and the seats did feel different, as you describe. Personally I think the leathers look better and are more practical but a cloth seat is always more comfy
4. You are right, the secret is not to tighten them so they create any friction on the cables. When you look inside the dash, there are loads of original cable holders that are directly clasping the loom but they are *just* holding it and not squeezing. The cable ties I've put in are just holding them in place without being tight enough to rub.
5. Yeah, he said he'd had one in with an engine swap, guessed it may well be yours as he said it was a light blue/purple colour. The bracket for the centre console is superb, great work Dave!
6. Man, I am on a role today..... Also managed to fit Dave16v excellent repair bracket for the loose centre console, what a superb mod! I also lined all the mating parts with felt and it is rock solid now. This then led to me finally being able to put the interior back together bar the throttle pedal stop and footrest which should be coming from another member and day now. Tidied the wiring Got everything back together and feeling very solid with all new clips, brackets and lined mating faces with felt. Shame it was too dark to get a decent pic
7. Got my car back from MB motorsport yesterday, had most of the coolant system replaced including thermostat and all plastic housings, sensors etc Only bit not changed was the radiator (was new in 2011) and hoses as look to be in good nick (although will likely go samco later) The car now warms up as it should to half way and the temp doesn't drop right off when on the motorway like it did. Strangely also seems to be ticking over much better too which is an odd side effect. Still, another couple of hundred quid lighter now :( but on the plus side, checked the oil after 3 months and it hasn't used a drop! So plenty of life left in the bottom end and the head was brand new at 105k ---------- Post added at 10:59 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:21 AM ---------- Just finished polishing up the indicators I bought from Stonejag. Used 3000 grit wet paper and then resin polish.....have come up pretty well
8. Hi guys, I just wanted to say that I had most of the coolant system changed today, all plastic pipes plus thermostat (already had a new radiator) Temp readings are perfect now so all sorted, thanks for the advice!
9. I could be interested mate but price is too high. I was talking to a chap who had a set on eBay with Toyo proxies and he only wanted £100. I was going to have them but he wouldn't post and I didn't want to trek to Cambridgeshire :( If you find you can't shift them at £200 and want to talk in the 100-150 region then let me know!
10. This also seems to be on eBay, or at least the same pic is...
11. Agree, I left the Corrado scene to focus on my relationship and career as Corrados are time consuming.....came back to Corrados again now as it keeps me away from the two things I set out to focus on :)
12. Good man! I have no suggestions but when you solve it, I'll take one ;)
13. It is in at the garage I use tomorrow (MB motorsport) having the thermostat and all the housings replaced, plus the top elbow on the radiator. Will also be raising it slightly (15mm) or so as Mookie liked it too "gangsta" for my liking :) Fingers crossed they don't find any other surprises for me
14. Hi Rob, no problem have money sorted again now but man....I hope this car stops needing money soon :( It is funny as when I bought it, I just didn't see all these goofy little bits that were broken or missing....bought with my heart and not my head like a fool. I'll pm in a sec
15. Ah ha! Cool, not at all what I expected it to be like! I was going to contact you tonight about that trim panel, I'll take it but I just needed to hold off as I've bought so many parts lately without thinking that I've maxed out the card connected to my paypal ;) All sorted now. Do you by any chance want to sell me this bracket? Save me the hassle of trying to make one! Cheers Ron
16. That would be awesome as the part is obsolete and so I'm probably goign to have to make one myself unless someone is breaking a corrado and has it. Either way a photo will help me big style
17. I wonder if there is supposed to be a bracket unr the carpet that has a threaded hole for the stopper but is attached to the floor with 2 self tapping screws? The other thing that baffles me is WTF would someone want to remove it in the first place!
18. Hi guys, When I bought my car, it was missing the plastic stopper behind the accelerator pedal. The previous owner had a problem with the throttle body and replaced it and I suspect having the stop missing caused that as it put too much pressure on the throttle body assembly when mashing the accelerator pedal. So to stop damage to the new throttle body, I set about replacing the stop and managed to source one from Vee Dubs in Gateshead. The problem is that when I went to fit it, there is no threaded hole in the floor. There are two smaller holes that had self tappers screwed into them. You can't see it too well in the pic below but basically there are two holes here, neither is big enough for the stopper. How the hell should this fit? :)
19. Accidentally ordered this from Germany thinking it was for the front grille. I could send it back but postage would make it a bit of a waste of time. This is a genuine rear vw emblem £15 posted
20. Yet another box of parts arrived from Germany today, mostly original trim clips in various shapes and sizes. also a radiator top elbow which is the last part I needed before refurbish the coolant system. Luckily the car is fitted with a new radiator but the rest is old stuff soon to be replaced. I managed to get a throttle stop and pretty much all the carpet clips and door panel retainers. I'm lining all the mating surfaces with felt to help reduce the rattles and squeaks.
21. As an employer myself, with a company of 20 staff I can say that the proceedure is normal and I wouldnt panic, we do this too.
22. My wife calls it "the biscuit tin" as being inside it is like being in a tin can.......not that it smells of Digestives
23. The black plastic bit that is on the right hand side next to the accelerator pedal and has a hole that the pedal stop is bolted through, it also sits around the bonnet release and has 2 screw holes. Mine has a big fat crack in it :( Cheers Ron
24. Oh mate, that would have been good to see it. I just work in Gateshead by the Baltic. I think I am wrong, I'm thinking of the V5 which is a VR5 engine with I think 2.4 or 2.5L, it was in the early mk4 golfs
